Bodycology Toasted Sugar Bath & Body Products
Bodycology Toasted Sugar ($3.99-$5.99; Walmart) “is a warm and sensual fragrance with an oriental blend of amber, brown sugar, and vanilla. The cozy, comforting scent wraps the body like a blanket by the fire.”
The warm blend of vanilla, brown sugar, and sensual amber creates a delicious, comfortable smell that I love. Bodycology has always been a favorite go-to body and bath products for me. They have a huge variety of scents, something for everybody. The Bodycology Toasted Sugar is definitely my favorite of them all, though.
I have always been drawn into the comforting, warm scented fragrances. I especially love amber infused scents (Amber Romance by VS) and toasted brown sugar (Warm Vanilla Brown Sugar). For Bodycology to add two of my favorite fragrance additives together was a total win for me (and pure genius for them) because I will ALWAYS buy this, hands down.
The scent is absolutely amazing. A lightly warmed brown sugar infused with the romantic extras of amber. It is a perfect choice for wearing on a daily basis, and isn’t overpowering in the least. The smell is so comforting and refreshing, it’s hard to resist. It reminds me of pure heaven and it is definitely rejuvenating!
I’ve gotten so many compliments on how great it smells, so I know I’m not the only one who thinks Bodycology may have also made the moon the stars. It’s not very often that EVERYBODY I get near compliment how I smell. The scent lingers but is light, so even those sensitive to fragrances aren’t bothered by this warm, delicious scent.
This isn’t something you have to re-apply every couple of hours. The scent lingers around, smelling amazing. It lasts all day, especially when it’s combined with the lotion and body wash. If you know someone who loves warm scents, this would make the perfect gift basket idea for them. Whether it’s a birthday present, holiday. or just “because”, they will be sure to thank you from the bottom of their hearts! Can’t go wrong with Bodycology!
The Bodycology Toasted Sugar Spray
The spray isn’t sticky at all. Some body sprays can be sticky when applied directly to the skin. It drives me nuts, but Bodycology has perfected the art of great quality with affordable prices. There is absolutely no stickiness or splotches on my clothing. Usually the alcohol in body sprays will drain the color from clothing (in the direct spray vicinity), but this one doesn’t AT ALL.
I’ve also noticed throughout the years that most body sprays contain an “alcohol” like smell at first, but this one doesn’t. Just pure sweetness from the start. No more trying to air out my clothing to get that overbearing alcohol smell out. I can just spray this and GO! I’ve even started spraying my pillow and room with this.. :) Wonderful isn’t even the word for this spray! Did I mention that it’s under $5? It definitely is.
The Bodycology Toasted Sugar lotion
This lotion is perfect. I love that it’s just the right consistency. It isn’t too thin and watery and yet it isn’t too thick and goopy. I say this rivals most higher end body lotions, I’d definitely choose this every time. This lotion is very moisturizing without making my skin feel sticky or greasy.
Usually people think that if they are looking for a budget-friendly lotion, they are going to get skimped out. Either they aren’t going to get a scent that smells that great, or the hydration isn’t going to be there. WRONG, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Bodycology gives both. Hydration with a lasting, amazing, delicious scent.
It’s because the main ingredients in this lotion are very beneficial to skin and keeping it hydrated (which is what keeps your skin looking healthy and young.) This lotion contains Aloe Vera which is very hydrating, shea butter which is very moisturizing, and the nourishment of Vitamins E & C.
The moisture is there from the time I put it on, until I go to sleep. I have really dry hands because I am constantly washing them (and dishes). I can put this lotion on and still feel the moisture AFTER I’ve washed dishes, which is weird because usually lotions never stay after all that dishwashing liquid.
I was surprised at how little I had to use to spread it on my entire body. One small handful covered my entire body (from head to toe) when I got out of the shower. I toss this in my purse and use it regularly throughout the day! I love it and don’t have to worry about lotion spilling out everywhere inside it. It’s packaged very well.
I even have severe dry skin on my legs (to the point where it causes small bumps in the fall and winter) if I don’t tan regularly. This lotion definitely keeps the dry skin at bay, while keeping me smelling great. No complaints this way!
The Bodycology Toasted Sugar body wash
Are you in need of a spa day, but don’t have the time? Be transported to your own spa day with the Bodycology Toasted Sugar Body wash. It’s super rich and luxurious, and definitely helps melt the stress away with it’s amazing comforting scent.
