My little sister found out she was pregnant in January, and then last month found out it was a girl. When I received the email about these beautiful infant car seat covers, I was ON IT! I was excited to show her what I’d gotten for MaKenzi.

There are currently seven designs for the infant car seat covers. I had a hard time choosing which one to get because they were all so adorable! I ended up getting the Zoe Zebra Infant Car Seat Cover though, because I couldn’t resist the way it looks so amazingly blended with the Hot Pink!

We all know that babies aren’t exactly the cleanest at all time. They have diaper blowouts and spit ups.. AND it’s hard to get the manufacturer car seat cover off if you need to wash it (IF you CAN wash it). May of them are flame retardant and can’t be washed.

Have you ever had to take a cover off? Oh Jeez, I felt like I was going to lose my mind when the kids were little and I’d take theirs off. You have to practically break down the entire car seat to get them off. Unbuckling this, taking that off, unsnapping this.. UGH! By the time you’re done, you feel like you could have diffused a bomb in less time.

That’s why Baby Bella Maya was made. These go OVER the car seat covers that come WITH the car seat. That way all you have to do is unsnap it and throw it in the wash if it were to get dirty! Pure Genius and Beautiful at the same time!

I couldn’t wait to open this! I had my mom bring Brandy’s car seat over without her knowing it. (She didn’t know I was even getting this for her).


This cover is absolutely flawless. It is a black and white zebra print with hot pink satin trim! It is an amazing way to update the look of babies car seat without a hassle.

This cover keeps the car seat cover clean. It is easy to figure out how to install all parts (directions come in the package if it’s hard for you to understand how to get the canopy part off).
I love that it came with the arm strap covers as well. This is what keeps baby from getting irritated by the actual straps! AND adorable as well.



It didn’t take me very long at all to put all of this together. I did it by myself in under 10-15 minutes. The canopy part is what caused me the most issues, and it didn’t have anything to do with the covers. It was figuring out how to get the canopy part off so I could take off the old and put on the new.

I loved that it has snaps. It made it SO easy. I didn’t have to take anything off, I didn’t have to unsnap anything, and I didn’t have to unbuckle anything from the actual carseat.


The bottom buckle fits through the opening in the cover. The arm straps fit through the snaps on the cover without having to unbuckle everything and pull it lose like usual.

 

It was very easy, and look at the results!! Beautiful decoration for a new baby that will be here in September. I can’t wait to see her! I just wish I had had this for my daughter…

My Review

Yum, yum, YUM! Frozen Ice Pops, Ice Cream, Gelato, Frozen Yogurt? Why certainly! Mousse, Parfait, Granita, Sorbet, and Sorbet.. Could you make it any better? Ice Cream Sandwiches, Cakes, and Frozen Cocktails.. OMG—YOU did make it better! But wait—there is also Milkshakes AND smoothies to go with that.

Summer has finally arrived… after all the cold, bitter winds, and rain here. I’m pretty sure Mother Nature was trying to make me mad. I do NOT like winter.. I do not like the cold..

I want shorts, tank tops, and sandals, Bonfires, cookouts, lazy days, and swimming. We can’t forget the frozen treats, NOW can we?

The first chapter is “Getting Down to Basics: Technique, Equipment, and Ingredients” that are needed to get the job done. Ice Cream Maker, Blender, Mixer, Candy Thermometer, and Pop Molds. Coffee, Cream, Eggs, Espresso, Fruit Nectar, Yogurt..

I am definitely going to make ALL of these yummy looking Frozen Ice Pops. There are some that I wouldn’t have thought would taste good together—but the ingredients seem to make the right taste. These only require you to have the pop mold and ingredients. Nothing too hard.

All the recipes are easy to understand. They are in a numerical order with the ingredients listed beside. The pictures are scattered throughout the book—so you may need to search for the picture before you make it..

All of the Frozen Cocktails only require a blender and your ingredients. Some of them are classics frozen just the RIGHT way, then there’s the unique names that make you just want to grab that blender and get to blending!

