As bloggers, we ask the same question every time – where are the best places to submit giveaways? Where will the giveaways will get seen by people who want to enter? But isn’t spammy and gets considerable traffic?

If you’re a blogger, she will let you submit your giveaway for free. You can pay just a small amount to be promoted at the top of the site as well. (which is better because MANY people are looking to her for the most amazing giveaways). You’ll find everything- gift cards, money, electronics, kitchen gadgets, cloth diapers…etc. SO much more.

Beast Quest Series by Adam Blade

We were sent 3 Beast Quest Series books for review. My son is 7 and can’t really read chapter books yet, so I read them to him. It’s a great way to spend time together and he loves the stories. My stepson is 12 and can read them without help, and he loves them too.

We loved reading about the different characters and the journey of Tom. Inside the book are amazing little drawings which gave my kids a hint as to what they look like. It isn’t a picture book, but the illustrations throughout the book are amazing!

The stories are filled with fun adventures and tons of action. These book series totally make my seven year old want to read a little faster so he can be like his big brother. This thrills me to no end, I want my kids to love reading and these book series really help. It shows them that books are journeys into another world and is fun. These are just the right length for their age. It isn’t too long, but keeps them entertained and wanting to turn the next page, and the next.. they are very addicting. Plus, each book has 4 trading cards in the back… how cool!

 

These short chapter books center around Tom, the courageous boy hero, Elenna, his strong-willed friend and expert archer, and their trusted companions, Storm the jet-black steed and Silver the danger-sniffing wolf, as they venture across the Kingdom of Avantia.

Within each subseries, Tom and Elenna encounter new worlds, dangerous challenges and deadly Beasts cursed by the Evil Wizard Malvel’s power.  Although the series is numbered, each book is a stand-alone story and comes with a collectable trading card perfect for engaging reluctant readers, encouraging conversations with friends or just getting kids excited about the next Beast Quest book.

Creating your own phone case is very simple. You download the software (the code comes inside the box), design your skin, insert your Neato skin into your printer, and done! I took a different step, I didn’t use my printer.



I whipped out my paints and let my kids help me design the cases. It was a good way to spend some creative time together, and they had tons of fun! I did too. I coached the kids on what to do after they chose their colors, we had all kinds of fun designs after we were done.


I wrote the “Stylish Southern Mama” and let my kids paint the colors by tracing over it. They also drew me a “flower” at the bottom. How awesome. There isn’t a case that you can’t have with this. We made all 5 with paint.

 
 
See all the cool designs they made? I proudly display these on my phone. They are something I can keep long after my S4 is outdated.

They are easy to apply (like a sticker), and easy to remove as well. I love that I can peel them off without them leaving behind sticky residue. The case looks as clear as it did before I ever applied the skin. A+ from us!! We love it.

You can also do a Google Search for “Samsung Galaxy S4 backgrounds” if you aren’t up to designing your own. I just like to create stuff, so I decided to paint. The possibilities are absolutely endless. Whatever you like, you can add it to the skin and sport your “unique” love of horses, flaming hearts, your Christmas Holiday family picture…

Glow Inside & Out During Colder Seasons

With frigid weather ahead, many people are already thinking about bundling up but what about your skin? Fall and Winter weather encourages everyone to cozy up, but what about what it does to your skin? Nina Curtis, a beauty expert with Blendtec, has developed recipes—both edible and topical—that are perfect for beating the cold weather skin blues. Her recipes can help combat dry or chapped skin, add moisture to your body, and more.

All ingredients should be organic as much as possible.

Glowing skin begins from the inside out…Enjoy this smoothie a few times a week.

1. Skin Rejuvenating Smoothie

 

Yield: approximately 4 cups

1. 2 cups water or young Thai coconut water

2. 1 cup organic red grapes (frozen)

3. 1 medium orange, peeled

4. 1 ripe banana

5. 6-8 leaves organic romaine lettuce

6. 2 tablespoon lemon juice

7. ½ inch ginger root            

8. Pinch of Pink Himalayan salt, re-mineralizes the body with minerals and trace elements essential to our health and wellbeing. (optional)

Add liquid first into the Blendtec Wildside vessel, then combine all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Place any remaining smoothie in a glass jar and store in the refrigerator up to 24 hours.

The Blendtec ‘Twister’ Vessel is ideal for making all kinds of skincare products and it’s just the right size.

Keep your skin and hair moisturized, conditioned, hydrated and toned with the following whole food recipes during the fall/winter months.

 

1. Weather Protecting Skin Sloughing Cream

This delicious sloughing cream will remove built up dead skin cells while keeping the skin smooth and moisturized during the colder months.

Ingredients:

1 oz. Organic Almond Oil

1 tablespoon raw, organic honey (contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes)

1tablespoon avocado

1 teaspoon raw almonds

½ teaspoon raw sunflower seeds

Combine all ingredients except the avocado in the Blendtec Twister Vessel to make a paste. Add the avocado in last and blend until smooth.

