My life changed completely when I became a mom. My life was turned upside down and flipped around a million times, to say the least. I went from being 24 weeks pregnant to going into early labor and quickly becoming a parent the same day. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. Not knowing whether I would be bringing him home or not, because he was so early.

         

            Becoming a mom is the best thing that ever happened to me, even with the struggles I went through. My son was born at 24 weeks weighing in at only 1 lb. 13 oz. It was hard to know that he might not make it, and there was absolutely nothing I could do for him other than hope and pray for the best. Being a mother is like having your heart walk around outside of your body.

   

The new Garth Brooks single “mom” made me bawl my eyes out. It is a tribute to mothers everywhere. It is such a beautiful, heart-filled song about a conversation between God and an unborn baby. The baby is scared to be sent from heaven to Earth, but God reassures and comforts him, explaining and telling him about this fantastic person who will always be there for him and take care of him- his mom.

This song spoke to me in more ways than one. I feel like this could definitely be a song for both Aidan and I. I would pray to God everyday that he would help make Aidan stronger, so he could be with me and I with him. Feeling that miracle of faith and hope is something that kept me going throughout the 3 1/2 months my son was in the NICU.

I absolutely love the story behind this song, it is beautiful. Even if you aren’t a mom, it brings memories of your own mom. The fact that they care for you more than anybody else in the world. How they are always there no matter what, and will love you forever. It’s a lovely song.  Get the “Mom” single.
