Headline Tshirts Review & Giveaway
About:
At Headline Shirts, we're obsessed with making intelligently funny tees and apparel. While that makes us lousy dinner guests, it makes us really good at making smart, great-looking stuff that you won't find anywhere else.
Our Vintageblend™ tees are hand-sewn right here in San Francisco, CA, using a super-soft, poly/cotton blend. As you might expect from a bunch of West Coast tree huggers, we use only Eco-friendly inks and materials right down to the compostible bags we ship them in.
We're pretty sure you're going to like what you get from us. But if you don't, let us have it. We want to do whatever it takes to fix it (unless that involves being the getaway driver in a heist or something).
Oh, and that baboon you see in the photos? You're wondering who that is, aren't you? That's our chief of operations, Robert. Robert Baboon. (Don't call him “Bobby” — he insists on Robert.)
My Review:
I love graphic tees, I always have. I love to wear something amusing, something that can make people chuckle.
I love that you can either shop by style or sizing. Some people may want to search for items in their size before purchasing. Whether they want a Women’s Medium, or a Man’s Small.
But then some people want to look at the choices first, and may get a bigger size if the shirt is what they want, and they aren’t leaving without it.
And that’s all you’ll find here- is funny, thought provoking shirts. They have so many interesting designs, that you’ll definitely want more than one.
I reviewed the relentlessly awesome shirt.
and that’s exactly what it is. unyieldingly severe awesomeness.
I love the shirt. They are hand-made right in California. The inks that are printed on the shirts and all materials used are eco-friendly.Their bags are also compostable, and a conscious company is always a plus in my book.
The shirt is made with an
50/50 xtra-soft poly/cotton and is extremely soft and allows your skin to breath. The fabric makes the shirt form fitting and doesn’t “sag” after a couple washes. This has went through the cycles many times, and the text hasn’t faded.
The shirt makes me FEEL awesome, if you can even imagine that. It makes me chuckle to myself every time I wear it. Being awesome is a hard responsibility and one I am willing to accept. =)
I did have the desire to have a shirt that alerted people of how unyielding awesome I am. Am I being too into “me”. I think not. I think being awesome is something everyone should be. Then maybe, just maybe- we wouldn’t have to deal with buttheads on a daily basis.
The shirt is tagless. So no itchy scratchy tags here! No wanting to rip the sucker off because it has become such a bother. Yep! Awesomeness is true form right here.
The shirts are screenprinted and shipped within 1 day. They have a sizing chart on the website, so that you make sure you get the perfect fit. Whether you’re buying for yourself- or buying for a gift.
I should really get Adam this shirt. Say ‘Tweet’ Again
I use all these things that he doesn’t know and doesn’t care to know. You don’t even want to know what they were saying. =)
For only $24- why not SHOW the world something about you?
Headlines is amazing, and addicting. I love so many of their shirts, that it was hard for me to choose.
Head on over and pick a fav.
Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. I did receive products in exchange for an honest review.

One lucky Made.By.Jess reader will win a shirt of choice with free shipping from Headlines.

