Teespring: Fundraising with Custom T-Shirts

image TeeSpring

Are you looking for a way to raise money for a good cause? Whether it’s in your own backyard (Dr. bills, adoption, surgery) or for your community (ex. Sandy Hook Shooting, New park in your area, Boston Bombing) but don’t have the start-up money or EVEN know where to start helping out?

Creating anything custom is hard work if you don’t have the capital to buy everything necessary to start. If you want to start making custom tshirts, for example- you’ll need to find a wholesaler who sells the shirts (and possibly buy them in many different colors, sizes, and styles), and you’ll also need help from a company who has screen printing equipment.

Most of us don’t have the kind of money on hand to do something like this starting out. 600+ for shirts PLUS paying for screen printing and if you were trying to SELL them, you’d also have to pay to ship them out as well. That would add up to more than $1,000.

If you’re thinking about partnering up with a printing company online, you also MIGHT want to think twice. Usually their printing isn’t up to par (very low quality) and they charge an arm and a leg basically. So the people who DO want to buy your designs are probably going to end up mad customers demanding their money back!

That’s where Teespring steps into play. They allow you to create and design your own custom tees without ANY upfront cost at ALL. That means no money to be raised, no knocking on people’s doors asking for donations, AND you can get right to work!

Once you design your shirt, the buyer is the one who funds the shirts. They will choose their size WITH your design.. so you’re not sitting there panhandling shirts all day and end up with a ton left. THEY choose their sizing, so you always have the right amount of shirts!

Then they are shipped directly to the buyers address provided at the time they buy the shirt. SO, there’s another cost that isn’t laid on you! SHIPPING is higher than what you think it is too. Just shipping a tshirt could cost at least $6-10. You have to provide the packaging (box), something for the shirt to be in (plastic) so it doesn’t get wet, AND then the shipping fee.

The Teespring tees are nothing but HIGH quality apparel. So you don’t have to worry about someone purchasing your design and then wanting a refund. They only provide service that they would be happy with themselves! WIN/WIN!

All you do is design your shirt and then choose a price. After choosing a price you set a goal of how many shirts you THINK you can sell/or how many shirts it will take you to reach your $ goal.

I really love this idea. There are actually 2 campaigns that I am wanting to start with Teespring. First, my dad died in a motorcycle accident when I was 7 and my mom who was widowed (AND a stay at home mom at the time) was left to foot the bill for his funeral. She paid the funeral off, but never had the extra money to get him a headstone.

He deserves a headstone, I want him to have one, and I would like to do this for both my dad and my mom. That’s my first campaign that will be going on.

Secondly, my infant niece was born at 25 weeks on June 1, 2013 and didn’t make it. My sister isn’t only dealing with the trauma of losing her daughter but worried about how she is going to pay for the funeral as well.. so that’s my second campaign—to help her!

Here are others ideas, the t-shirts they made, and the money they raised to get where they needed to be in life.

This one included children's and toddler's shirts to raise money for an 11-year-old to sing in a children's choir in Hungary

This one raised over 85k for Boston relief

Don’t you think that this is an amazing way to raise money? I do! Open-mouthed smile

Tell me what you think about the shirts.

Review: Flirty Diva Tees- Customized Shirts

Even before I had kids I knew that I wanted to name them something unique. With a name like “Jessica” I wanted their names to mean something to them (even if it’s just in spelling)!

BUT the downside to having a unique name is that there aren’t many customized things that you can buy. When we go somewhere and see the bike license plates, shirts, or even keychains—their names aren’t in there.

When I ran across Flirty Diva Tees Sweetie Pie Tees I knew I had to have one for her. They are SO adorable and can be customized with any name you want.

The shirts are long sleeve, black, with hot pink/yellow, or green letters. When it arrived in the mail- Adisyn couldn’t have been happier! She immediately started jumping up and down and wanting to wear it. OF course, I let her!

She just looks so unbelievably adorable in her shirt. Doesn’t she look so proud sporting it? I was very amazed at how bright the lettering stayed even after washing and drying it TONS of times!

They are made of 100% cotton and are the very BEST quality! They aren’t MASS produced, they are made one-by-one right here in the United States. They are guaranteed to not crack or fade! ♥ them!

There is a limit of 4 words that can go on the shirt, but other than that—you can choose anything you want! Whether it’s “little sister, big sister, their name, Birthday Girl, or Princess” they can be customized ANY way you wish!

