My Review

Say Hello to the Look of Real.
I received a pair of earrings to review for Say Hello Diamonds. The pair I received were the Pantinas. I can see why they are the top selling product on the site. They are so beautiful, and designed with such brilliance. The veneer diamond is essentially a CZ stone with a dusting of real diamonds on the outer layer. I seriously couldn’t tell the difference between a real diamond and these veneer diamonds.
These earrings are really worth the money, because you can’t tell they aren’t real diamonds. They are even clearer and brighter than real diamonds. Diamonds can come with flaws, but these diamond  pieces rarely do. They have to go through such a rough testing process, that they aren’t sent out with flaws or discolorations.
I know that they are made well, because I have an allergic reaction to jewelry that is made with nickel. I break out in tiny bumps that itch like poison ivy.. These earrings have been in my ears since Tuesday and no bumps, no itching, and nothing has broke off them yet. =)
The creations are so glamorous, yet have such a non-glamorous price. Most of their products are under $200. If you buy real diamond earrings, you will be paying the whopping price of almost $12,000. So $200 is a price that I would definitely take.

My Review

I love Storey Publishing books- every time I look through their catalog, I always write down at least 20 books that I love. These are books that I would love to have, not only because I love reading, but because they are books that I could read over and over and never be bored.
I have been sewing for close to 2 years so I am not a beginner, but I am not an advanced seamstress either. There were some things that I needed to learn, and this book hit the spot. I taught myself how to sew by reading books and looking through tutorials on the internet. SO having such advanced crafters show you how to make so many cute items was a big plus for me.

This book has tons of information on the essentials of sewing. The different weights of fabric and how they should be cared for. How to prep fabric before cutting it, and the how to cut it without it fraying. Making patterns and using already made patterns. Best sewing techniques such as selecting thread.
When you are a beginner, this is essential to creating projects that don’t come undone after they are made, don’t shrink after being washed, and creating the best without stretching your fabric, or having to rip your seams back open a million times before getting it right.
Knowing Stitch terminology and key techniques won’t only help you when doing projects in this book, but will also help you with all your sewing projects. The different seams and stitches might have you confused at first without a book to describe it.
There are so many cute designs in this book, you’ll be in amazement for hours. As soon as I received the book, I looked through each page and declared sewing war on every project. I was determined to at least try every single project.
I was excited to see that they spiced it up and threw in so many different things to make. Can you say “awesome?” I could seriously stay holed up in my office for hours making everything in site. Adam makes fun of me because I have so much fabric. Fabric I’ve bought, fabric people have given me as a gift, and fabric I’ve cut from clothes. I told him someday I’d use it and I was right. =)
This book is so fun to look through with all the pretty projects and fabulous pictures. There are so many things I have been wanting to make, yet haven’t had the time. This book has really made me want to jump right in and forget everything else.
There are non-sewing projects like the Framed Tack Board and Lined Bookcase. These are both on my to-do list. As soon as spring comes around and garage sales pop back up, I am definitely looking for some old picture frames and bookcases. These could really spice up a room.
The sewing instructions are so easy to follow. The instructions are  detailed to where a beginner can understand, and have the exact measurements. I used some scrap fabric to make a couple of yards, because I haven’t been to the fabric shop in a while, and using them was no problem.
The book has organization projects like the dresser organization & charging station, mailbag pocket duo, & organized bed pocket. These are also things I want to make. They are also things I need to make. My house is in a cluttered mode right now because of Christmas.
I chose to make the Sewing Machine Cover from pg. 83. This is a Sewing Tools Trio, but I didn’t make the pincushion or sewing case yet. I was just messing around with fabric and created a sewing machine cover I love. I was using the one that came with the sewing machine.

Here is mine. I didn’t make it with coordinating fabric. I used two fabrics together, and I love it. The two fabrics are both so soft, and have prints on them that I love. I did have some issues turning it inside out, so I ripped the seams and just sewed the pocket right on the fabric.

They have so many other cute items to make. I felt before this book that I had truly lost my creative side for a little while. Now, I feel like I could just make anything in this book. I will definitely try. =)
They have a Cd case, binder cover, quilted lunch bag, car trash bag, and a jewelry roll that I would love to make for gifts. There are tons of clothes that I want to try to make. I have never actually made clothes before. I have stuck basically to bags, purses, and blankets.
Speaking of purses- they have so many awesome purses that I don’t believe I’ll ever be in need of one again. Although I already have more than I should. =) What can I say? A girl needs her accessories. There isn’t a bag in here that I wouldn’t carry! Even the grocery tote and diaper tote, although my kids aren’t even in diapers. =)
The kids clothes are so adorable. They have size measurements, so you aren’t chasing your kid down trying to measure them when all they want to do is play. Makes is a lot easier. I really like the Strapless Bandeau Shorty Jumper, the Ballet-Neck Toddler Dress, and the Pleated Girly Skirt. I will definitely be making these for Adisyn in the future. I think the Ballet-Neck Toddler Dress would be perfect for her Birthday Party.
In the accessories for little ones, they have not only accessories for girls, but cute accessories for boys as well. Aidan will definitely love the Firefighter hat, I just need to get some Cotton Broadcloth first. The baby gift set will make an awesome gift for friends or relatives just having a baby. It consists of blanket, booties, bib, and a to-go bag to hold it all.
For playtime, they have tons of cute plush animals and toys to make for your baby or toddler. I have never conquered a plushy, but now’s my chance. All these plushy toys come with the pattern insert in the front. How could they make it any easier for me? LOL
In the Your Furry Friends section- they have the cutest animal beds, coat, bandana, and walking set. Your little pet (or friends pet) will be the cutest on the block.. ♥
I had tons of fun with this book, and you will see some more of my work once I complete it..