Are You Sitting Down? by Shannon Yarbrough Book Review #book
A rape victim raising a biracial baby. A drug addict haunted by a dead girlfriend. A homosexual mourning a dead lover. A teacher having an affair with his student. And a businesswoman sexually harassed by her boss. What do they all have in common? They all sit at Lorraine White's holiday dinner table; they are also her children.
But Lorraine's children are not the only ones in the family dealing with ghosts of the past. This is the first Christmas the Whites have spent together since the death of their father. And it very well could be their last, as arguments ensue, secrets are revealed, and perhaps a murderer walks among them.
In his latest novel, Shannon Yarbrough explores the damaged soul of one small town family and breaks through the boundaries of love, convincing his readers that no matter how hard life gets, sometimes the support of family is often the only true foundation we have left to depend upon - whether we want it or not
My Thoughts.
I really liked this book. It is a book where each chapter is a different person’s perspective of their lives.
Travis White has been a long time out of high school. He is also been out of the closet since then. His mom wasn’t excepting of this- thinking she had done something “wrong” to turn him this way.
But how could they turn away from his issues when clearly they all had their own.
Martin, the oldest son of Lorraine White- is the “academic” overall good son. Or so people think. What they don’t know happened in the closet of his Science Room with he and a student will never see the light of day.
Ellen, the oldest daughter- is having marriage problems. She had to end up working after being a stay at home mom for 7 years. She had to practically beg to become a worker at the local courthouse. Her new boss then used her “begging'” as a way to force himself on her.. After that- any touch felt a little like his touch.
Travis- He met and fell in love with Justin Black. Justin’s Parents never even considered he might be gay. So Travis has to listen to all the hints and slurs from Justin’s Mom about Travis taking her son away. He then gets a terminal disease and Travis has to face the inevitable.
Sebastian- The youngest son- has a very bad drug problem. SO bad that he wakes up next to a girl he barely knows and she is DEAD. They had overdone it, and she wasn’t waking up. Because she was in HIS bed, he might be facing murder charges..
Clare- The Youngest daughter, has many a problem also. She has a biracial baby. Her family thinks that her and the father just aren’t “together.” When in fact- they never were. She was raped and never told anyone.. she then finds out that she may have been adopted and she needs to think about what to do about it..
*Very good book. Very detailed. Shannon is very good at switching each chapter to a new person. Sometimes when a book is written like this, the readers get lost because it jumps around. This book is nothing like that.
This book is awesome. I couldn’t put it down. I read the entire book within 2-3 days in random spurts. Very interesting and keeps you so engrossed in the book that you just want to keep turning pages.
In this book “everyone knows everyone” in a small town just simply isn’t the truth. Everyone thinks they know, but they haven’t even begun to touch the iceberg.. It’s about a family who would rather shove secrets under the rug rather then face them head on..
Buy the book..
and read what an awesome story line with very real characters that make you think twice about the reality of real.
Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post, all opinions are my own. I wasn’t compensated, although I did receive a copy in exchange for a honest review.
I want to thank Shannon Yarbrough for writing such an amazing book. I enjoyed every single page =) Hope to be reading more in the future..

It’s Me Time with Edenfantasys
18+. The links below will take you to an adult website, so no clicky clicky unless your of AGE..
These last months have been stressful. Not really STRESSful as they have been BUSY. I stay busy 24/7 it seems. When I hit the pillow at night, it doesn’t even take me 2 seconds to be out like a light.
I seriously need some “me” time. Some relaxation time. Some time with a good book, soft background music, and a good drink in one hand. =)
Since having kids, I haven’t had more than 20 minutes to shower in years it seems. They are always knocking at the door and crying because I am not within their eyesight.
I have been looking through the edenfantasys website, and had my eye on some pretty awesome stuff. Just because it is a sex toy shop, doesn’t mean they don’t sell other items to make your life a little easier and a whole lot better.
For instance, they have a pretty bad massage kit that looks amazing. It is called the Shuga Garden of edo organic collection. With it having an exotic green tea scent, I don’t see how the products AREN’T relaxing and what I need for a weekend without the kids. It comes with a Massage oil, Lubricant, Aphrodisiac Oil, Sensitizing Gel, and Bath Salt,
I also have my eyes on the Leau a deux – sensual kit. I’ve heard some great things about it. It comes with a CD of sensual music, bath foam, massage gel, 4 candles, and massager. How could I not want this? I am looking forward to a hot bath with candles all around, a bath foam, and a massage after
I was also looking through their bra and panty sets, and WOW. They have some amazing sets for CHEAP. I mean $12 a set cheap. Even going to walmart for JUST a bra, your going to pay at least $8.. why not rack up and splurge on you? I know I would feel so much more AMAZING wearing something sexy that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg..
Also- FYI: They have an amazing community where you can learn about relationships. Whether it’s how to strengthen it, abusive relationships, or just anything relationship wise. EdenCafe is amazing. Be sure to give it a check out.
Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post. I was in no way compensated for this post. This post is completely honest.

I definitely need to get everything I do and have organized in every way.
My only problem is I'M A PACK RAT. I definitely have too many yards of fabric, too many beads, too many books, clothes, shoes, and bookshelves. There wouldn't be a problem with this except I live in an apartment and have TOTES and TOTES of stuff I wish I had room for. =)

