Finding an organic hydrating shampoo and conditioner is like hoping to win the lottery. There aren’t many choices out there. And the ones you do find mostly do NOT hydrate and fortify split ends and damaged hair.

Shielo does! I have worked with Shielo before and I have never been able to say enough great things about their amazing organic hair care products! I’ve never had the experience to review any of their shampoos or conditioners; until now.

This Shielo shampoo and conditioner are so different from any other moisturizing hair products because they also offer the ingredient White Tea which helps protect for UVA rays.

If you didn’t already know- the sun fades our hair color. I have had this happen to me every single summer since I was small. My hair in the winter is a dark brown color, and in the summer it turns almost dark blonde.

So, this year- before the sun could get to my dark locks, I decided to go ahead and DYE it dark brown with a hint of cherry in it. Pretty pretty color, but it also gave me a bit of dried ends and frizzy hair that I hadn’t had before.

I have been trying to replenish the moisture that the dye took out of my hair. I didn’t think dying it a darker color would do this, but it definitely did. The first day of dying it- my hair was extremely soft and silky. The second day, my hair was horribly frizzy.

This shampoo not only protects the hair from UVA rays, but it also enhances the color of your hair. HALLELUAH is all I could say! The shampoo and conditioner also contain shea butter. Shea butter is GREAT at giving hair a protective barrier of moisture by sealing it in the hair shaft.

It contains vanilla and hibiscus to soothe dry scalp. Dry scalp can happen from coloring your hair. This can also turn to really bad dandruff if you don’t get a hold on it before it gets too bad.

I have definitely noticed a huge difference in the texture of my hair. As it was frizzy and had split ends before- now my hair is nothing but smooth and silky. I can blow-dry my hair without it plumping and frizzing out!

My hair has become definitely stronger. AND smells absolutely divine! Both of these products smell like coconuts and peaches. Such a tropical delicious AMAZING scent!

Having hair that needing nourishment, and being able to find it pleased me to no end. My hair has become extremely easy to manage, shiny, and absolutely stunning!

The best thing about these are that they will last at LEAST a month or two because it doesn’t take very much at all to get it washed and conditioned. My hair is pretty long, so not having to use very much was a great experience in it’s own.

Putting on the shampoo and then washing it out, I could immediately tell that my hair was on it’s way to recovery. Usually I have to use conditioner before saying something like that. This shampoo was all ready working without the conditioner. The conditioner was just a huge plus that added on an even better experience!

Most shampoo’s that are organic do not lather really well, so it feels like your just rubbing lotion on your hair to wash it. Not with Shielo- Shielo’s shampoo was amazing at lathering it up.

Both of these bottles are made with number 2 plastic, which means that they can be thrown in the recycling bin. Saving the earth from hurtful plastic bottles. The company also makes their products sulfate free, paraben free, and free from animal cruelty.

I would definitely recommend this shampoo and conditioner to those who have color treated hair, over processed hair, dried out hair from heat styling, or just anyone needing some extra TLC.

I love straightening my hair. I love the way it makes my hair so sleek and shiny, but it the damage can be EXTREME- It can burn or singe your locks. Over the past year, my hair has suffered damage from blow-drying and straightening every single day. My hairs ends had become split, and I admit that I need a haircut.

This leave in protectant is very lightweight. Makes for a great for protecting hair from heating tools. You wash and condition- and then spray this into your damp hair before blow-drying or straightening.

This is also amazing as a detangler. Although I don’t get many tangles, I still love having something in my hair that will help detangle it if I should. Preserving my recently dyed hair is also a must. This spray works wonders against UVA rays. No color fading here!

My hair shines SO much now and has been protected from further breakage and damage from the styling tools. It smells hawaiian- like a hint of coconut- tropical, breezy, and awesome!

My hair is also less frizzy than it had been before using the spray. Even if my hair starting frizzing from the heat, all I had to do was re-spray this in my hair and brush it.