I can’t wait to give these a try! ALL of them. There are more than this in this book as well. I love that there are such a variety and combination of frozen desserts to try. No matter what you’re wanting to fix for that Grill Out, Girls Night in, Fourth of July, or whatever.. They have it!

I’m glad to say that all the mousse recipes, semifreddo recipes, granitas, sorbets and parfaits only require freezing after making. I’m all for mixing and freezing the night before or an hour before (depending on what you’re making(.—that way it makes it easy. I can’t wait to get to TESTING! YUM.

Beauty Review: Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish Spray

As all of you know, I have oily skin. I always have. I am the type of oily that I practically have to exfoliate my facial skin on a daily basis because it seems like oil seeps from my pores. The tanning bed has only made my face 10x worse.

I have to scrub, wash, and then apply a toner for oily skin EVERY morning and night. That’s the reason that I needed to find a great finishing spray because I’d end up VERY shiny after applying my makeup.

This is even when using a primer, liquid, AND finishing with a powder—and then setting it with a spray primer.. DIDN’T help with me getting oily within a couple of hours.

I was excited to give the Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish Spray a try! I had to work with this a little bit. This will work originally with regular “oily” skin by just spraying over your makeup—the oil is GONE! ME? Where I have EXTREME oily skin, I had to go a little beyond just spraying after my makeup was on.

I have been spraying this before AND after I apply my primer, foundation, and setting powder. I’d been spraying it after EACH layer, which made a drastic change in the oiliness in my skin!

My makeup ends up staying on ALL day. It doesn’t get “slick” or look “shiny” even when I’ve been wearing it for a little while. Usually my makeup (especially if I used a liquid THEN a powder) would become caked up. When I use this, it looks so smooth and natural! I really love it!

I loved that I could have a date night with the hubs without having to constantly check my makeup and make sure it hadn’t faded, gotten shiny, or had started running. This really does set it perfectly!

It lasts a long time too, which is something that I love. The less you have to buy- the more you’re saving! If you add up how long you use the product and divide that number by the price—that’s how much you pay PER MONTH! This is $29 for a 4 oz. so $29/4 = 7.25. So you should really look at the QUALITY and how much something lasts rather than looking at the total cost.  Something that costs you $5 may not last the entire month…

It’s summertime and who wants hard, crusty leftover winter feet? Definitely not me. There hasn’t been too many hot days here in Kentucky yet! It’s been more of a rainy season then anything, so I am DEFINITELY ready for the sandals and flip flops to be brought out!

I was excited to try the Foot Cream with Resveratrol. Since back in the winter, I’ve had some very bad dry feet. I was basically pulling my socks off every couple of hours and rubbing lotion on them because the dryness was creeping me out.

I was using tons of regular lotions, extra strength lotions, foot scrubs, foot lotions, etc. Nothing seemed to help. It would ease the dryness for a little while, and then BAM- I could feel the dryness creeping it’s way back in.

I noticed it was getting even worse after getting out of the tanning bed! I would have to slather my feet with lotion before putting my socks and shoes back on. I was getting hardened skin on the sides of my feet and around my toes. It was pretty gross.

Now that summer’s here, I don’t want to be walking around in sandals and have that dryness peaking out at everyone. I wanted something that was going to help for MORE than just an hour. I wanted something I didn’t have to reapply all the time.

This says to apply daily, but when it first came in the mail I was using it about twice a day. I’d put it on after the tanning bed and after my nightly shower/bath.

I was excited to see drastic changes just within the first couple of days. I was soaking my feet in extremely hot water, scrubbing the dryness off with a foot buffer and then applying this. My feet looked 10x better, much to my appreciation!!

This is thicker than most foot lotions and creams on the market, so it stays put for a longer period of time. It instantly softens the skin, and makes it SO silky. The cream is rich and luxurious and smells incredible. Unlike the other foot creams and lotions that mostly smell like INTENSE peppermint—this smells earthy and relaxing (like wine).

