Kids Natural Multi Calm Review and Giveaway

My kids usually eat just about anything. They aren’t too picky, they usually eat whatever they get without too much of a fuss. I did want them to start taking a multivitamin though, and I had some issues with that.
I put Aidan in preschool this year. He did well until it started getting cold. He then started getting sick almost every single week. He was missing more days than he went.
Aidan was extremely premature. He was born at 24 weeks (6 1/2 months) and was 1 lb and 13 ounces at birth. He still has a low immune system even though he is 4. So I had to end up taking him out of preschool.
When I was taking him to the doctor, I asked them what I could do to get his immune system up, and they told me to give him 2 multivitamins and a calcium vitamin everyday. He wouldn’t take it. I kept trying different ways. I would crush it and put it in his drinks and food and he could taste it. He would hand it right back to me and say “It’s nasty.” So when I seen the Kids Natural Calm Multi, I was on it.
I thought that maybe this would work, since nothing else was working. It is a premium combination of nutrients, lovingly crafted with 24 organic fruits and veggies plus other key vitamins, minerals, and more to help kids focus, maintain calm energy and feel their best.

For the Review, I received one 30 fl. oz. bottle of Kid’s Natural Multi Calm. At first I wasn’t sure they were going to like it because it didn’t smell or look anything like juice. {That’s what I pretended this was} But after the kids tasted it, they liked it.

*24 Fruits & Veggies
*Omega-3 DHA, & EPA
*Vitamins and Minerals
*Natural Calm Magnesium
*Calcium
*Amino Acids
You just mix it with an equal amount of water or add some to their juice. I tried both. I was surprised that both my kids drank it with water. I told them it was juice, and they drank it all. They asked for more, which really surprised me. How could they love vitamins so much? They did.
Kids Natural Calm Multi is a liquid vitamin supplement that is formulated especially for kids. So I felt really good about giving this to the kids because of all the nutrients and vitamins, and they seemed to think it tasted just SO yummy. This can supplement anything that is missing in their diets. Whether you have a picky eater, or just need an immune system boost as I did.
It isn’t sweetened with sugar, it’s sweetened with organic stevia and organic agave. With everything that is sweetened with sugar these days, it is always a plus to find something not sweetened with it.
You can give this to kids up to 13, so that is a major plus. I think that most moms want something to be able to add nutrients and vitamins to their kids diets and the well forgotten magnesium.
Magnesium Deficiency creates-
-Stress
-Fatigue & Low Energy
-Inability to Sleep
-Muscle Tension, Spasms & Cramps
-Anxiousness and Nervousness
-Irritability
-Headaches
-Weakness
-Weakening Bones
-Abnormal Heart Rhythm
This is from the website:
When we are under stress (and don’t think that stress applies only to adults), our cells—which in their resting state contain magnesium—go through a change. Calcium, normally outside the cells, enters the cells and the calcium level becomes high. This is the action state in which a muscle cell, for example, will contract and tense the muscle. The magnesium then pushes the calcium out of the cell and the cell is again in its resting, relaxed state.

A 32-page guide to the benefits of magnesium, along with magnesium deficiency symptoms, written by Dr. Dean is available as a free download at the non-profit www.nutritionalmagnesium.org.

I didn’t know that, and I bet most people don’t. So not only are you giving them the nutrients and vitamins that you know they need, but you are also giving them more than what you know they need.
All in all, this is a very good product. My kids liked it, and I liked it because of it wasn’t sweetened with sugar, and it was so beneficial to their vitamin intake.
Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post. I was in no way paid to write this review. I received products in exchange for an honest review. But being given the product, in no way influenced me..
I want to thank Natural Vitality for working with me =)

Now for the giveaway

Blog Dare Prompt- Retro Toy

A favorite retro toy.