I would definitely recommend this for people who need that extra protection from straightening or blow-drying OR just as a detangler. It works so well in so many different ways that it is definitely worth this price!

Women’s 70 Costume Review

Before you know it, Halloween will be right around the corner. Summer is coming to an end, and fall weather will be in the forecast before long. Pumpkins, Leaves, and Costumes..
I was able to review a Sexy Women Costume from Costume Supercenter. There were so many different choices that it was SO hard to choose. I didn’t know which one would be the best for me, because they all looked so amazing.
They had TONS and TONS of categories that looked appealing to me. I immediately started looking through the Sexy Gangsters category. No- not the pants sagging, limping, bullet hole Gangster. It’s the 1920-30 era gangster costumes. Cool, huh?

They also had a can-can dancer that really caught my eye. It was elegantly made, with off the shoulder dress. Pink and was bunched up in the front.

I started thinking though- I could use a costume AS a costume, but if I chose something that could also fit as a beach-cover or summer dress would be awesome. I immediately started looking through the 60’s & 70’s costumes.

I found one that had detachable sleeves and looked like it could also be used as a beach cover up or short summer dress that I could wear shorts underneath it. I loved the colors and the fact that it came with a matching headband. It was the Free Spirt 60’s costume. It has such bright colors, and has a metal peace sign on the right side of the halter top tie back.

I thought it was really cute. I loved it besides the gaping top- But because I love to sew- I can fix it right up! That’s a huge plus! I love that this is so colorful and looks amazing with a bathing suit underneath.
I can throw this in my beach bag and have something lightweight and fashionable to put on after I get done swimming to wear before swimming. I love it!

My Thoughts*

ToiletTree is definitely an amazing company. A while ago I got to check out their Fogless Shower Mirror, and I LOVE it! Now, having the chance to review the ToiletTree Professional Rechargeable Oral Irrigator I Love ToiletTree even more!

This product is designed to clean debris, plaque and bateria from between your teeth and along the gum line. AND it works. WAY BETTER than floss! Works 100x better, and works better than EVEN the floss picks.

I’d never had the experience of using an oral irrigator before (Except at the dentist, of course). So I was extremely excited to try this! It is battery operated, so you aren’t stuck to cords. I didn’t have to worry about getting the cords wet or Adam breaking his neck clotheslining himself on it while we both getting ready for bed.

This Oral Irrigator is amazing! It is lightweight and compact, and the charge on it lasts for 45 days! How amazing is that! I love that I can store this in my bathroom cabinet and reach it when I need it, it takes up such a small space!

It comes with two color coded nozzles, so that Adam and I can each have our own without accidentally getting them confused (if they were the same color). If you haven’t ever used an oral irrigator before- BEWARE: You will fall IN LOVE.

Because I had never used one before- I turned it on and accidentally sprayed my stepbrother AND the ceiling. It was pretty hilarious. You might also want to consider not putting it against your teeth AND closing your mouth. You don’t want to end up with a wet shirt before work! LOL.

It works in ways that floss never could! The pressure from the water goes through the spaces and cracks between teeth to push out stuck food, plaque, and everything else! My mouth feels so healthy and my breath SO fresh.

Using the Oral Irrigator is super simple. The Blue part (on the back) detaches and you can fill it up with water OR mouthwash. You push the on/off button and then can choose which mode you want. It comes with 3 different modes; Normal, Soft, and Pulse.

I usually use normal, but if I have eaten something that has stuck between my teeth- I use the pulse. It pushes the water or mouthwash with an even harder force to get that hard to reach. AND I don’t have saliva all over my fingers (as I would have using floss)!

This would be perfect for taking on a trip. It is so compact that It could fit into my travel bag and because the tips come off- it’s an even bigger PLUS! I have been using this after every meal and snack. I just LOVE how refreshed it makes my mouth!! =P

Skincare Routine is something that I haven’t really followed in my life. I had TONS and TONS of random cleansers, moisturizers, SPF’s. I would use one on day one, and not use it again to the next week half the time.