On a cleansed skin, slather the sloughing cream all over your face and neck (avoid the eye area), using upward and outward circular motions. Massage gently for a few minutes, rinse well with tepid water, pat skin dry and apply your moisturizer. Place any remaining sloughing cream in a glass jar with lid and store in the refrigerator up to two weeks. Apply sloughing cream once to twice a week as needed.

 

2. Fruit & Honey ‘Tone Up’ Mask

This fruit & honey mask will smooth, brighten and tighten the skin.

Ingredients:

1 cup red grapes

½ pear

½ apple

1 tablespoon raw organic honey

1tablespoon chia seeds (soaked overnight in two tablespoons of water, to create gel)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine all of the ingredients into the Blendtec Twister Vessel except the chia seed gel and honey, and blend until smooth. Mix the chia seed gel and honey together in a bowl, then add the fruit mixture from the blender and stir until smooth.

Apply this mask all over your face and neck and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water, pat skin dry and apply your moisturizer. Place any remaining mask in a glass jar with lid and store in the refrigerator up to two weeks. Apply mask once to twice a week as needed.

3. Hands Down Skin Smoother

During fall and winter our overall skin condition can take a beating and our hands tend to suffer the most. This skin smoothing mask with keep your hands soft and supple. Just apply your favorite hand cream or body lotion to finish.

Ingredients:

1 over -ripe tomato

1 teaspoon wheat germ oil or almond oil

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine all of the ingredients into the Blendtec Twister Vessel and blend until smooth.. Use one tablespoon of the mixture and rub over both hands as if you were washing them, work the mixture in for a few minutes, the longer the better, rinse off and apply your favorite hand cream….Voila!

Store any remaining product in a glass jar with lid and keep in the refrigerator up to two weeks. Use at least two times a week for best results if your hands are really dry.

4. Weekly Restorative Hair Treatment

This hair conditioning treatment is ideal if your hair is dry, brittle or has a lot of split ends.

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado (mashed)

2 tablespoon raw organic honey

2 tablespoon virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon flax oil

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine all ingredients except the avocado into the Blendtec Twister Vessel and blend until the honey, oils and lemon juice are blended completely (emulsified). Add the mashed avocado and blend until smooth.

Apply to dry hair paying close attention to damaged ends. Cover the hair with a shower cap and then wrap with a bath towel, this will hold in your natural body heat and allow the treatment to penetrate the hair cuticle better. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse well and shampoo then rinse. Ideal for weekly use.

I don’t know about you, but music is an essential part of my life. I listen to music just about all day, and that includes when I take a shower or bath. The Abco Tech Bluetooth Shower Speaker comes in an assortment of amazing designs and makes it SO easy to jam while in the shower.

This is a decent speaker, the sound is actually amazing for a speaker of this size. It doesn’t static very often, and picks up a variety of stations which I love. The bluetooth pairs instantly, so you aren’t trying to connect while rushing to jump in the shower for work in the morning. Anytime your phone comes near the phone and it’s on, it will pair instantly after the first connection, which is pretty cool.

I love that I can choose a playlist, listen to the songs I love and skip songs I’m not in the mood for. Before I got this, I’d bring my cell phone into the bathroom and have to listen to whatever was on that playlist. I could’nt grab the phone and change the song while in the middle of a shower. It was inconvienient to do so while taking a bath too, especially since I sit the phone on the counter so I don’t do something stupid and accidentally knock it in the water.

It’s cool to just push a button if I’m not feeling the song, keeps shower time from being boring. It charges with a standard micro USB plug, so you can plug it into your computer USB port. If you have a smartphone that has the disconnecting wall plug, you can connect the speakers USB port into the wall port and charge it like that. Pretty simple and charges extremely fast. The battery isn’t VERY long, but since it comes with a charging cable it doesn’t really matter.

Ever had an important call come in the middle of your shower? What did you do? Let the voicemail pick it up because you didn’t want to risk slipping and breaking an arm? lol. Or did you get out of the shower sopping wet, dry off, just to return the call? What if you didn’t have to do all that? You don’t with this speaker. You can answer calls right from the shower. It’s pretty cool. No more interrupted showers!!

There are only two cons to this speaker. One is that when you turn it on and use FM, it restarts to the beginning of the stations. So you’ll have to search through the stations to find your favorite. I wish it stayed on the same that I was listening to, but it isn’t a big deal either way.

The other is the speaker level. If you adjust the speaker to JUST the right volume for your shower, you’ll have to do it every time. When you turn the speaker off it resets the speaker memory, that has has to be adjusted as well. It doesn’t take a couple seconds, but it can frustrate those in a hurry. It isn’t a problem for me because I take extra time to get my during and after shower stuff ready. If I was in a rush, I probably wouldn’t even think about listening to music in the first place.

It’s definitely worth the money.