I really loved the super nintendo when I was younger. My dad and I went into a pawn shop and there it was. My dad usually went in and bought stuff {for what reason I’m not sure} I just remember going in there with him all the time with him. While he would be talking to the owner, I would be playing that nintendo everytime. Finally, he bought it for me. I guess he wanted to make sure it wasn’t something I would be non-interested in after a week.

I loved it.

I still think it is so much better than playstation the original. The cartridge is so much easier for kids to use than cd’s that can become scratched. I know. We found a regular playstation at the flea market for $20 and bought it for Aidan. We also bought 2 games, so that he and his half brother Alex would have something to do together, since they are 4 years apart.

Aidan had the games scratched up in no time. Although they still worked, I was still thinking how a super nintendo would be so much better. =)

Snapsac Review & Discount Code

SnapSac Family

One of my many New Years Resolutions was to be more green this year. Being green to me means no plastic bags of any kind, more earth friendly cleaning products in my home, and to recycle more.

The plastic bags are cheap to make, so they are used very frequently these days. Shopping Centers, Grocery Stores, Electronic Stores..

They are cluttering landfills, hanging off trees, and killing animals. According the the National Geographic Website “Somewhere between 500 Billion and a trillion plastic bags are consumed each year.” That is a lot of plastic.

Snapsac is the perfect solution for ridding of these pesky little bags that seem to be everywhere.

There are five different sizes of Snapsac Totes. And 2 different colors Pop and Neutral. Grocery Tote, Petite Tote, Mega Tote, and they even have lunchboxes. They are super cute, easy to carry because of the thick handles, and are really cheap.

Grocery Tote

DSCF5194

The Grocery Totes are $2.99.

I loved how it has a bottom stiffener, which is also lead free. No more broken bags that leads to cans rolling on the ground and busted milk gallons.

Petite Tote

DSCF5198

On sale for $2.99, originally $3.50

This is the perfect size tote for packing a pair of shoes and gym clothes, a take-out meal home so you don’t have to use the plastic ones they provide. I have used it to take toys in to the doctor with my kids to keep them occupied. It beats stuffing them in my purse and then having to dig around for my wallet to get the insurance information out.

I love it.

Super Tote

DSCF5197

$4.50

This is a tote that you could take with you to flea markets, so you aren’t packing a million different little bags and trying to juggle them. You could also use them to store clothes in for a longer weekend vacation. It would hold probably 3 or 4 changes of clothes. Or you could use this for the beach to hold the towels, so you don’t have everything in one bag. This is the perfect size bag.

Mega Tote

DSCF5196

$7.50

This is a very big bag. It will definitely hold anything you want to put in it. I plan on using mine for garage sales when it warms up. It beats having a bulky box in the back of my car to hold my fabulous finds.

These bags offer easy and neat storage. The fold back up and snap shut. They are washable, so if something gets on it, you don’t have to spot clean it. You can just toss it in the wash on cool setting and hang it up to dry. Easy Peasy.

The company also offers free shipping on items over $25 {U.S. Only}, so you can get all 4 totes plus the lunch box and cooler for $30. That is an awesome deal, and these bags are definitely worth it.

Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post. I did receive items in exchange for an honest review. I want to thank Snapsac for the opportunity to work with their company.

You can use the code: SEWCRAFT20 for 20% discount on anything you order.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Jess