I can dribble a little into the running bath water, and wait for the delicious scent to fill the bathroom. I love kicking back in the bathtub and letting the stress melt away with hot water and this body wash. It is very foaming, so it’s also perfect to use as a bubble bath (and you don’t have to use very much at all.)
I love how creamy this is. I can use this with my body loofah and get the nourishment and exfoliation I need at the same time. There’s nothing like smelling amazing and feeling the same because this is a natural relaxant and rejuvenating to my skin. My skin feels so smooth and silky.
I have even put this in my daughters bath water as bubbles, and she loves it. She smells great for school (without it being too “adult” like a perfume would). The scent even lingers in the bathroom, giving it a naturally amazing smell. Another win.
The Bodycology Toasted Sugar exfoliating body scrub
After doing the hard-task of working from home, doing house chores, and being mom- it’s great to get some me time. I love how this scrub isn’t oily or greasy in the slightest, but yet it is hydrating and moisturizing.
There are tons of tiny exfoliating crystals within this scrub. It works amazing at buffing the skin, while scrubbing away dead skin cells and dirt. It leaves my skin leaving smooth, pampered, and luxurious. It has an amazing concentration of the Toasted Sugar fragrance. Not too overwhelming (for those who can’t be around strong scented products) It is a gentle scrub that gets the job done, while allowing you to smell it on your body even 24 hours later.
I definitely love using this on my feet. It leaves the skin so soft and smooth. It also takes the strain away from being up and running around doing house work and running errands. It feels great on sore muscles, working the scrub back and forth definitely takes away the pain.
Relaxation at it’s best. You don’t need very much at all. The jar it comes in is very wide mouthed, so it makes it easy to get even the last drop of crystals from the bottom. You can rub this straight into your skin with your hands, or put some on a loofah with a spoon. A teaspoon will be enough! :D
I love the quality of Bodycology products. Even though they are affordable, they don’t cop out with cheap ingredients. They give us the most affordable body and bath products on the market that don’t SMELL or FEEL like other products in the same price range (or even those in a higher price bracket.) Bodycology will always be at the top of my list for all bath and body products, they’ve never failed me once- all their fragrances are amazing.
The best part is that everything in the collections is under $10 and can be found at Walmart or Target.

Beauty Review: Essence of Beauty Shea Indulgence Body/Bath collection #HolidayGiftGuide2013
Essence of Beauty have come out with a new bath/body collection called Shea Indulgence. The Shea Indulgence Collection comes in full size Body Scrub, Body Lotion, Body Butter, & There is also a Shea Indulgence gift set that includes a cleanser, lotion, & butter for only $9.99.
The Shea Indulgence Collection contains African shea, macadamia nut, avocado, apricot, and sunflower oils. These mix of ingredients definitely makes you feel like you’ve spent the day at the spa getting pampered!
The fragrance of this makes me immediately think of a Hawaiian beach. It has soothing scents of exotic tiare flower, silky shea butter and coconut milk wrapped in warm, creamy vanilla. It is simply irresistible and relaxing.
The African Shea is harvested for it’s restorative properties. It helps the skin enhance the bodies natural moisture barrier for healthy, radiant skin. She butter is extremely moisturizing, having the ability to heal even the driest skin.
Shea butter naturally has the Vitamins A & E inside, both being very beneficial to the skin. Vitamin A is a natural skin healer. It naturally improves the texture of wrinkles, eczema, blemishes, etc. My doctor prescribed me a Vitamin A Cream for my Keratosis Pilarsis (chicken skin). It was extremely expensive so my doctor just told me to find good quality lotions/creams with Vitamin A in the ingredient list.
Vitamin E isn’t as important as Vitamin A, but it helps fight free radical damage. Free radical damage is what makes the skin wrinkle. The moisturizers within shea butter are one and the same as the moisturizers that your body makes naturally. That’s the reason it works so well hydrating the skin!
The Body Scrub
I immediately fell in love with the Essence of Beauty Shea Indulgence Body Scrub. The body scrub is thick and very creamy. I love the luxuriousness of the quality. You can tell that there is Shea Butter inside because of how well it moisturizes while IN the shower. It works immediately.
My skin immediately feels rejuvenated because of the tiny natural pumice particles within. They are very small, they work amazingly at exfoliating the dead skin away without scratching the skins surface. It works gently but thoroughly.
