When COVID hit and we were stuck in the house a lot I ordered a Dirt Devil PowerMax Pet 🐶 which I absolutely adored. It lasted 3 years but I did have to constantly change the belt because it was snapping. I decided I would like to get the updated version to see how it compares to the one I already loved.
It came in the mail today; I unboxed and put it together. It took less than 5 minutes to snap all the parts and hoses on. It comes with 3 attachments; an extender, a pet "claw" attachment, and a little extender with a brush on the end.
The Dirt Devil Endura Max is a budget-friendly bagless upright vacuum. While it has a pretty basic design, there are still a few convenient features and add-ons to make cleaning a tad bit easier. These include a high-capacity dustbin, a floorhead that offers four levels of height adjustment, and a quick-release wand with a fairly long hose for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
The Dirt Devil Endura Max is well-suited for cleaning high-pile carpet. It's pretty powerful and effective in clearing and cleaning pet hair, though it can leave behind some larger/bigger debris embedded or ingrained in carpet fibers due to the low suction force at the floorhead. Its floorhead has a wide range of height adjustment options, though even at its highest level, the brushroll can still get caught on shag-pile rugs or throw rugs. There's no brushroll off switch either, so you'll need to turn the vacuum off when it gets stuck.