The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin {Book Review}

The Handmade Marketplace
How to sell your Crafts Locally, Globally, and Online
thumbnail image
There are an unlimited number of reasons that you would have the desire to create. Whether it’s that you grew up crafting, you love to save money by creating something yourself, or if it’s just relaxing for you.
For me, I didn’t craft much when I was younger. When I got older and discovered all the beautiful things that could be handmade, I was hooked. I bought a sewing machine, and taught myself to sew. I bought yarn, and tried to knit, although I wasn’t good at it. I then switched to Crochet, which I was a natural at. Now I have ventured into all things handmade. I crochet, sew, scrapbook, and make jewelry.
My point is: There are so many things that you can do. SO many items that are just begging for you to try.
There are so many craft blogs, fresh and modern craft books, and so many crafty people, that you can obtain ideas from.
When you start feeling ready to take your hobby to the next level, your self esteem is just going to radiate positive energy. When someone chooses to buy something you made, there is nothing like it in the world. The demand for handmade items is actually quite high in today’s market. If your ready to take that step, now is the perfect time to take your chance.
The Handmade Marketplace is a book like I’d never seen before. It is a business guide for crafters to live by. Like our Craft Bible =) It is not just another boring manual that goes on and on about telling you how something must be done. This is an actual crafter explaining what she and tons of other well known crafters done to get where they are today.
As a crafter, I know how hard it is to get a business of the ground. I’ve been trying so for close to 3 years now. I’m still not in the limelight all the way here, but is shouldn’t be very long until you see my designs come out of the water.
When you’ve gone to flea markets and craft fairs and wondered just how they pulled it all together, now you’ll know. You’ll soon understand what happens on the other side of those tables and what it involves.
Kari Chapin first shows you her collection of creative people and their websites so you can gain further inspiration and see how they are making it in the craft world. People such as Emily Martin of the Black Apple, Holly Becker of Decor8, Matt Stinchomb of Etsy, and Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood of Craft Sanity. Most of these people I had already heard of, so if your getting tips from people who have already made it and are showing you the way, how can you go wrong?

Blog Dares.. Jan 5- Jan 9

I am totally slacking when it comes to remembering my Blog Dares. I should post something to remind me, I just have been so swamped with Reviews/Giveaways and Events. I promise to try harder..

Something lost...

My Ring from my Grandma. I lost it last year before she passed away. It went with the set she gave me. My fingers swelled, so I put them on a necklace around my neck. Adisyn popped the chain and they went everywhere. I still never found it. I wish I could. I feel so bad♥

Friday  January 6, 2012

My "special" place.  {Where do you go for quiet/alone or regrouping time}

There isn’t a place in my house that I can go to regroup. I have to do all my blogging, reading, writing, and crafting in whatever room I am in at the time. My kids will follow me to the end of the earth. They have to know where I am every second, so alone time isn’t something I get to treasure very often…

I am hoping that when we move into a house that I can have a little room for all my crafts/books/binders to be so I don’t have stuff all over the house like I do now.

Saturday  January 7, 2012

Something you need daily?

I totally need coffee. I wish I didn’t, but with Adisyn getting up in the middle of the night and then Aidan getting up early in the morning. I am sleep deprived. REALLY. All I want to do is crawl up in the bed and take a nap right now♥

Sunday  January 8, 2012

Too much television...

Not for me. I don’t usually watch that much TV. When I do, I watch House M.D., Desperate Housewives, Real TV, Discovery Channel, and any TV channel that has Cold Case Files.

Monday  January 9, 2012

I never thought I'd find this in my child's room...

Adisyn has had a habit lately of getting into everything she can find within reach, so needless to say we have to keep all kinds of stuff up. She still managed to get into my fabric scissors that were in a bucket like 5 foot off the ground. She climbed on my desk while I was washing dishes and cut her hair.

Yep, I found hair strands in her room where she had chopped her hair.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I need to be more prompt when posting these..

Thursday Blog Hops

Welcome to Made.By.Jess,  I am a writer, a reader, a crafter, a bookaholic, a mom with 2 kids under 5...I am in love with all things design; Yarn, Fabric, Paints.. I could get lost forever in a yard sale, and the flea market. I am an independent person, who loves to show my bright side as often as I can. I try to find the light within the darkness. I love being a mom, I love being a writer, and I am a FASHION junkie. I find stuff that is plain and try to make it into something that represents myself. I like to DIY stuff.

Bassgiraffe's Thoughts Thursday Blog Hop

January 3rd and 4th Blog Dare

I am going to have to write 2 Blog Dares in 1 post, because I was worn out and completely forgot.

Jan 3rd: Bucket List:  If you already  have one, review it and see what needs to be added or checked off.

