Homemade Cleaners: Quick-and-Easy, Toxin-Free Recipes <Book Review>

Disclosure: This was sent for review purposes only. All opinions are completely honest.

I received Homemade Cleaners: Quick-and-Easy, Toxin-Free Recipes to Replace Your Kitchen Cleaner, Bathroom Disinfectant, Laundry Detergent, Bleach, Bug Killer, Air Freshener, and more……” by Mandy O’Brien and Dionna Ford and absolutely loved it.

As a WAHM, I don't have the time to make difficult, complicated cleaning recipes, and I don’t want to spend a ton of money (or time) on buying expensive ingredients. The easy-to-make recipes and no-fuss ingredients in this book definitely give us a chance to ban those chemicals from our homes. We don’t have to go on a wild goose chase trying to find certain ingredients.

My favorite part is that there’s an entire section for PARENTS. If you’ve ever thought “I wonder if there’s a recipe for that?” There is and it’s inside this book. This is definitely the bible for cleaning up after kids.

>>>Sticker Remover, Crayon Remover, Gum remover, Permanent Marker remover…

As a parent it does frighten me at the rate America is consuming + throwing out. It’s pretty ridiculous really. There are recipes, tips, and advice for using less chemicals and going greener.

There is even a detailed chapter on helpful ingredients (washing soda, essential oils, witch hazel, hydrogen peroxide, base oils, etc.) and where to find them. Those items are what sent me running with other natural-cleaning books.  This is seriously like a one-stop-shop for cleaning information + homemade recipes. There’s nothing that they don’t cover.

It’s an amazing book and a must-have on any shelf. There is a HUGE long list of recipes for anything and everything. This is the “cleaning bible” practically. But it’s much more than that- it EXPLAINS how we can be more eco-friendly and WHY we should. You’ll be loving it before the first chapter is up, I’m telling you! <Super Amazing Must-Have.

The very products that you’ve been buying to keep your home clean and healthy can harm you. How insane is that? The best way to avoid anything like that- is by making as many of the cleaning products handmade.

Homemade Cleaners features over 150 recipes that are:
• Toxin-Free
• Simple and Affordable
• Highly Effective
• Environmentally Sound
• Kid and Baby Friendly

Using ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and even vodka, the authors tackle the nitty-gritty of everything from countertop cleaners to air-purifying plants.

Easy to make recipes that are all natural with no chemicals! YES!!
