WAT-AAH Review

Wat Ahh

As soon as the UPS guy arrived with the box of WAT-AHH, I was excited to see the product, just because the packaging was awesome. The bottles are awesome, and the messages on the back are even more awesome. Such as the body WAT-AHH says “Your Brain is 75% water. Your heart is 75% water. Your muscles are 75% water. Get the point? Your pretty much a swimming pool with legs, so fill it up. WAT-AAH Body is pure spring water for optimal hydration. Drink it and feel SUP-AHH.” Isn’t that cool? If your trying to hoax your kids into drinking more water, WAT-AHH which is mom created and kid inspired just might do the trick.

I admit, I don’t drink AS much water as I should. My kids don’t either. If they could choose they would drink chocolate milk all the time, and although milk is great, I needed them to drink more water. They love drinking out of bottles anyway, and usually they would be trying to steal someone’s coke, but I don’t want them to drink cokes. I want them to get used to water, and like it. They were all asking for more. I couldn’t believe it. Adisyn didn’t really ask, she just got really mad when I took it away. ☺ So maybe I won’t have such a hard time getting them to drink more..

Adam doesn’t like to drink water either. I don’t know what it is about him that wants to drink coke all the time, but he does. Now that he started a new job, he realized that he needed to drink water, because the caffeine was dehydrating him in the hot sun. I told him to try a bottle of WAT-AHH and see if he would like to take some of them with him. He liked it. Although it does taste like regular water in a cool bottle, he liked it because of the added supplements such as magnesium and electrolytes.

WAT-AHH was the perfect choice, because the bottles are so bright and a kid attention catcher. Heck, it even caught my attention. I loved that it wasn’t just water, but had added nutrients to it. I’m happy to say that my kids, I, and Adam have drank all the WAT-AHH, and we are definitely thinking about buying more.

Here’s Why-

WAT-AAH comes in four different styles. There is Brain, Body, Energy, and Power.

Brain contains Electrolytes. Power contain Magnesium. Energy has Oxygen. and Body is Pure Spring Water.

About WAT-AAH!:

WAT-AHH! is a NYC based company founded by Rose Cameron and her son Jack in June of 2008, after she asked him why he hated to drink water. His response to her was, "I know it's good for me but it is so boring."

Rose was determined to reverse his perception. Along with Jack she created a water "cool" enough to convince kids to switch away from soda and other sugar drinks. WAT-AHH! was born and is the first ever functional water for kids without sugar, coloring or calories. It tastes like pure, fresh, unadulterated water... no bad stuff!!

WAT-AAH! has all kinds of great campaigns going on including the Show Me WAT-YOU-GOT contest.

Show Me WAT-YOU-GOT! is a new website (wat-you-got.com) the site features the WAT-AAH! Boy bragging about his own skills and challenging kids to send a video to prove he can be outdone. He wants kids between 5-17 years of age to join and show off their talents... ANY TALENT!... and have the chance to win CASH REWARDS and some amazing, once in a life time opportunities:

* The kid with the most amazing SOCCER skills can win a trip for 2 to Milan to watch Inter Milan, the 2010 European Champions, and meet the players!

* The kid(s) with the most amazing MUSICAL performance can have the chance to record their song, and present to Al Branch, the chief talent scout from Def Jam Records and manager of well-known artists like Kanye West and Drake!

True to his mission the WAT-AAH! Boy wants kids to stay active, be motivated and be healthy this summer and join his challenge. The competition started June 1st and ends September 30, 2010.

Brain has electrolytes in it. When you exercise heavily, you tend to lose electrolytes in your sweat, particularly sodium and potassium. Read {here} about why your body needs these electrolytes.

Pros of WAT-AAH

*Packaged in BPA-free bottles

*Fun graphics and awesome text may encourage kids to drink more water

*Contains no sugar or artifical flavoring/coloring

*Replaces electrolytes without calories of Gatorade

*Bottles are recyclable

Cons

* Bottles are not reusable

Vapur Reusable Water Bottle {Review}

I hate drinking tap water. I don’t know what it is about tap water that I hate so much, but I do. So I started buying bottled water. I love bottled water, but hated throwing so much plastic away. I couldn’t figure out how to re-craft it, so I just started buying the gallon jug water and trying to find something to keep it in.

I have bought numerous bottled water holders that didn’t fit the bill. They would either leak or it seemed like I couldn’t even take a drink, so I was amazed when I received the vapur. If you haven’t seen or heard of these awesome little water bottles, you will now. They are amazing…

and I am never going back to regular water carriers again. Why? Because I have found the perfect one. Vapur is BPA Free, reusable, attachable, identifiable, freezable, and washable.

How can something be so amazing?

