How to Start & Run A Craft Business

You don’t even want to know the number of hours I have spent searching and searching for info on how to do this. I have spent 3 whole years reading every craft book in site, Spending countless of hours on the internet looking at everything I could think of on how to start up.. Plus went to college for an associates business management and admin with marketing as my minor. I know how hard it is to get a leg up in business, especially since I’m a mom of 2 living in a small town with no financial investments. So I’ve made a plan to do what I can when I can.

It is so awesome to see people helping other people and there are a lot of people with faith in others. When I found The Artful Crafters website, it made me so happy. It is a website with all the info on how to start and maintain a crafting business.

Here is an insert from her blog.

“My first career was as a special education teacher. After 15 years of teaching I earned an MBA degree followed by CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) certification. After 15 years in finance I was a vice-president and portfolio manager of a major insurance company before I was downsized.

Tired of the rat race, I opted for early retirement. Looking for something to do with all my free time, I started an at home craft business and am now making a nice supplemental income from it.

As a crafter and a businesswoman, I feel I have some valuable insights into the craft business that I can share with you.”

Here is the main page

Here are the links that I think are so helpful..

L’bri Review {skin care & make-up}

I have recently had the chance to review an awesome skin care product. If you have never heard of L’bri, you definitely have been missing out.

I received the package which contained a 3 step facial cleaning sample for 10 days, 1 package of facial masque, 1 package of exfoliating face & body scrub, 1 package rejuvenating facial peel, and  1 package smooth & firm eye repair gel.

It came in an awesome little sample package..

L’bri’s products work very well. I used it the first night I received it and was pleased with the results. I felt like I had went to the spa for a facial.

My face felt exactly like my daughter’s skin, how wonderful is that? For someone who usually has oily skin, I felt awesome.

I was in total amazement after the first day of using it, and I usually have skin problems. I usually had to wash my face with apricot scrub AND face cleanser twice a day because my skin was so oily. I had a problem wearing my hair down because it is very long and ends up all over my face, I love my hair but I hated getting break-outs from it. Especially when I was pregnant with my son. I wish I had heard of this product then. I would have saved me some trouble..

The aloe is such a nice add-in which causes your face to rehydrate and soothe itself. Notice how when you put aloe on sunburns you get the automatic coolness? Well the skin care line has put aloe as their main ingredient which creates the most wonderful products.

On their website they provide info on how to determine skin type {here} & how to use their products {here}

They not only carry products for women they also have skin care products for men as well {here}, which could be a great Father’s Day gift.

TIPX

What makes L’bri Stand out.

They use Aloe Vera Barbedensis as their first ingredient when other skin care makers use water.

L’bri does not use waxes such as beeswax in their formulas because they clog pores and cause whiteheads. They also do not use oils, because they are considered skin suicide because overtime they dehydrate the skin. They also do not use alcohols which dry the skin out. They want people to be proud of their faces and use natural ingredients.

You can click {here} to receive some free samples of L’bri (Which I highly recommend)

You can click {here} to see the online catalog which contains some very impressive products..

They have these labels:

Cleansing & Freshening,

Moisture Treatments,

Skin Care Trio’s,

Exfoliating,

Repairing,

Specialty Treatments,

Anti-Aging solutions,

Hair & Body Care,

Hand& Body,

Sun Care Solutions,

Liquid Foundation & Concealer

Foundation,

Blush,

Eyeshadows,

Mascara & Eyeliners,

the go & glow beauty collection,

eyebrows,

lipstick,

lip gloss & pencils,

Multi-action pain relief cream

& Nutritional Supplements. ♥

I had a wonderful experience with L’bri. I hardly ever get to feel as beautiful as I felt when using these products. They take away all the worries and stress of cleaning your face. The products clean, freshen, rehydrate, exfoliate, and removes all blemishes and blackheads. It is a wonderful everyday product that I would and AM recommending to all. I loved it and I think you would too.

L’bri’s Inspiring Start Up Story..

{From their website}

They Dared to Dream...

The daughter of immigrants and the son of a father born in poverty, Linda and Brian Kaminski put everything on the line--investing their savings, mortgaging their home, selling the family car, borrowing on credit cards, and when that fell short, selling many of their possessions--to research advanced skin care formulas and start their own skin care business.

Without a car, Brian pedaled a bicycle around town while Linda gave away skin care samples to shoppers in the parking lot of their local Wal-Mart.  Today their company, L'Bri Pure n Natural, based in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is the nations leader in providing aloe-based skin care, beauty, and nutritional products through a network of independent Consultants.

Pure Aloe and Natural Ingredients

We unlocked the healing power of aloe vera to formulate skin care products that not only moisturize, but also repair damaged skin.  Aloe vera contains 75 nutrients, 200 active compounds, 20 essential minerals, 18 amino acids, and 12 vitamins.  Nicknamed the burn plant, aloe vera has been the subject of numerous scientific inquiries and has been used as a healing agent for thousands of years.

The benefits of aloe are well documented.  But how does aloe vera work to heal and rejuvenate delicate skin tissue?  Aloe slows the aging process in several ways.  As an excellent cleansing and detoxifying agent, aloe removes dead skin cells, wastes, and toxins while purifying the pores.  Researchers now know that aloe stimulates proteolytic enzyme action in skin tissue, enhancing the process of cell division.  Specifically, fibroblast cells that manufacture collagen, needed to keep the skin firm, are produced six to eight times faster than normal cells.  The vitamins, minerals, and amino acids found in aloe nourish and moisturize the skin.  Aloe rejuvenates and rebuilds new healthy skin at an accelerated pace by using the same process that gives the youthful skin of children that fresh, healthy glow.

L’bri is an awesome company with an awesome story sharing their awesome products. Head on over and see for yourself. ♥

Thanks for taking the time to spend a little time with me.

I was not compensated for the review, I did receive products to review.

I was on the QDF website and came across this awesome tutorial, and knew I had to share it..

I know some of you might need a little notebook organization too. ☺