This isn’t greasy and doesn’t leave an oily residue. I can put this on and instantly walk around in my sandals without slipping and sliding. Because it doesn’t have an intense “MINT” smell, I can wear this during the day—which is a HUGE plus!

The dryness stays gone until I use it again. Not only does it help soften the skin, dryness, and cracked sides of my feet. IT helps to HEAL it, so you’re getting help with the issue instead of something that just masks it.

My Review

This is definitely a book that I wish I’d had when my kids were younger. It’s an amazing book for any mom that adores her kids, the milestones, the “baby” and “childhood” feats that she’s mastered and definitely needs to celebrate it when the kids are tucked in for the night.

I love that at the beginning of the book there is (instead of a table of contents) there’s a “FEAT” list. You can skim through—find what feat you’ve successfully mastered and toast to yourself!! GREAT job mom!

The writing is quirky, humorous, and knows how us moms need a pat on the back for the “great job.” Only another parent would understand these tasks that we defeat such as “enjoying a night out with the kid without a meltdown”, “surviving a supermarket meltdown”, and surviving being up all night with a sick kid”.

Each drink starts out with a feat such as “surviving your first ER trip” but at the top they always give it a quirky name—this one’s name is “Panic Free Zone-tini.” Then it goes into the story of how frightening it must have been, but everything was fine. Although you were still WORRIED to death. THEN it shows the reward which is called :The Pain Killer:

They are broken down into different feats such as bedtime feats, food feats, medical feats, bathroom-related feats, transitions/first feats, school feats, chore/discipline feats, mom-specific feats, out-and-about feats, festive feats, kids will be kids feats, and in the great outdoors feats.

The drinks are fun, unique, and seem to be VERY tasty. Not all of them have picture, but the ones that do have pictures—look beautiful! I can’t wait to get to mixing these concoctions for myself.

Although I don’t deserve getting through the year’s class ceremony without crying. When Aidan graduated Kindergarten last Friday- as soon as I walked into his classroom tears welled up in my eyes!! I couldn’t help it, they grow up too fast!

Vine Vera Red Wine Skin Care: Resveratrol Dark Circle Eye Cream Review

I love watching Dr. Oz. It’s an amazing way to learn how to be healthy, the do’s and don’ts of many things, and HOW certain things are good for you and why they help.
Recently I’d seen the episode of Red Wine in skincare and HOW beneficial it is for your skin. The reason Red Wine is so beneficial is 1. The alcohol and 2. The resveratrol.

The resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant that is produced from the skin of grapes. You can only get this antioxidant from red wine, because the vintners put the grape skins back into the red wine to make it, but NOT white wine.

The resveratrol actually helps your skin from aging by turns on a system in your body to prevent it. BUT 80% of the benefit from Red Wine in skincare is actually the alcohol and the other 20% from resveratrol. Dr. Oz KNOWS what he’s talking about, so I listen.

When I got a chance to review 2 items from the Vine Vera skincare line, I was jumping through the roof! OF COURSE, I would be- who doesn’t want beautiful skin?

I ended up choosing the Resveratrol Dark Circle Eye Cream, which I will tell you about first. “This cream will immediately reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes.”
Directions: Gently apply cream to area under eyes and along orbital bone using ring finger. Use daily for optimal results.

The Vine Vera Resveratrol Dark Circle Eye Cream comes in an amazing brown/white box that has a magnetic closure on the front. I love that! I can take the eye cream out of the box and use the box for something else!

I am a mom, so of course I have dark circles under my eyes. I have probably since the day since my son was born, and they probably got darker when I had my daughter. Having kids means you juggle the kids, cleaning the house, work, laundry, and a million other things!
This can make me extremely exhausted very quickly! I work from home, so I have to basically wait until they are asleep to start working. This means long nights and early mornings which adds to the puffiness.