Fight Bone Loss with Fembody Advanced Bone Activator Review
This Is No Ordinary Calcium
Clinically tested AlgaeCal®, a whole-food calcium, is the only calcium shown to rebuild bone loss.*
Enhanced with Polycan™ Beta Glucan, shown to activate osteoblasts, a key biomaker for bone formation.* Also contains important cofactors for bone building - Vitamin D3, K2, Magnesium and Boron.*
As Women, We Want Real Results.
Fembody's advanced nutritional formulas are designed to:
- Address the core health needs of women.
- Utilize scientifically proven breakthrough ingredients.
- Deliver noticeable results.
Breakthrough AlgaeCal® whole-food calcium and Polycan™ Beta Glucan clinically demonstrated to preserve, build and protect for healthy bones.
---------------------------------------------------------
We all have daily worries, but should bone health be one of those worries? I think not. As moms, women, wives, sisters, etc.. we have enough to worry about.
Osteoporosis is a big deal. A VERY big deal.
“The NOF, the leading consumer and community-focused health organization dedicated to the prevention of osteoporosis and broken bones, says that a woman’s risk of breaking a hip is equal to her combined risk of these three devastating female diseases.” Which are Breast, Uterine, and Ovarian Cancer. (From the FemBody Website)
The risk factors for osteoporosis are very well known. Being a female that has gone through menopause and is small framed. Although you can’t control THESE risk factors, there are still steps you can take to reduce your risk.
Exercising as much as you can and taking Vitamin D and Calcium pills. As well as drinking and eating foods with Calcium and Vitamin D in them are some of the steps.
I really liked that it not only preserves and protects your bones, but it also offers 2% in bone material density and 300-400% increase to grow and produce new bone.
I have never seen another product like this before. Not one that can preserve, protect, and help the growth of new bone material.
Osteoporosis runs in my mom’s side of the family. My maternal grandmother had this, and I am pretty sure that I am a good candidate for it. When I am at the age of menopause, I will have all 3 of the risks. I will be female (of course) at the age of (after) menopause) and thin framed.
I want to do everything I can to promote my bone health while I can. I don’t want to have to worry years down the road if I drank enough milk or ate food with enough vitamins to get the protection I need. I don’t want to worry about falling and breaking something.
I used this as instructed on the bottle. 3 tablets daily. 1 tablet in the morning, and 2 in the evening (with food). Although you can’t tell whether your bones are healing (obviously) I did feel much better and stronger when taking the Bone Activator.
I feel that they are being true to their word. I researched the ingredients, and obviously they have what is needed to preserve bone material as well as help with the growth of it.
They are slightly large pills, but they aren’t hard to swallow with water. They also don’t have a strong taste or smell like most vitamins out there. These are all pluses in my book. I hate vitamins that smell like horse hay and get hooked in my throat (gag).
I would recommend these to you. I feel like I am doing good by taking them. I feel way better than I did when I wasn’t. I feel more whole and stronger. I feel like I have more energy and overall in better health.
You can buy them for 39.99 at the Fembody Website here

Obol Review & Giveaway- No More Soggy Cereal
I first heard of Obol on a couple of blogs that I frequently read. Have you heard or seen of this bowl before? I thought the design and invention was amazing.
This bowl is for keeping foods from touching the liquids, so you aren’t eating soggy food. This bowl will keep your food crunchy until the very last bite. It uses a scoop and swoop design to help with the sogginess. You scoop your cereal from the top and swoop it down into the milk.
Although you mostly see people eating cereal in it, it can be used for WAY more that that.
You can use it for
*Cookies and Milk
*Chips and Salsa
*Ice Cream and Cake
*Ice Cream and Berries
*Soup and Crackers… and more
My Review
I love the Obol for it’s soggy free design. I HATE soggy cereal. I would always have to rush and eat it. I love reading while I eat, I always have. I wasn’t able to read and eat cereal before the obol. I had to eat it all up before it became gross and got tossed in the trash.
Adam is always telling me that I muti-task too much. I am guilty of this. I watch tv and read at the same time. I read and eat at the same time. I eat and watch tv. I blog and eat. The obol makes life easier while multi tasking. You aren’t having to focus on just ONE thing, because the Obol’s easy to hold handle keeps it from slipping from your hands. While letting you hold it closer to your body.
When the bowl came, I was surprised at how big it was. I didn’t expect it to be bigger than a regular bowl, but it’s twice the size. As you can see in the picture above, her hand doesn’t even wrap half way across the bowl.
Adisyn and Aidan loved the bowl. They thought it was cool. They ended up using it for carrots and ranch, chips and salsa, and cookies and milk. If you’re a mom or an aunt, grandma, or have friends with kid’s then you know how they hate their food touching. My kids aren’t to that age yet, but I will definitely be prepared when it comes time. This bowl is awesome.
Every time Adam grabs a bowl of cereal, he reaches for the obol. He likes how big it is, and fact that he can put his cereal and fruit in one part and milk in the other. He hates eating soggy fruit, but loves fruit in his cereal. I’m glad he liked it as much as the kid’s did.
Plus it comes in some awesome color choices.
Brookstone. sells this bowl in some amazing bright colors – red, orange, blue, green, and then the standard white.
You can buy the bowl here for $20. Or you can WIN it. Obol is partnering with Me to let one lucky Made.By.Jess reader win their very own Obol.
Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post. All opinions in this post are my own, I wasn’t compensated. I did receive products in exchange for an honest review.

