Mr. President George Washington {Book Review}

image

This book was orginally published in 1904 under the title “A Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents.”  The introduction is copyrighted by Dream Books LLC.

Do American’s really understand what it was like to be the very first President of the United States?

They probably know that he was from Virginia and that his father died when he was 11. They probably know that he didn’t have children of his own and that he married a woman by the name of Martha Custis. But do they know what it was like as a PRESIDENT? The very FIRST president?

This book Mr. President George Washington lets you in on the secrets of what it was like. It is George Washington’s own WORDS and his own writings. I had never before seen this side. To see what it was like to have to stand up to the citizens expectations. It shows a history in which few know and understand.

He wasn’t a boasting type of president. He was always humble and glad to serve his people. He accepted his term with dignity and grace, thankful that his people had chosen him to be leader. He was a general turned president and left behind great accomplishments for other presidents to follow.

This shows how hard it was to be inside the very first inauguration. It had a lot of details planned out such as who came through which door to sit beside who, who hands this to the other, who follows this one to the other room to for the official sign in. It must have been like a screenplay or something.

But overall this book was a good book, but if you get bored reading speeches then this book isn’t for you. It is kind of hard to read it to be just reading it, because of the sophisticated manner in which they used to talk in. The very thought of seeing INSIDE the presidency is what captured me and pulled me in. If  you can read the bible then you can read this. It’s just that I had to google some words to find out what they meant, because I had never seen nor heard of them before. The words were vicissitudes and predilection. But I would recommend this to someone if they were researching him or just wanted to know about him.

He was a very inspirational man and he wanted a lot more for his country than we all knew about. This book lets you understand the sheer depths of this mans love for his country and his people.

This book is available on Amazon kindle for $1.99 if you know someone who would like to have it. It’s perfect for History Junkies or people who just like to learn stuff {Like me}

About “Me”- Monday

I want to give all you “friends” a chance to know me as well as getting to know you. So I am starting this blog hop in hopes that new people will join and those of you who are already here get the most out of blogging. I love sharing and I love for people to get to know the real “me” behind the blog.

Okay- so this doesn’t have to be in order or your birth story or a long and grueling story…
it can be about whatEVER you choose it to be. What you want others to know about you.
If this is a success then I will make a button for it..

If you are interested in co-hosting with me- give me a shout out in my email..

SO- here is mine..

About Me- Monday
My name is Jessica (better known as Jess) or Jessi. I am 21 years old and have already been a mom for 3 years. Young, huh? Yeah I know- but it is all worth it and never do I wish I had something else in life. I believe that everything happens for a reason (either to make you stronger or to make you a better person).

My kids are the center of my world. They make me laugh. they make me cry. and sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out. I love it though. Wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

I spank. YES I said it. I SPANK my kids. Not hard. I don’t beat them or bruise them or make them cry for an hour straight..but I do spank their little butts for doing stuff they know not to, such as trying to stick stuff in the light sockets and crazy stuff that will get them hurt.

I am a NERD and I am proud of it. I love to read and learn. I can’t get enough of it. ALMOST all the time I am reading {when I am not chasing kids} I self teach myself anything I want to know.

If I won a million dollars- I would probably get myself a house with a half studio/ kids playroom. I would help my Grandma and mom out and then donate the rest to literacy funds and sick kids as well as premature babies..

I was born to be a writer. I feel so “enveloped” when writing. It is so hard for me to pour my soul out to someone in spoken words, but buddy give me a pen and some paper and I could just about make anyone love it.

I borrow books from my library and write down “EVERY single word” in the book I check out. Like right now I am teaching myself to design webpages..I know I know. But it’s the way I learn. If I don’t WRITE it, then the words escape from my head…

I wish I had more time to pamper myself. It would be amazing to be able to paint my toes without some of them looking like a preschooler did it..{because in fact I have to keep the toddlers from touching them and trying to steal the nail polish)..

So that’s where I am going to end it.

You can add about you. It can be as long or as short as you want it to be. You can use mine as a template or make up your own. ANYTHING goes…

Hope to get some of you guys interested in this…

ThermaScalp {Review & 25% Discount}

I have had the opportunity to work with an amazing company who make the most amazing products. If you haven’t heard of YouthFul Trends then you have totally been missing out. They also have GreenSations.com

I posted my review about the caffeinated make-up Primer {here}.