Routine were NOT in my line of sight- especially when I was younger. I would ALWAYS rebel against someone or SOMETHING telling me what to do. As I get older though, I started realizing that a routine (especially when you have kids) can be a great thing!

Order creates ease with both adults and kids. The more routine you take in your life, the easier it is to accomplish stuff. With the 5 Step Regimen from Somme Institute, it creates beautiful, blemish free, glowing skin!

Thankfully, that didn’t happen with me. My skin was and IS used to jumping back and forth from product to product, so I didn’t have any breakouts AT ALL. My skin was probably begging me for some structure in a skincare regimen.. lol.

Being just a pinch away from being a hoarder- all of you know that I have tried all the latest and greatest mineral makeups, lipsticks, skin care products.. Looking great and feeling GREAT about myself is something I definitely wouldn’t put a price on.

Being a makeup junkie- AND having oily skin- YOU KNOW that I have to try the best skincare regimens because being beautiful doesn’t contain having acne, sun spots, or fine lines..

Somme contains a cleanser, exfoliating pads, a serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. PLUS- I already had the Somme Institute Boost Warming Mask. So I got 6 steps.!!

So- having a 5 <6> stepper was definitely new for me. I can definitely stand on their side and say that this has and STILL will be helping me maintain youthful, vibrant skin.

Step 1: Nourishing Cleanser, gentle cleansing $40 for 8 oz.

What is it? A non-foaming, non-drying gel cleanser containing Molecular Dispersion Technology 5 (MDT5), a patented technology of vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E designed to help improve skin tone, texture and clarity. It deep cleans the skin while leaving it feeling dewy, soft and refreshed.

This is a gentle cleanser that doesn’t bubble. The cleanser is creamy and feels silky. Putting it on, I could immediately feel that it was a hydrating cleanser and that it was moisturizing as it was cleaning.

My skin didn’t feel stripped of it’s natural oils, although the bad oils were completely gone. My skin felt extremely clean and my skin LOVED this. Makeup- Say BYE BYE. This definitely is a great makeup remover.

It seemed like it dissolved the makeup right on the spot. Not many cleansers can say they do THAT!

Step 2: Transport, (Exfoliation without Abrasion) $58 for $50 pads

What is it? Soft cotton pads with AHA to gently exfoliate dead cells on the skin's surface. Transport contains Molecular Dispersion Technology 5 (MDT5), a patented technology of vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E designed to help improve skin tone, texture and clarity. Transport promotes resiliency, hydration and cell renewal.

These are such amazing pads. I couldn’t believe how clean and smooth my face felt IMMEDIATELY after use. When I first seen these, I thought they might be like Stridex pads. I used them in my teen years. My skin would feel refreshed but it never helped all the blemishes.

This is 10x better than the stridex pads. It contains AHA’s as well as the MDT5, so it exfoliates the skin better than a peel. People with sensitive skin may want to skip days on this treatment, but my SKIN loved it.

It tingles and feels so amazing. I KNOW I’m getting a great cleaning when I can feel all my cells jumping up and down shouting YES!! at me. And that’s exactly what they did. It did moisturize while it cleaned as well. My skin was never dried out because of this and I used it daily!

My skin was instantly brighter and more luminous. I had an instant glow to my face! NO it isn’t pregnancy. LOL. I even used these pads on my shoulders as well. Because of the sweltering heat- I had previously been breaking out where my bra straps rub my shoulders.

So after using them on my face and neck- I would flip it over and use the other side to exfoliate the skin underneath my bra straps. WA-LAH no more breakouts under there. How excruciating it was to have zits under there. Thank god they have disappeared.

Step 3: Treating: Serum (Boosting collagen and Lightening discoloration)  $82 for 1 oz.