Since the shirts are customized, they are nonreturnable. SO- if you accidentally make a mistake you’ll have to order another if you don’t want them wearing a misspelled shirt—so make sure the spelling is correct.

5 EASY STEPS
Step 1. TYPE NAME, Type your child's first name in the bar that says first name, then type your childs middle name into the bar that says middle name.
Your t-shirt will be produced in caps and lowercase using the lettering style
(font) shown in the picture of our cute little model, Ava Grace.
Step 1. CHOOSE STYLE OF SHIRT (short sleeve or long sleeve)
Step 2. CHOOSE SIZE
Step 3. CHOOSE THE COLOR OF SHIRT.
Step 4. CHOOSE THE COLOR FOR THE LETTERING.
Step 5. CHOOSE THE QUANTITY and click ADD TO CART.

THAT'S IT! YOU HAVE JUST CREATED A BEAUTIFUL T-SHIRT FOR YOUR LITTLE GIRL THAT SHE WILL LOVE!

Buy IT! You can buy your own special princess a shirt at a discounted price of only $26.95 (originally $49.90).

They also make any other kind of customized (AND already made) tee shirt, long sleeved shirt, and EVEN hoodies! They come in many colors and sizes (even plus sizes)!

Here are some already made shirts that I couldn’t resist showing you:

CustomT Couture Review

Customtcouture my shirt

My Review

002

I have TONS of clothes. More than anyone should have- I admit. I can’t help it though, I need options. =) Out of all those shirts (100’s) this will always be my favorite.

Personalized stuff is so much better than wearing a regular old Tee shirt. I mean, why NOT make it yours? I designed this entire shirt and am absolutely in LOVE with it. I may be buried in this shirt one day (hopefully in the far far future.. =)

When I visited the Custom T Couture Website, I was in AWE. There are so many different way to customize shirts, that I spend all day redesigning mine. I added this and that, and then wanted this and that, and it ended up being too much, so I had to delete some.

005

The first thing I chose to put on my shirt was of course my name with Adam’s. We will be together 7 years this year and never ONCE have I made a shirt. I don’t know why, just haven’t gotten around to it. Now that I have, I love it.

There are 11 different fonts to choose from. I chose the distressed font. It looked great with the look I was going for. Then I was going for the skulls, because I can’t resist. It was so awesome, because EVERYTHING is customizable. I chose the green and black look. Not only can you customize the main art, you can customize the details. Made the skull Green and the star in the middle of the head black.

003

The other side is a green and black butterfly. It is a tribal butterfly. Very beautiful and again, I customized the details green, with the main skull Black.

009

The back has my name on it, in embroidered type letters. Then I added the Skull with the Green circle layout behind it. Above the Skulls head, I added the Princess crown with Green Rhinestones.

I loved that I could view it on a model directly from the design space on the website. This help me be able to place everything exactly where I needed it to be. I wasn’t worried that I might have the letters or anything running off the sides of the shirt.

They have TONS of designs you can use to add flare and uniqueness to your shirt. They have tattoo images, pirates, bead art, rhinestones, embroidery, bead spray, and beaded text.

They let you choose shirt color and the type of shirt. So if your wanting a v-cut, regular t, or whatever- you have options. OPTIONS, OPTIONS, OPTIONS are everywhere. Which is what I like best. I love that they have so many details to add, so many things to embellish, and yet it isn’t expensive at all.

You will pay more for an airbrushed shirt from the mall than you will for everything that I added to this shirt. And I added quite a bit. Text, Images, Embroidery, and Rhinestones.

They even let you upload your own designs. So if your looking for a cheap place to make shirts for your business, a band, a reunion, or a party- this is definitely the site you need to go to.

They have a price summary right at the bottom, so you know how much your shirt is going to cost. This helps when your on a budget. I know at some websites, when they have something I like and I am adding stuff to it, I get a bit frantic. I am not sure how much it is going to cost. I don’t want to go to pay for it and then have to go back and take stuff off because I don’t have enough money to cover. It’s embarrassing, and I avoid stuff like that at ALL costs.

I really like that they already have t-shirts that are designed and you just customize. This way if you are short on time and want a really awesome shirt, you can just add your name or whatever and Voilà your done! Gothic, Decorative, Bridal, Personalized and more.

Care: You hand wash these shirts in cool water inside out and lay them flat to dry. This keeps text from fading and keeps rhinestones from falling off.
