Design and Display:
The device features a vegan leather back, providing a premium feel and improved grip. It boasts a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant colors and smooth visuals.
Performance:
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, the Moto G Stylus 5G handles daily tasks efficiently. However, it may struggle with more demanding applications compared to higher-end models.
Camera:
The smartphone is equipped with a 50MP main rear camera featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 13MP ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera is 32MP. While the main camera performs well in good lighting conditions, low-light performance is average.
Battery Life and Charging:
With a 5,000mAh battery, the Moto G Stylus 5G offers impressive battery life, lasting over 40 hours on a single charge. It supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, which is notable at this price point.
Software and Updates:
The device runs on Android 14. However, Motorola's commitment to only one year of Android updates is a downside, especially when competitors offer longer support periods.
Additional Features:
The built-in stylus has reduced latency, enhancing responsiveness for note-taking and drawing. The device also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, adding to its versatility.
Pricing:
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is priced at approximately $400, positioning it competitively within the mid-range smartphone market.
Conclusion:
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) offers a compelling package for those seeking a mid-range device with a stylus, a vibrant display, and long battery life. However, limited software support and average performance in demanding applications may be considerations for potential buyers.
It is really nice and sturdy, stylish, and well equipped. I haven't had it very long and I'll keep updating as time goes on.
Fingerprint scanner/sensor...
I had the Moto G Stylus 2022 for 2 years before updating to this one. I have noticed that the 2022 version has a fingerprint sensor inside the power button. It literally made my life so much easier. I was expecting the same for the 2024 but this version has an ON SCREEN reader and if you have a screen protector it blocks the reader. I like the 2022 version fingerprint scanner/ sensor better. If they were going to make it on screen they should've taken into account that people would have screen protectors on the phone. 🤳