It was. I tested it. Although I don’t have a dishwasher, my mom does- and it lasted and came out cleaner than ever. I froze it and it didn’t bust, much to my amazement. I wrote on it, and it didn’t come off. It clips to anything you clip it to. It was amazing how this water bottle could stand the tests I put it through.

“Every Vapur is made from ultra-durable, FDA-approved, BPA-free polymer. Vapur is designed to withstand everyday use and regular cleaning. The inner layer is odor, taste, and stain resistant. To clean, simply place it on the top rack of your dishwasher then air dry as needed to remove any residual moisture.
Vapur can be sealed tight for packing and can even be frozen! Tip: freeze and use Vapur as a portable ice-pack or to keep water cold for a long journey.”

The biggest reason for loving this amazing anti-water bottle is that it is eco-friendly. The more you use it, the more you reduce your carbon footprints.

don’t forget to get yours before your kiddo’s head back to school. {here}

Exhaustion has taken over♥ at least for awhile.

Im-always-me_thumbI started this blog as a craft blog, and I haven’t even been doing much crafting. Between my kids and cleaning the house, I have been pooped. I have been working at some things but still haven’t managed to pull together a tutorial yet. There will be, soon, I promise. I just wish I could get over this fatigue and exhaustion but it doesn’t help when I hardly get any sleep and I have so much to do. I totally needed to go to the grocery today, but it’s put off, because I simply just feel like sleeping for 2 whole days. I SOOO wish I could, but my kids just won’t let me…

Crocheted Face Scrubbies & Holder by Hobbyzu {review}

HobbyZu is an awesome crochet shop with some very awesome creations from her. She is a very sweet and loving person and it was a pleasure to work with such an amazing person with such amazing talent. I have loved crochet for a long time, I started teaching myself this year, and I love it. It is relaxing, and amazing what you can create from yarn. =)

About Zu~

DSCN94502.jpg

Hello and welcome to Hobbyzu Accessories & Design!

My name is Zuleika and I'm a mother of three gorgeous boys with numerous hobbies to keep me sane. :-) I taught myself to crochet when I was about 17 or so and haven't stopped since!
I love to design and create accessories and wearables, and hope you either find a handmade item or crochet pattern you like.

Hats and other accessories are all crocheted by me, and I take pride in producing quality items to the best of my ability.

I design patterns for the beginner crocheter to intermediate, and occasionally a slightly difficult level. But only slightly! :-) I believe in patterns that don't get your brain all twisted while you try to follow them. :-)

I don't mind if you sell the items you make from my patterns, but please don't reproduce my patterns and sell them, or pass the patterns off as your own. I know it's next to impossible to control what happens to my patterns, but I'm hoping that the majority of you are as honest as I believe you to be. :-)

Please also stop by my blog at http://hobbyzuand.wordpress.com to see what I've been up to lately. I love visitors! :-)

I was fortunate enough to review HobbyZu’s Face Scrubbies. They are SO awesome, I don’t know how I lived without it. It feels like I am giving myself a makeover in my bathroom, which is so nice and relaxing. I feel like I’m washing my face with a cloud. Seriously, I’m not joking.

You may think I’m being funny but it’s the truth. If you could just FEEL them, you would know what I am talking about. These pieces are so beautifully structured and designed. She is such a crochet genius and I envy her skills. =)

I loved both of the sets she sent me. But of course my favorite was the green. (Always is) LOL.

But how sweet it is to be able to wash your face scrubbies instead of buying new face wipes or whatever your currently using to wash those pretty faces? Before this I was just using washcloths, and I am NEVER going back. I currently feel like the at-home spa goddess with these.

each set came with 6 scrubbies and a beautiful holder to keep them in. I love them.

I usually use apricot scrub to wash my face after washing it with face wash. I love how the feeling of it makes my face so much cleaner, but it sucks when you have to put it on with your fingers, so I tried these and they worked amazingly with the scrub. It made my face feel as if it were bonding with the scrub, which was cool because it made my face feel so much cleaner than just putting it on with my fingers. I love these and when I’m old and gray you will still see these on my bathroom sink because I am never giving them up.

My favorite thing about these (besides being beautiful and as soft as a cloud) is the little places to fit your fingers. This is was so awesome. I didn’t have to fight to hold the scrubbie while cleaning my face. A major plus. I swear- If I could, I would buy everything HobbyZu sells. She is a crochet goddess in my book. I love all her designs.

Some of my faves♥

Set of 6 Facial Scrubbies with Storage Pouch in Pink and Black

Deep Red and Black Visor Slouch Hat

Cotton Visor Beanie in brown - Adult Large

I think all of these are so adorable. If you crochet, she also sells crochet patterns.