The pumice stone particles are just the right size, not too big or too small. If they are too big they feel like they are scratching my skin. If they are too small, I feel like they melt too quickly, usually before they can do their job.
It bubbles up very well to be a body scrub, especially one that has Shea Butter (ex. a lotion like consistency) inside. It bubbles like a regular body wash would, so it cleans while exfoliating at the same time!
I love that this is a flip top lid. The ones that come in the gigantic tubs easily get water inside the containers when I’m in the shower. With the flip top lid I can squeeze out the amount I need and flip it back shut and know it’s secure.
When I get out of the shower my skin feels so dewy and soft. I love that it is moisturizing yet not greasy or oily. It doesn’t leave any oily residue at all, yet my skin is so silky. I love it.
The Lotion
The Essence of Beauty Shea Indulgence Body Lotion is definitely one that you want to have on hand. It softens and locks in moisture to even the driest, roughest skin. Shea butter is healthy for the skin in so many ways and naturally adds its own scent. It is moisturizing yet doesn’t leave a greasy film behind.
My skin practically drinks this in when I apply it. My legs usually get super dry during the fall and winter months. Not only do they dry out but they also get itchy. This lotion keeps my skin super hydrated so the dryness doesn’t get to the itching point.
I love the fact that it is long lasting. The thickness of the lotion lets me apply it less during the day. I can use this once or twice and be good almost all day. The Avocado oil is an amazing addition to this lotion. 7
Avocado oil is naturally soothing and moisturizing. It has a high concentration of vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids. Avocados have the natural ability to soak up water, so when it’s in an oil inside skincare- it helps to retain and soak up moisture inside the skin cells.
This lotion is all around amazing. The scent is just like the body wash & butter, very warm and enticing scent. Warm vanilla, shea butter, sweet coconut milk brings this fragrance to a 10. I adore it. It’s sweet, light, and long-lasting.
The Body Butter
You want intense locked in moisture? Then the Essence of Beauty Shea Indulgence Body Butter is for you. The butter is mega thick, rich, and feels so silky to the skin. It immediately softens while releasing it’s ultra amazing fragrance. Most body butters are very oil based and leave the skin oily. This feels just like a whipped cream body butter, because it doesn’t feel greasy at all.
It’s probably the choice of ingredients. The African shea, avocado oil, and macadamia nut oil. They are all naturally moisturizing and then when they’re added together create this magnificent body cream.
The macadamia nut oil is another fabulous oil added to this line of products. The chemical makeup of macadamia nut oil is very close to the oils that are produced by human skin. It’s a great moisturizer because of how lightweight yet non-greasy it is. It leaves a protective barrier on the outer layer of the skin, locking out dryness while holding in moisture.
This is perfect for those rough, dry elbows, knees, hands, and feet! The fragrance is still detectable hours later which I love. I’m also loving the flip top bottle. I can take this bottle with me in my purse. If this was in a tub/container I wouldn’t risk putting something that gigantic in my purse. This makes it more like a lotion bottle, yet distinctly different from THEIR lotion bottle.
It is nourishing and keeps the cool weather from drying out my feet. It soaks in immediately and keeps dryness away for long periods of time, so I love putting this on before bed. When I wake up in the morning it feels like I just applied it. The consistency is perfect for a butter; not so thick that it takes forever to soak into the skin yet thicker than lotion.
This would make an amazing gift basket for Christmas! They are available at CVS

Beauty Review: Cake Beauty Triplement Foot Creme & Desserted Island Body Scrub
I have had the pleasure of using Cake Beauty supplies before. The first thing I ever tried from their vast collection of amazingness was their dry hair shampoo for dark hair. Let me tell you how AWESOME it was to finally find a dry shampoo that didn’t make my hair look like I’d shaken a ton of baby powder on my head!
When I contacted them about reviewing a couple items, and they got back to me very quickly, I was excited! I scrolled through the website at all their bath, body, and hair products!
Cake Walk Triplemint Foot Creme
The first item I clicked on, I immediately wanted to try. It was the cake walk triplemint foot crème. Since I’ve been tanning it’s like my feet are constantly dry to the point of peeling. I’ve never had this much issues with dry feet before.
I opened this and immediately fell deeply in love with the invigorating scent of the peppermint and spearmint mixture. It reminded me of the spearmint gum that my grandma always chewed when I was little.
