My Review

I love straightening my hair. I love the way it makes my hair so sleek and shiny, but it the damage can be EXTREME- It can burn or singe your locks.  If you want to protect your hair and keep it from looking damaged, dried out, or burned- you need to have a really good product to protect you.

I seriously think the Shielo Antioxidant Leave-in Protectant is the answer. Why? Because it is designed with antioxidants that fortify your hair. UV Protectants and natural antioxidants from White Tea enhance color protection. This keeps the sun from bleaching your hair or lightening it too much, and damaging it. It keeps you hair smooth and shiny while protecting your hair from the heat of styling tools, whether it be blow dryer, curling iron, or straightener. The shea butter adds a protective barrier to seal the hair shaft, keeping moisture in and damage out.

Mist into towel-dried hair, and comb from root to end. I also sprayed it on my hair when it wasn’t all the way dry and then blow-dried it. It left me with AMAZING hair. The organic extracts in this leave-in are unbelievable. It keeps my hair smooth all day. Even if it does start frizzing because of heat in the summer (when summer comes), you can spray this in your hair many times during the day.

I love that I spray this in and style later, and it makes my hair EXTREMELY more manageable than if I hadn’t used it. Last year you couldn’t catch me straightening my hair (maybe 2 times ALL YEAR.)   I didn’t want it damaged because when I cut my hair, I donate it to the Locks of Love. I didn’t want to give them anything but the best. So I stop styling my  hair with heat, and stopped dying it. I had tried different protectants but all I got was oily hair. So the best thing for me was to just stop using heat.

I also use this as a detangler, although I don’t get many now that my hair is shorter, but god how I wish I had heard of this when I had super long hair and kids. I don’t even WANT to mention how many tangles I got because I was constantly throwing my hair in a messy bun to keep the kid’s from pulling it.

 

Since this New Years, I have been styling with a blow dryer here and there, a straightener just about every other day, and a curling iron weekly. I love that I can just re-spray this in and re-straighten it. Or Spray it in before blow-drying and then again before straightening or curling.

My hair felt nothing but clean, fresh, and invigorating when using Shielo. I have NEVER have a hair product work so well for me. I love how STRONG it is as a protectant but yet LIGHT on your hair. Leaving me with flowing hair that I love, without the oiliness of other protectants.

The Root Lifting Flexible Design Hair Spray

Volumizing hair spray designed for enhancing lift and structure. It has a weightless design, which is used for for creating flexible voluminous styles. Provides soft to medium hold.

My Review

I hate hair spray’s that pin your hair to your head and will NEVER EVER move no matter what. I like my hair to look natural and flexible. I want my hair to be able to be brushed through the day, not so stiff that I think my brush might actually fly into a million pieces all the while tearing my hair to pieces.

I didn’t EVER actually curl my hair before Shielo. I wanted to- I desperately did, it just never worked for me. My curls would fall out within the hour, and I would be left with hair that just looked messy and slouchy. Not my thing, so I avoided it altogether. I hated trying to style with hairspray because my hair would end up tangled and smelling like aerosol.

With the Shielo hairspray, I was in love. I didn’t have to spray very much (which makes it last FOREVER it seems). I didn’t have to spray it on every single curl. I just spritzed some in my hair before I curled it, and wa-lah. Done deal, done right. They couldn’t have made me happier. You just don’t know how long I have searched for a product like this. I have always wanted to have curls that didn’t sag, look messy, or plain didn’t take at all.

With shielo, I actually had fun styling my hair. It wasn’t a CHORE like it is with so many other products.. I literally hated it because in the end I would end up getting frustrated with the end result and just re-washing my hair.

I have been using Shielo for OVER a month now, and was always satisfied. See the above pictures? These are the only pictures EVER with curls in my hair. The curls stayed ALL day, even after I threw my hair in a ponytail to give the kids a bath. After I took it down, I brushed it and the curls popped back into place.

I love love love this. I have NEVER found a flexible hair spray actually so flexible. Sure, a lot of companies talk big game, but that’s it. They didn’t walk the walk for me. My hair was still not at the point I wanted it be with the other’s. Shielo doesn’t BRAG, they SHOW, and that’s what I love about a company. A willingness to let their CUSTOMERS talk for them, and I sure will.