I loved working with Zu, she is so sweet and awesome =)

I was in no way paid to do this review. HobbyZu is just so awesome, that she let me review her products so I could tell the world how amazing she and her work are…

but she didn’t know what I would write at the time, because I always post an honest review. But hobbyzu is a site to keep on your Christmas buying list, because who wouldn’t love a little handmade awesomeness? I know I do.

Thanks so much Zu, your awesome, amazing, and absolutely humble. (How could you be worried I wouldn’t like them?) I love love love them. ♥

Out Grease Spot Out (Laundry Tutorial from Mommy Memorandum)

Tutorial: Laundry Tip Removing Grease Stains

This is a tutorial from Mommy Memorandum, she was nice enough to let me feature this for you guys.

Out Grease Spot! Out!

It's a good thing I like to do laundry because we generate a lot of it at our house. This morning was wash day and as I was checking the clothes for stains before washing, I came across a shirt worn by my husband. He's a pig--as this shirt reveals.

Those "spots" are grease! Gross I know, but behind every clean shirt is this laundry-lovin' Wife. I make his clothes lend the impression that he is CIVILIZED!

This is a laundry tutorial on how to get grease out of clothes. It can be done.

First, you'll have the best success if you catch it before you wash it and definitely before it finds its way through a dryer cycle.

This part is optional, but I find it helps me identify the "stain" later on. Using a fabric pencil, trace around the stain. I used white on the dark shirt. It doesn't have to be detailed, just an outline so you know where the grease spot is on the garmet.

Place inside garmet a pan or container of some sort.

With the garmet pulled over the container, pour rubbing alcohol over the stain. You will want to pour the alcohol over each stain two times. Use just enough alcohol to saturate the stain area.

Allow the shirt to sit, with the alcohol on it while you boil water.

Once you have boiling water, pour it over the alcohol saturated grease spot.

From here, wash as usual.

When the wash cycle is complete, remember to check the garmet to see that the stain is out. I typically line dry the garmet to be sure. If there is still grease, you'll want to repeat the process before you put it in the dryer.

Ta-Da! Grease spot is GONE!

how awesome and easy this is. Thanks mommy memorandum for letting me feature this.

So of course- you get a button for your awesomeness

Now, I am done with my BSA {Blog Service Announcement}

and here is my fun project I have been working on...
A Gift For My {new} Kitchen!
Click
HERE for a pdf version of this tutorial

I remember back in "my day" making T-shirts before high school dances - so our group could all match of course! I remember that paint being thick and stiff. Those instances, with the exception of a time or two in between, that was the last time I used fabric paint. Well, recently I received the Americana Fabric Painting Medium by Decoart and I am ready to paint everything. Fabric paint has come a long way! By mixing this medium with your favorite color acrylic paint, you get a soft, creamy and might I say dreamy fabric paint. Yeah!

I began this project with the intention of making some flour sack towels -

which I did, but ended up loving the fabric painting medium so much

and the results I got that I went on to make placements and napkins...

and I see an apron in my future!

Here's how to make your own!

Supplies

-Americana Fabric Painting Medium by Decoart

-Americana Acrylic Paint in Yellow Ochre by Decoart

-Americana Acrylic Paint in Plum by Decoart

-Paint brush, sponge brush, or stencil pouncer {I used the pouncer and brush}

-Flour Sack towels OR cloth napkins OR cloth placemats

-Freezer paper

-Craft Knife (optional)

-Stencil of choice {or free hand a design}. NOTE: I made a few stencils and then found a great stencil for free at Ready Made Magazine as part of Refurbished Beach Chair project {Have you checked out Ready Made - the best magazine!}. You can also find stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils

-You will also need a jar or plate for mixing the medium, and iron/ironing board, and access to a washing machine.

DIY IT!
-Wash and dry the towel/napkin/placemat

-Print out stencil - 2 sizes one larger and one smaller- and cut design out on freezer paper using a craft knife {or scissors}. I have never used freezer paper before, although I have seen it around since I began blogging - the best! I was able to cut up to 6 layers of freezer paper at one time, which saved a lot of time since I used multiple stencils for my project.

-Iron your fabric to get out wrinkles {if necessary}

-Trim around each stencil and place individual stencils onto project.

-Iron freezer paper down to fabric.

-Mix your paint and fabric painting medium at a 2:1 ratio

-Begin painting, by lightly brushing or pouncing over the stencil. Begin with the lightest color first {yellow ochre}.

-Let dry 24 hours and come back with the smaller stencil.

-Place and iron smaller stencil onto project, overlapping larger flower in areas.

-Mix darker paint and medium.

-Paint by lightly brushing or pouncing over the stencil with the darker color {Plum}.

-Let dry for 24-48 hours.

-Heat set for 30 seconds with iron.

-Wash on gently cycle {inside out if a garment}.

{sample of my overall placement}

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. I love doing stuff like this, and am going to have to get my own tutorials up soon..