This foot cream is a light pink in color and is very rich although it isn’t greasy and doesn’t leave any residue behind. If I wear flip flops, heels, or sandals my feet aren’t constantly slipping and sliding.
It has pure menthol and peppermint and spearmint essential oils to give your feet a nice little tingle. I loved using this, I felt like I was having a spa party for myself at home.
It contains nourishing butters- mango butter mixed with avocado oil to help soften the dry skin! I love the way it not only soothes but nourishes as well.
I’ve been using this on a daily basis, and I have to say that it has done a great deal with my dry feet. It was so horrible that the sides of my feet were becoming hardened with dry skin. This has never happened to me before, so I was glad that this foot cream really helped to soften that up.
I really enjoyed this! If you are looking for an at home spa night or just something to soften and soothe your tooties.. this is definitely for you!
Buy it: cake walk triplemint foot crème $16
Cake Desserted Island Body Scrub
The second product I chose was the Cake Desserted Island Body Scrub. Scrubs as you know are meant to exfoliate, soften, and moisturize the skin- so it’s not recommended to use them on a daily basis. More like 2-3 times a week for the amazing benefits of healthy, vibrant skin.
I opened the jar and Oh MY did I fall deeply in love with the smell. Tahitian vanilla & coconut YUM. The smell just takes you away, another place, another time.. Nothing but delicious scent and your imagination. Fresh, invigorating, and very comforting! I loved the scent it left behind after I got out of the bath. Not too strong, yet so enticing.
The texture is grainy, yet so silky at the same time. You can feel the brown sugar granules as soon as you scoop some into the palm of your hand. They are pretty big, which makes for an amazing exfoliation.
You take a handful and place it in your palm, on a washcloth, or even a loofah! Massage it into your skin for about 30 seconds, and wash it off. I loved how much this helped with the dry, rough skin on my feet.
My skin was SO soft, supple, and healthy looking after just the first use! If you fake bake in the summer- a nice body scrub is what you need to apply before fake baking AND after to get it all off. This is definitely what you need!
You will wash with body wash or soap BEFORE using this. After you use this, you will feel kind of greasy until you towel off after the shower/bath. That’s because you have to give it time to soak in, where there are oils inside.
The jar is plastic and VERY large with a screw on lid. You don’t need very much at all to get the job done, so one jar will last quite a long while.

Review: Selma Valentine Jamrock Body Scrub & Sweet Sensations Whipped Body Butter
The Amazing Body Scrub
I absolutely can’t resist a great body scrub! It is a downright shame that not ALL scrubs meet the standards I have for a scrub, though. Some are SUPER oily. So oily that not only my skin is left feeling oily, but my bathtub SHOWS how much oil is in the scrub.
What they say about their product line:
All of our products are handmade, paraben-free and use only the highest quality of premium ingredients. The best part about this product line is that it is 100% eco-friendly!
That’s why I was super excited to be able to test a scrub and body butter from Selma Valentine. I had the opportunity to test a small version of a body butter from my Green Grab Bag a couple months ago and LOVED it. It was a different scent then what I chose this time though.
So, when I got the Jamrock Body Scrub I immediately opened it. I SO wanted to smell it. OH heaven, did it smell absolutely wonderful. Imagine twisting off the cap and getting a whiff of coconuts mixed with citrus lime and Verbena.
I have used products that mixed coconut and lime before and LOVED them, but the verbana (which I had never heard of) added a nice little oomph to this that NO other tropical smelling scrub or lotion has managed.
I love that there aren’t any chemicals or dyes in any of their products. You can see the crystal like little beads when you open the container. No dyes! AND they are completely HANDMADE. Had me at Hello!
The scrub itself is absolutely divine! Buttery rich because it’s blended with cocoa butter, shea butter, and jojoba oil which gives the scrub it’s thick, creamy, and rich mixture. They also NATURALLY moisturize the skin without leaving my skin (or the bottom of my tub) with extra oil and gunk!
I also use this amazing scrub to shave my legs! YES I SAID IT! If you didn’t already know- the scrub softens the skin and moisturizes extremely well. I get a close shave that never has razor burn or dry skin afterwards! WIN for me!
Buy It: You can buy the Jamrock Body Scrub for $15.