You can buy an eight ounce bottle for $18.99. SO you aren’t only getting an awesome product, but you are getting it CHEAP. and I mean CHEAP CHEAP. I haven’t seen a price on something this awesome in a long time. Most companies want to talk all that smack and charge $30 for hair spray, when in reality, cheap is better in this circumstance.

Why pay more, when you don’t have to? I love finding awesome products that I can add to my daily beauty regimen that doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I have kids, and I couldn’t possibly spend more on hair products then I should. I have a budget and want to stick to it.

Even when just straightening my hair, I used the hair spray. I sprayed it on (after the leave-in) and got to styling. My hair was never frizzy, always clean looking, and held place all day.

I usually have the problem with FLAT hair on top. I don’t know why, but I’ve tried other root lifters and they didn’t work as well. They left the roots of my hair greasy, and who wants greasy hair? With Shielo, it has Strong Keratin and wheat amino acids to boost the hair from the root. The soy protein provides structure for thin or weak hair.

So your not only getting a hair spray, your getting a root lifter AND volumizer all in one.. All for under $20. Who could argue with that?

The kids and I had fun putting these together. They were so all over me though, I couldn’t take pictures. They wanted them AS SOON as I pulled the Wuggle Pet box out of the shipping box.

It was easy to do. Most toys these days come with complicated instructions. Not this one. All you have to do is take the animal, place it on the nozzle of the “fun filled factory”, Pull the orange thing out of the “factory” and put your stuffing, magic dust, and personality bubbles inside. Then you turn the handle, and you can feel the stuffing start flowing inside the stuff animal. Then you zip it, and wa-lah. You have an adorable little animal.

You get to customize each animal by putting as little or as much magic dust in each one, Put the “personality” Bubbles inside, and name it on it’s Birth Certificate. The bubbles say “caring” and “shy” and different cute little personality traits. This way each child feels their animal is made by them.

Aidan got the puppy, and Adisyn got the Unicorn. My kids are still too young to think of unique names so their animals are “Horsey” and “Blue”. The Unicorn being “Horsey” and the Dog being “Blue.”

Adisyn packed hers around all night. I couldn’t believe she played with it that long. She usually plays with a different toy every 20 minutes. You can always find her digging in the toy box and bringing new toys in the living room every time. She didn’t though. “Horsey” was right beside her.

Aidan thought it was cool to clip the dog to his belt. He jumped up and down to see the dog flip flop for about 5 minutes. He then wanted me to unclip it, and clip it on everything in site. I thought it was cute. He doesn’t usually do stuffed animals. He is more a matchbox car boy.

My Review
Facial Cleansing has been brought to a new exciting level with Exfoliating Minerals. I have been struggling with Combination skin all my life. Oily on my nose and lower jawbone, and dry on  my forehead and cheeks. I tried every facial cleanser available and nothing worked until now. Some left my skin too oily, other’s too dry. Nothing worked like I  needed it to. Exfoliating Minerals worked perfectly.
Your not really supposed to exfoliate your skin every day because it isn’t good for the skin. You are supposed to do it maybe 3 times a week at the most because dirt build-up doesn’t happen everyday and it could hurt your skin. The Exfoliating Minerals face wash is only made with natural ingredients, and it doesn’t have the exfoliating beads, so you can use it 2 times daily if you wish.
Exfoliating with Exfoliating Minerals is extremely easy. You do not have to use very much because it is watery. It rubs in with ease, and has an awesome citrus smell. The citrus wakes up my brain in the morning, and leaves me with smooth feeling skin. I placed a dab on a wet warm washcloth, and rubbed it in tiny circles. The warm washcloth is an exfoliator by itself. The fabric in the washcloth naturally rids of dirt and build-up. So mixed with the facial cleanser, I was one smooth faced woman. =)
I used it daily, most of the time 2 times a day. I hate washing my face with soap and the other face cleansers weren’t working GREAT. I mean, they kept me from breaking out, but most were drying out my skin. I didn’t like this because I was having to use twice as much moisturizer before putting makeup on. If I didn’t I would notice my makeup beginning to peel and shed in my dry areas. With this face cleaner, I don’t have to worry about it. My make-up doesn’t shed, and I don’t have to keep dabbing at my oily area’s.
The Exfoliating Minerals wash has AHA in it. If you don’t know what AHA is, it is Alpha Hydroxy Acids. It is well known in the cosmetic industry, because it helps reduce wrinkles, reduces signs of aging, and gives a better overall look and feel to skin. It removes dead skin cells, increases collagen production, and improves texture.
Exfoliating Minerals has hit face cleaning right on the dot. How could I not love a product that truly cleanses without over drying, or leaves my face oily? Now I can wear my make-up with pride and not have to constantly check it. It is a little on the expensive side because it is “natural” and doesn’t contain chemicals, but it lasts a VERY long time.
It is the BEST of the BEST, very awesome product that I would say would be a great gift for those diva’s in your life. Whether it’s yourself, your daughter, or a best friend. They will continue to thank you for this, because their overall facial look will continue to improve.