I don’t already have a bucket list. I haven’t actually made one, so this will be the first for me.

*I want to own my own business selling items that I make.

*I want to take my kids to Disney World

*I want to stop being so full of Anxiety and let my kids stay the night somewhere so the hubs and I can go and have a night for ourselves.

*I want to write a book.

*I want to post tutorials on my blog

*I want to guest post on at least 10 blogs

*I want to own my own house with a building I could store my “shop items in”

*I want to go to a concert {only been to 1 my entire life}

Jan. 4th: What I shouldn't have bought this holiday season.

There wasn’t anything that I shouldn’t have bought. We only bought for our kids this year, and I made presents for everyone else. So there isn’t like some huge present or product that I bought that I wish I could return. Nope, this girl is totally guilt free this holiday season =)

Moo Mini- Business Cards Review and Discount.

image

Think Big, Share Big

About Moo: London, England is where Moo was born. But the cards are printed in Rhode Island.

Premium products need premium paper

My alt text

From the website: “As you might expect from a company that 'loves to print', we're rather fond of our paper and print finishes too. But there's a small problem. Looking at more photos of our smooth matte laminate or thick 100% recycled stock wont help you understand what it feels like in your hand. We love paper as much we love print. We never settle for second best and we don’t see why you should either. There’s no sneaky hidden charges for ‘better’ paper, because 'better paper' is MOO’s standard paper.”

You can get a sample for FREE of every single product they make. This includes shipping. No hidden fees, no broken promises. What they say is what they do. Business Cards, Mini Cards, Postcards, Greeting Cards, and Stickerbooks.

I’ve had the same business cards for 2 years, and they certainly needed to be updated. After ordering the business cards we moved, and the phone number I had wasn’t available in the area I moved. So I had to go over the business cards and cross out the old number and write in my new number. How unprofessional does that seem? VERY. I hated giving them out. It seemed so wrong of me to have to hand them out and then explain why there were marks and new numbers written. I was so embarrassed half the time.

When you hand out business cards, that is the first impression that someone has of you and your business. I wasn’t making a statement that I needed to make. I wanted to seem professional, witty, and the designer I am. I didn’t want to seem slouchy and not worth the time.

image

When I seen an ad for Moo.com Business cards, I was all over it. They have some really awesome designs, having 12 full pages to choose from. If you don’t see something that suits your company’s design or niche, they also have the option of using your own designs. You can upload files from your computer, or you can import from Etsy, Facebook, SmugMug, Flickr, or Picasa.

Isn’t it every Business owner’s dream to see their own designs on their business cards? I know it did for me. I was totally ecstatic. I was in amazement from the very beginning.

I chose to get the MiniCards.

image

Half the size of a standard business card, MiniCards are great for showing off your portfolio, your products or your business. With the option of a different image on every card, upload your own artwork or choose from thousands of designs.

DSCF4986DSCF4985

I loved that they come with paper covers that are bright. Because I need to update my camera, you really can’t tell what they say. They say “How very Exciting” and “Your Moo Minicards are inside” and then in each box came a little card {like a Mini Moo Business card} that said “You are our new best friend”. Great, because they are my new best friend also. There were so many designs and texts to choose from to place on the cards, that I just decided to choose theirs. I had some of my own work, but not on my computer. I decided to go with their designs and then add my information.

DSCF5178

Sorry that this is poor quality of what they actually look like. I tried to scan them from my printer, but it was giving me fits. I don’t know exactly why, it has never done to this to me before.

I am so amazed by the type of paper that these MiniMoo Cards are printed on. They are so much stronger and durable then my last business cards. They don’t bend easily which is a plus when you have kids who think they are “cards” and sneak into them all time.