The Delicious Smelling Body Butter
I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned hating dry skin and hands like a million times. I don’t like lotions or body butters that make my skin too greasy. I am usually writing, sewing, or crocheting- so I don’t need my hands so oily that they slip off my pen, crochet sticks, or sewing machine!
That’s the reason I love the Sweet Sensations Body Butter from Selma Valentine. It FEELS like any other body butter that I’ve EVER used. AND I have quite a few! I choose this over my Amber Romance from Victoria’s Secret! It feels like a whipped mousse, so it goes on perfectly.
This is whipped into complete and absolute perfection. It feels like rubbing little pearls of silk onto my skin. I’ve not only dropped this in my purse, but every time I head for the shower or bath, I DIG it out! I can’t live without this now!
It is free of chemicals, so I’ve been using it on my kids when they get out of their bath too. Now I don’t have to worry about them having chapped skin from the cold weather! AND they smell amazing (teehee). Unlike the regular baby lotions that aren’t detectable after an hour!
It has a wonderful cotton candy smell, but they’ve also added undertones of vanilla and sweet touch of musk to bring out the best in this body butter! Both the scrubs and the body butters are only $15 a piece and they last for a VERY long time.
If you’re thinking about gift baskets for the holidays- these are DEFINITELY two products that you’re going to put in it. They have other smells, so choose which ones you like and nobody could resist owning something so “spa-like” in their own home.
I am in LOVE with both of these products and will definitely be buying more from Selma Valentine. I LOVE what they stand for, that they are eco-friendly, and that all of their products are absolutely PERFECTION.
BUY IT: You can buy the Sweet Sensations Body Butter for $15.

TreeHut Coconut Lime Body Scrub and Lotion Review
TreeHut Coconut Lime Body Scrub
Directions: Apply all over body in circular motions in shower or bath
This body scrub has rated 10/10 on my body scrub list. It is lightweight, yet very moisturizing. You can feel the small grains in the scrub which is awesome, because it exfoliated my skin just perfectly. The texture was amazing!
In the shower, after washing with regular body wash- I scoop this out by a small handful (with my hands of course) and rub it on my skin directly with my hands (or a washcloth).
I love to use this as a shaving cream as well. The grainy texture exfoliates my legs while giving me the closest shave I have EVER had with anything! My legs were so soft, smooth, and supple. I couldn’t believe I had such a close shave with a body scrub.
After my shower, my skin felt awesome! Most body scrubs feel oily to me. Not only did they leave oily marks on my clothes, but they also made my skin retain the oil and give me bumps and ingrown hairs on my thighs. Not with this one. Because it isn’t greasy, all it left was softness.
It is easy to wash off, and my skin LOVES this. My skin seems to soak up moisturizers now. My skin is nothing but brilliant now! This has even helped my Keratosis Pilaris (chicken bumps).
I got some fake bake bronzing lotion, and you have to exfoliate before using it, so that the bronzer doesn’t stick to your older skin cells. This body scrub was the most perfect thing I could have used with the fake tan.
My skin was so soft and all my dead skin cells were gone, so that all was left was clean skin for the bronzer to cling to. I didn’t have any streaks or really dark spots.
I don’t find It necessary to use this daily, maybe 2-3 times a week. My skin definitely keeps smooth until the next use. I don’t even have to use lotion when using this. That is a big statement coming from me!
The smell is amazing. I hadn’t heard of coconut lime until bodycology launched their line of coconut lime lotion in 2009-10- I got some but I’m telling you- THIS brand smells much better and is cheaper!!

Directions: Apply daily; morning and night.
I am in LOVE with this lotion. It is so thick and creamy yet doesn’t leave a greasy oily. This is such a smooth lotion, goes on so creamy. I think my skin has fallen in love. I use this more than I do my Amber Romance from Victoria’s Secret.
I am definitely looking forward to having this in the winter. My skin gets itchy, red, and flaky from the cold weather. This is a gentle lotion that gets the job done. It smells amazing and the smell lasts for a long time.
After taking a shower, I smother my body in this. It just feels so amazing. I have even used this to tame the frizz I get in my hair after being outside sweating playing with the kids. If I am not taking a shower for a little while longer, I’ll just rub a dab of this in my hair and it works wonders!
It contains vitamins A, C, and E. So it’s naturally a skin soother and smoother! Definitely has me hooked. I am addicted not only to the lotion and scrub but the SMELL!!