My Review
When I first got my laptop, I instantly was online looking for recipes. I needed new ideas for my growing kids to eat. I didn’t want to get them used to eating the same thing every week. I was on a MAJOR hunt. So now, I have 4 binders full of recipes along with like a million books. I have a million recipe cards, along with the same amount of magazine pages that I’ve torn out.
I thought I would try and organize it all, but it just wasn’t working. I bought binders, sheet dividers, and tab dividers. I labeled each one- drinks, breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, and desserts. I ended up with so many that I had to get a binder for each different label. This wasn’t that organized though. I still had problems finding what I needed to find.
I was hoping to find a software that would help me keep track of all the recipes I was using because half the time, I wouldn’t remember that I had it, and would waste ink re-printing a recipe that I already had. This is how my grandma also ended up with a million recipe binders. =)      I don’t have to waste that ink now though, Cook’n is better than I could have ever imagined A recipe software to be.
Do you know how hard it is to keep all this organized though? Really hard. I can bookmark a page in the binder or book, but soon forget which book or binder it was in and have to search for it all over again. This was driving me crazy. I could never keep anything in just one place, because there was so much.
My cluttered nightmare is no longer an issue now that I have Cook’n. It is more than I ever wished in a Recipe Organizer.

Search the internet- I have found recipes online a million times and then never be able to find it again. I wouldn’t be able to find the EXACT recipe. Other’s like it, but not the same one. With Cook’n you can type in a recipe from the main page and search the internet. It then shows 10-12 different pages with 10-15 recipes on each page. You can search through and find the recipe you like best and then capture it. [Just click the Capture button at the top of the Cook’n Software] It then saves it right into your software.
It then allows you to place the recipe into the Category you want it to be in.. [beverages, Main Dishes, Appetizers..] It doesn’t just save the ingredients. It saves EVERYTHING. It saves prep time, cook time, serving size, directions, and also nutrition information. Then you can save and view it. It then shows you your source for the recipe at the bottom of the page (so you know where you got it).
I also love how it let’s you search the internet for items that you already have in your house. You just enter what ingredients you already have and it searches the internet for your keywords, then you can narrow it down to find what fit’s perfectly for your family.

I haven’t yet discovered everything on the software yet. There are so many features and so many fun ways to discover something new. I hadn’t even heard of most of the recipes that come with the software. My family has enjoyed so many of these recipes, that I know we will keep them in our monthly menu’s.
Menu Making is no longer a problem for me. I had millions of pieces of paper laying around with grocery lists, and new recipes I wanted to try. More than likely they all ended up lost in my million papers that need filing. I’m not going to lie, I am unorganized. That’s why getting organized is one of my New Year’s Resolutions this year. I desperately need a filing cabinet for everything. Cook’n just made one less filing cabinet though. I was going to get a small one to put in the kitchen under the cabinet, but not anymore.
I love the way they let you choose your own templates for recipes. You can leave it the way it is, or juice it up. I wanted to leave mine blank because I don’t want to spend a fortune printing stuff, but I love that I can change it if I want.  I am planning on making everyone in my family a recipe binder this year, and want to make it colorful and fun. I will be using templates on theirs.
I love it, and I know you will also. This is making TONS of mom’s more sane, have more free time, and more time to experience other things besides spending hours on weekly/monthly menu plans.