I’ve tried many other dark circle treatments and they didn’t work out so well for me. I had to end up hiding them with a concealer before putting my makeup on. I wouldn’t even wear makeup most of the time in the summer if it weren’t for the dark circles. Who wants to have to check to see if they’ve sweated their makeup off every 20 minutes? I sure don’t!

The skin under our eyes is basically the thinnest skin on our body. It all those sleepless hours, all that exhaustion, and if you are dehydrated? It’ll show that as well. Who wants to wear THAT darkness all day?

I love that this is like a metallic copper looking color. Just the packaging is refreshing and unique. It has a screw on top, which is awesome for me because if we go somewhere over night- THIS will come with me and I know it won’t spill out in my overnight bag.

I’ve been very religious applying this under my eyes twice a day since I’ve gotten it. I put it on before I go out in the morning after I wash my face, and then again at night after my cleansing ritual and before my night cream!

The resveratrol helps to reduce inflammation, to prevent damage to blood vessels, and help keep blood clots at bay. This stay up late, get up early mom can use all the help she can get with puffy inflated, dark circles, and under eye bags.

I love when caps like these are put over a skincare product, It keeps the skincare from getting everywhere and creating a mess. It also keeps the insides from getting on top of the lid, which means there is more to use!

When I opened the eye cream, it looked like this. A pale tinted copper/light brown lotion like cream. It is very rich, creamy, and luxurious. It feels so silky when I rub it under my eyes, and the coolness of the cream immediately makes it feel like the inflammation and puffiness has gone down.

It smells incredible too. Have you ever just been sitting at home with your feet kicked up, had a really good book to read and a glass of red wine in your hand? Relaxation at it’s best huh? YES! Well imagine swirling the glass of red wine and taking a sniff before you take a sip. That’s exactly what this smells like!

The best part about it is that it only takes mere seconds to put this on. The amount on my fingertip in the picture is enough for both eyes. I’ve also been putting this above my eyes as well as beneath!
I noticed the next morning when I woke up and got out of the shower that YES! The dark circles did look like they weren’t as visible as they were the night before, and my eyes didn’t seem so puffy.

Storm and tornado season is in full swing, and each year, the United States gets an average of 5.9 hurricanes, 1,000 tornados and 10,000 severe thunderstorms. To help educate people about how best to prepare for mother nature’s unknown, STA-BIL and Generac have created the following tips that people can do now to prepare should a natural disaster strike.

Before the storm

1. Listen to the news and local forecasts to give yourself as much notice as possible

2. Secure a back-up generator, such as a Generac portable generator to be operated safely out of doors

3. Make sure your generator is in working order by checking the oil and adding fresh fuel with a bottle of  STA-BIL Ethanol Treatment to keep the fuel fresh and combat damage from ethanol in today’s gasoline

4. Run the generator for a few minutes. If the generator does not start, add a bottle of Start Your Engines! Fuel Revitalizer to clean the carburetor and intake valves and get the engine up and running quickly

5. Create a storm kit of must-have items, such as a battery operated radio, flashlights, batteries, candles, matches, bottled water, blankets, non-perishable food, can opener, first aid kit, list of phone numbers, prescription medications and games to pass the time

When a storm is on its way

1. Listen to the news to keep updated on the storm’s status

2. Obey evacuation directions in dire situations

3. Make sure your cell phone is charged and keep a charger with you

4. Set your refrigerator and freezer controls to the coldest settings to keep food longer should the power go out

5. Fill your car’s gas tank just in case you need to drive to safety

6. Take out a reasonable amount of cash in case ATMs are out of order

7. Tie down any large objects outdoors that may get thrown during a storm (e.g. patio furniture, toys) and place valuables inside in a safe place off the floor

8. Ensure a supply of water for sanitary purposes by filling your bathtub, sinks and other large containers with water

When a storm is in progress

1. Stay indoors and away from windows or glass doors

2. Take refuge in a small interior room or closet or below ground if possible

3. Listen to the news for updates and directions on how to proceed