You can see the product {here}

A

I really loved it. Not only was it great to keep the make-up sweating off, it also works well as a night-time moisturizer {which helps tone and help your skin}

Then I also had the amazing opportunity to review ThermaScalp. I have had dandruff for as long as I can remember. It really sucked because I would get the prickly tingles that would make my head itch. My HAIR is oily, but because I don’t use conditioner on my roots, and I take like the hottest shower in the world- I got dry scalp.

I loved this product because it comes in a spray bottle {no more getting the products all over your hands) although you could help the spray  out by rubbing it in to your scalp. I used this like an hour before taking a shower. I would put my hair in a ponytail and spray directly on the roots and scalp. I would rub it in and leave it on.

I don’t think you should put it on AFTER showering because it does smell a little..I like my hair to smell CLEAN. and this product doesn’t have the most refreshing smell- but if you put it on before the shower (which is what your supposed to do anyway)..it works amazing.

I used it 3 days in a row and after the second day I had NO itching. I didn’t have the prickly feeling that comes with dandruff, so it really did amaze me.

You can use it once or twice a day. I only used it once a day, but it still worked most amazingly. You could probably use it twice a day and get better results, but even using it once- I was glad I had the product.

I had been trying all kinds of shampoo’s for dandruff and none of them actually stopped the itching.

The reason it works so well is because it increases follicle blood flow, relieves dryness and itching as well as dandruff & irritation and helps with healthy hair growth. It is infused with Caffeine to wake up your scalp. It is guaranteed to stop ANY itch.

My hair means alot to me. It makes me feel so better when I know I have flaw-free hair and that is why I am recommending this product to you, so you can see how amazing it is too.

Or if you want to try any other products they have.. The company is being so generous that they are giving ALL of my readers a 25 percent discount code to use on ANY product on EITHER of their websites. So head on over and use the code {SHEBLOG}

on Youthful Trends or GreenSations website

{which include} {this isn’t all they have though} just showing you SOME.. (they also have make-up)

Jewelry Store USA {Review} & What I made♥

Jewelry Store USA

Jewelry Store USA was so kind to let me review some of their beads.

About Jewelry Store USA:

We have been in the business of beads and findings wholesaler for several years. This year, i decide to move my business to the Internet. Here, in my store, i will sell findings and beads at good prices and my designs in handmade fashion jewelry at great price!

The beads were cute and had so much potential.

When I got them I just kept brainstorming on what these would look best as, and I decided bookmarks and keychains. Although I did make something to hang on my rearview mirror in the trailblazer. {cuz I just HAVE to customize it and make it mine LOL}

They sent me quite a bit of different beads.

Here are some other awesome products they sell. These beads would be perfect for a crafter or just anyone who loves making stuff.

Here are some of the things I created.. {not too much right now} {busy busy} but will make more..

BookMarks & My rearview mirror charm

See? These would make awesome accessories for phone cases and wallets, purses, necklaces, bracelets, and more. You could also add them as a zipper pull…

They have tons of amazing beads..

An opportunity to Serve and Craft

First of all I want to say "Thank You!!" to Jess, for letting me be a guest poster, what a great opportunity to share my thoughts and all the wonderful things I know and find out about with others.
Soooo here's one: If you like to serve and also craft, here is a GREAT opportunity to do so: Tutu Drive 2010...if you want to know more about it go check it out here...all you have to do is make some tutus and send them to her, she posted the address where you can send them. I think it is an awesome chance not just to craft, but
also to do service, and what a better way to do it than to make children happy, right?
 I read the story and as a mother I was heart broken, but also happy to have this opportunity to show love, appreciation, and care about others.
I've been reading her blog for a while, and never took the chance or even read about the Tutu Drive, so if you are interested, you have the chance to make and send the tutus until July 20th, 2010. I know I will be very busy making tutus and also sending the ones I already have made. I never thought I was going to have this amazing opportunity, I have so much tulle left and didn't know what to do with it, my kids have enough tutus and tutu dresses to keep making them more, I can't wait to have them finish and send them. I will post pictures once I am ready to send them all!
If you don't know how to make tutus, go to her web page, she has amazing tutorials in how to make a tutu, I'd make a tutorial too, but there is no much time to do so, and little time to make the tutus I want to send. Let's make some tutus!!!!!