Soldiers Tale Review and Giveaway
I received my CD, unwrapped it, and popped it into the computer. The kids and I gathered around in a little circle. We listened intensely. It is a great story with an even greater lesson.
The story opens with a soldier named Joseph stopping to rest by the roadside as he walks home to his village. Joseph has just taken out his violin and begun to play when an old man appears, offering to trade a mysterious book that can reveal the future in exchange for the violin. When the old man, who is really the Devil in disguise, convinces Joseph that the powers of the book can be used to gain great wealth, the soldier agrees, and the inexorable wheels of this Faustian morality play begin to turn. Joseph eventually recognizes that he has lost his family and friends, and that money does not bring happiness.
"The Soldier's Tale" and other Maestro Classics recordings are available at maestroclassics.com, amazon.com, and other major distributors and retailers.
One of my lucky readers will WIN their very own copy. Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below.

JoonieBeads #Etsy #Handmade Review
I want to introduce you to an awesome Etsy shop who makes handmade jewelry, with an equal awesome owner. =)
Jooniebeads Treasures is about giving every woman the chance to feel special, every day. My goal is to create a host of pieces that add a little something to the daily jeans and Ts or top and slacks and then throw in a bit of sparkle for those special occasions and keep doing it at prices that the every woman can afford.
About Amy- I think the fact that I hate writing about myself probably says more about me than I could ever say in words, but Ill give it a shot. I am an Army wife, retired homeschool mom, artist. I love to read and travel, I would rather be on the beach with my husband than anywhere else. For now though I am usually at home working on my Etsy shops, out honing my photography skills or curled up with my cat reading a good book. We recently moved to Fort Knox, Ky, after 6 years living in Texas and Georgia the cold has me shivering indoors a lot, so I have plans for my shops to grow.
My Review*
I truly believe that a woman should feel beautiful every day of their lives. Not just holidays or special occasions, but every minute of the day. HOW? Wearing jewelry you love of course. When you are wearing something that makes you FEEL confident, you are more likely to BE confident.
I was sent the Dangling Hearts Earrings to review. These earrings are made with gold, silver, and copper hearts dangling from an antique chain. These earrings are an $18 value with only $2 to ship. An Amazing deal if I must say so myself.
As you can see in the picture, it has clasp backs. I love this. I don’t even want to mention how many LOST earrings I have because they just had the regular hook backing. These STAY put no matter what. I even fell asleep in them after a hard night of work, and NO LOST EARRINGS.
I love that they match everything I own. You can wear these earrings with any outfit combination and it wouldn’t look out of place. They just naturally go with everything because of the metals. Even though they ARE made from metals, they aren’t heavy. They don’t weigh down ears and make you feel like you need to take them off after a couple of hours.
I have an allergic reaction to most earrings and other jewelry. I get these little red bumps and my ears itch like CRAZY if I don’t get the right kind. These are obviously the RIGHT kind, because no itchy red little bumps for me.
I enjoyed wearing them. I love the dangle and heart mix. So classic yet so elegant. I had tons of people say they loved them and planned to purchase some in the future (for themselves or for others).
Even if you don’t wear dangles, your sister, daughter, cousin, best friend, or someone else may. These are the PERFECT gift. I loved the way Amy packaged the earrings. They were sent in a box with the cutest little ribbon and personalized owl sticker on it.
I really love all of her handmade jewelry. It looks so classy and stunning and yet isn’t expensive at all.
I love that she mixes it up. She uses metal, fabric, plastic, and wood. This makes shopping fun. I could choose an item for each of my friends, family, and even would be a great teacher gift. (How is there an easier way to shop) when you can find it all in one place and pay low shipping prices?
She makes everything. Whether it be necklaces, bracelets, earrings, or rings.
I really love the turtle earrings and asked Adam to buy them for my birthday next month. WHY? Because when my son was a tiny baby (during the first ultrasound) he looked exactly like those turtles (I SWEAR). =)
I also want to buy the Blue Glass Pearl Bracelet for my mom. She would love it, and is always looking for classy items that aren’t going to break her.
I loved working with Amy. She has such an amazing talent, and she is nice as can be. Shipping was WAY fast. I wasn’t expecting to get anything for at least a week. NOPE.. Mailman showed up unexpectedly. I love that! Ordering an item and it showing up before you THINK it will? Yes, sir. I’m all for that.
I also love that there are so many ways to pay. I only have a paypal account, and there have been plenty of shops I couldn’t purchase from. They missed my business because they didn’t accept paypal.