I really liked that you could create all 100 cards differently if you wish. This was astonishing because when I ordered my other business cards, obviously they all were exactly the same. I had to pay $50 for 400 cards, and they weren’t even as well made as the Moo Cards. They got beaten up, tattered, and didn’t make my standards. They weren’t double sided, they weren’t Matte Finish, and they PRINTED their logo on the back. That’s why they didn’t offer double side, because they were also trying to promote themselves while I was promoting mine.  With the Mini Moo Cards, 100 cards is only $20, but you can usually get a discount from them, and shipping is dirt cheap. They are double sided, full color, thick, and matte finished. They are also printed on recycled paper, and printed in the United States.

I ended up making 13 different colors, because I am addicted to colors, and design and I just couldn’t stop myself.  I carry all three boxes in my purse, just so I can whip them out at random intervals and be like “look at these amazing things.” I totally drove my husband crazy with it. I showed him probably 10 times in one night. Kept lining them up and was like “These are sweet” He said “I know, you have already shown me 5 times today.” I couldn’t help but to laugh. Yes, I am a nerd, but when I get something I love I share with other people, even if they don’t own a business or have no clue who I am.

You might be next. LOL You might meet me in the aisle at a store someday, so just beware.

I chose so many different colors because I leave them at consignment stores and random places, and different colors attract attention. These Mini Moo cards are even more so attractive, and call attention to themselves because they aren’t standard size business cards, are easily kept in just about anything, and don’t get stuck in the insides of my wallet. I mean everything else is getting smaller- phones, televisions, computers- I just knew this was the right way to go. People love smaller these days.

The process of design was fun, the shipping fast, and the customer service absolutely amazing. Your orders are automatically saved so that you can go back and re-order the same designs, instead of starting all over. What a time saver. This company really does have the customer in mind. You automatically receive email updates telling you when your order is being processed, when it is being sent, and it is an awesome gesture. Who doesn’t want to know where their package is? I certainly loved it.

The boxes that hold your Mini Moo Cards are very strong. Believe me, they have held up in my monstrous purse with everything under the sun in there. The only problem I have is that people want more than one card because they love the designs. I am going to be out pretty soon at that rate. But hey, I’m glad they like them as much as I do.

They make so many different things, that you could stay on their website all day just looking at the different designs and products. I was in design heaven. =)

Moo has a cost calculator, so that you aren’t counting in your brain and just praying you aren’t going over budget. They make things so simple.

I want to showcase more than just the Mini Cards, because I was so elated with my order.

. Double-sided business cards as low as $18.69.

Ok, I am going to post a recent, because I need to dwell on the future this year and not the past.

I really liked the selection of books they had to offer. I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter, and there were plenty of books to read to both of the kids.

The books are really easy to flip through, are vibrantly colored and illustrated, and have impact on kids. It is an easy login. You can login via Facebook, Twitter, or email.

You can view the books {here}

I chose this book to show my kids first, to see how they acted. Adisyn is all about animals, so I though this book was a good choice. She really liked it, and so did Aidan. Easy to read, easy to share {via Twitter and Facebook} and easy to purchase. The books are cheap being either $2.99 or $3.99, depending on the book. There are so many books to choose from that you and the kids will have a ball reading. Let them choose, and then help them make out the sounds. My kids are too young to read by themselves, but we did have super fun interacting with the books.

image

They have classics such as the Princess on the Pea as well as new books, and you can even design and sell your own BOOKS. That is amazing.

You can view this app on a laptop, Ipad, or Iphone. You get a free 15 day account to look around and check stuff out. This gives you a chance to make sure you want to purchase before you do. If you do decide to purchase, it is only $10 a month. This will save you money on gas for trips to the library, can keep the kids busy reading, and helps them learn. You kids are going to love it as much as you do. It is instant access, so you aren’t waiting for books to come in the mail, and you aren’t paying high shipping costs.  I don’t think you would have one ounce of doubt after purchasing.

Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post, all opinions in this blog post are my own. I did receive products to review, but this review is completely honest and in no way swayed by the chance to review.

I want to thank Utales for working with me, my kids and I have had tons of fun looking through their books.