Music is more than just words with a beat; music is emotion and provides us with inspiration. A good song can help us be happier, run faster, think clearer and love better. From the outrageous and irreverent to sexy and courageous, MMMDI showcases and celebrates the stories we all have of music inspiring us to do anything and everything.

Music is a huge part of my life, it inspires me in so many aspects of my life. Whether it be writing, exercising, or relaxing, music gets me where I need to be. Music is my muse, and you’ll find me throughout the day with headphones in or my laptop cranking out some jams. Music is actually what inspired me to become a writer in the first place.

I started out writing poems based off lyrics of songs, and moved my way up. Choosing a playlist, sitting down, and just letting the music inspire my creative vision. I mostly listen to rock music when I’m writing. My favorite bands are Stone Temple Pilots, Metallica, Disturbed, and Shinedown. Rock music moves my soul, and I can’t live without it. Sure I listen to other genres; especially when I’m doing something else. But Rock is my writing muse. It speaks to me in a way that nothing else does.


The guitars, bass, and amazing vocals draw me in. I can’t focus in silence. Rock songs inspire me because they are more real, down-to-earth, and speak to my heart. Music is extremely important to my day-to-day life. I probably wouldn’t know what to do without myself without the amazingness of music. Writing is my passion and music is what brings forth all those words I want to spew. I listen to EVERYTHING; I love music as a whole.

Whatever feeling I’m feeling at that moment, whatever needs to be said-- I can find the motivation for what I want to write in a song. Music inspires memories and is actually proven to help the learning process. Whatever memory or emotion I’m trying to conjure or conquer can be found within those favorite songs saved to my beloved “Jam” playlist. The music “turns” on my ability to write, even when I’m not writing something personal. I can write a round-up, craft tutorial, or even pitch letters quicker.


If you sit and think about it, music is everywhere we go; Home, car, job, and even stores now. It makes us want to get up and move or sit back and close our eyes, depending on what we’re listening to. Music and imagination is what started this blog, without them I’d be someone else completely.

Music also inspires me to be free. I love to turn on some R&B, Rap, or old blues music and just lose myself. It makes working out 1000x better. Keeps my mind on something other than the million things I have to do, just brings out energy and motivation to get moving!

I don’t have to get up and look every 5 minutes to make sure they aren’t trying to wreck havoc and pull out all the toys. It has an impressive range of up to 200 meters with an out of range warning, so that I know the boundaries reach. That’s pretty cool.

Remotely controlled Pan, Tilt, & Zoom

I love that this has the remote capability with it. Do you know how awesome it is to be able to have a clear view of the entire playroom? I can move the camera around with the monitor to see the entire room. It has all 4 buttons; up, down, right, and left. No matter where my kids are in the room, I can see them at all times. Makes it so much easier to focus on my work without stressing about what they’re up to. It even has a zoom feature, which works extremely well.

Two-way Communicating

It also has two-way communication, which is top-notch. Not only can I hear every little thing they say- I can talk to them. I had issues of them fighting over toys, arguing and such. Now if I hear it, I can warn them that they are about to sit in time out if I hear them arguing again or taking something away from each other. It works so well, that in fact my kids tried to get me to let them use it as a walkie-talkie when we were at supper, haha. Nope, don’t think so.

No Dropped or Mixed Signals, EVER!

The 2.4GHz FHSS technology of this antenna is superb and offers a more reliable wireless connection over previous versions, such as the 900MHz. We have cell phones and wireless internet, and there have never been any mixed signals or the monitor picking up any different signals. No weak or dropped signals either, so that’s a win. Knowing that I’m not missing anything (think of a mixed cell phone signal how the people cut in and out). There has definitely been absolutely none of that. Nothing but pure amazingness from this monitor.

Infared Night Vision

I also set this up in my sons room when he’s sleeping. He’s 7 but I’m pretty sure he has sleep apnea. There are times that he’s falling alseep beside me and scared me almost to death. It sounded like he was randomly getting short of breath, gasping for breath. Sometimes it sounds like he stops breathing altogether, making me touch him just to make sure he’s OK. This gives me the reassurance I need that he’s alright and breathing. I can place this on my nightstand and see him in full view and hear him breathing.

The resolution at night is awesome, so awesome in fact that I can see Aidans chest rising and falling with each breath. It’s very important to be able to see everything in great detail, and this one never fails. I love that I can watch him sleep without having to bother him with the bright light of a lamp or the nuisance of a night-light.

Sweetly Luring Lullabies & Room Temp Monitor

Although I don’t need the lullaby feature, anybody with a baby would consider this genius. It has 5 built-in polyphonic lullabies built in. You just pick up your handheld device and scroll over to the lullaby section, choosing whichever lullaby suits your baby. It also has a room temp sensor, letting you know at all times how warm or cool it is inside the room. It displays the temperature right on the video screen, so you don’t have to click to view. You can choose to view the temp in Farenheit or Celcius.