DENYDesigns Duvet Cover Review & Giveaway $229
About the Owners:
A Denver native, Dustin Edward NYhus is the namesake behind DENY Designs.
But he’s more than just a name. He’s a creator, visionary and he’s got mad skills when it comes to designing and building furniture. It’s in his blood, as he grew up watching his father and grandfather build just about anything and everything.
It inspired him and naturally, he followed in their footsteps. After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design from Metropolitan State College of Denver, he took off to sunny South Florida to design boats for Bertram Yachts. But as we all know, you can take the boy out of Colorado, but you can’t take the Colorado out of the boy. So, Dustin moved back to Denver and spent five years in wholesale manufacturing before he got the brilliant idea to combine his work experience.
Alongside his wife Kim, Dustin created DENY Designs and continues to be the brains behind the operation. You name it, he oversees it. He’s a busy guy living out his dream...and he’s just getting started.
Kim Nyhus, Co-Founder
Originally from South Florida, the creative and fashion-forward Co-Founder of
DENY Designs inched her way to Denver over the last 10 years. How’d she get
there? By way of Dallas, where she attended SMU (go Ponies!) and met her
future husband.. After graduating with a degree in Advertising Management, Kim
decided to move to the freezing cold, all in the name of love. Why else would
she trade 80-degree weather and flip-flops for snowy days and UGG boots? And
thankfully, it was a good move on her part because after working in advertising,
event planning and television production, she ended up marrying Dustin, having
twin boys (the cutest babies ever!) and starting this rockin’ company we call
DENY Designs. Together with Dustin, Kim manages every detail of the company
making sure that their creative vision comes to life from the carefully selected,
highly talented DENY artists to the exclusive line of products that are offered.
About the Company:
DENY Designs is a modern, think outside-the-box company that creates custom furniture and accessories that can be personalized by our customers.
DENY Designs differs from other furniture companies by allowing each customer to customize their purchase. When you order from DENY, you aren’t getting something off a warehouse shelf, instead, you are receiving something completely original for your home and shipped to you on the artist’s behalf.
DENY Designs is for everyone!Don’t like art? No problem, use your own image.
Love art? No worries, DENY has hundreds of images in our Art Gallery for you to choose from.
Indecisive? That’s okay, DENY Designs’ products such as wall art, clocks and BlingBox collections have interchangeable covers to make changing your home décor a breeze!
Don’t believe us? Just check out our flagship product, the BlingBox. It’s a fully customizable hanging jewelry armoire that fits ALL jewelry types. And so far it has received praise from NBC, FOX and the CW.
My Review
I was lucky to get to work with DENY Designs. They are such a fabulous company, selling items from individual artists. They have items for EVERYONE.
I received a Duvet Cover designed by Khristian A. Howell , and I will NEVER NEVER part with it. They may just have to bury me wrapped in it. =)
It is brightly colored on one side, and plain white on the other. It is made with 100% polyester microfiber fabric (Super Soft). And has snaps on one side for closure. You can machine wash this on cold
Custom printed when you order it, this duvet cover is not only personal, but incredibly cozy as well. Created out of microfiber material that is unique to DENY Designs, their duvets are ultra soft and amazingly comfortable.
This Duvet Cover makes getting out the bed in the morning even harder than before. I hardly get any sleep with 2 kids crying out sometimes during the night, and staying up late. So the sleep I do get, I want to be comfortable while doing so.
I have never seen a cover so amazingly designed, comfortable, and soft as well. This cover is HUGE. I love it. It fits around your comforter to make it more soft and cuddly. It has exactly the right blend of materials to make you want to sleep forever.
It spices up my bedroom and gives it AMAZING color. I love the way it looks on my bed. I’ve never had a blanket that was so beautiful.
The blanket I reviewed isn’t on the site, but Valentina is an amazing artist. I love every single thing she has designed.
Here are a few I love.
I could spend all day admiring the skills these artists have. Who wouldn’t want to own these designs? I love them all. They have such a wide selection that it is SO hard to choose just one. Even if you don’t find something that interests you, they give you the option of uploading your own designs on whatever your purchasing.
They have art for everyone. Skulls, Flowers, Splashes of Color, Sketches, Flowers, and more. They also have TONS of choices when choosing items. They have fleece throws, shower curtains, wall art, hanging jewelry boxes, and more.