What is it? During my life, I’ve been able to try some fabulous healing serums- but Somme Institute has ingredients in their serum that I’ve never before tried. This has such a light, glorious smell to it.

My skin immediately soaks this up. I think it thought “I’d better eat this up while I have the chance”. There is no stickiness left on my skin, as well as no residue or oiliness that other serums have given my naturally oily skin.

This serum beats the crap out of fine lines, wrinkles, premature aging, skin damage due to UVA/UVB rays, and evens skin tone. Although I can’t say that this erased my wrinkles, because I am 23 and don’t have any- but I think using this will prevent wrinkles and fine lines.

This is a highly concentrated form of Vitamin C and this is essential for lines, wrinkles, and aging. Regardless of how old I am, I don’t WANT lines and wrinkles and will take all the steps to prevent this!

Step 4: Moisturizing A-Bomb, accelerate cellular renewal $70 for 1.5 oz.

Although I have oily skin, my skin loved this as well. Usually my skin would rebel against me, and have some sort of fit which would always end up in a breakout or two. Not with this. This was like a magical concoction that my skin relied upon to get me through the day.

This is the perfect moisturizer. It isn’t greasy or oily to my already naturally oily skin. It moisturizes with Vitamins A & E, and soothing to skin.

Step 5: Double Defense, protecting sunblock with SPF 30

Protecting your skin from Sun Damage is a must these days. I know that TONS of people sunbathe or go to the tanning bed, but frankly- I don’t want to look like a leather handbag when I’m in my 40s/50s.

I’ve seen women like that and they can be quite scary looking. UVA and UVB rays give your skin TONS more wrinkles and lines then if you had shaded yourself from the sun.

Even if you have been victim to the harmful rays of the sun, these products will totally reverse the signs of sun damage and free radicals on your skin.

I loved using these in the morning and then applying my makeup over top of them. They seemed to make my makeup stay on longer, last longer, and feel flawless all day.

Overall-

Using it the FIRST time, I could tell that I was going to love this. BEFORE- My skin was definitely splotchy from having combination skin. Oily in parts while dry in others. I had large pores that created blackheads constantly and I couldn’t find anything that really helped me out in this department.

Within the first week, I could tell that my complexion was definitely brighter, clearer, and looked so baby fresh. I didn’t have MANY dark spots but I did have 2 that I wanted gone. NOW they are gone.

My skin had no bad reactions to these products! I loved them!!

My Thoughts*

 

Just over the past year, my hair has become damaged and frizzy because of the amount of heat styling I use. I blow-dry and straighten my hair daily. One-Two times weekly I curl it. I have tried many items to cut down on the split ends and damage that I’ve done to it.

Nothing has been working. I thought about the Emtage Silktage Rejuvenating Styling Serum Organic Oil to help me out. As soon as I got this, I was dying to try it and see the results! I opened the package, and noticed it had a screw on top.

You unscrew it and it has a small hole in the top of the bottle. You just tip it over and it drips small drops into your hand. I use about 3-5 drops at a time. You can use this on wet, damp, or dry hair. It is light brown in color and smells good too. You can smell the organics in it, so it does smell a bit, but it still smells good.

This is SO naturally healing and extremely great for dry, damaged hair. After the FIRST use, my hair felt smoother and was easier to manage. There is no silicone or chemicals inside this oil, which makes it EVEN better.

If you read the ingredients, Organic Camellia Oil is the first ingredient, Monoi Oil, Broccoli seed oil.. So only naturally occurring products in it. This is PURE magic. My hair looks the best it has in the past year. It has basically restored my hair to where it was before I harmed it with blow-drying and flat irons.

My hair was never weighed down or sticky like most healing oils. Not only did this help with my split ends, but it added volume to my fine hair when used as a before shampoo treatment.

My Thoughts*

Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum

I love love LOVE this product. I use this in the morning and evening after I’ve washed my face. In the morning, I use this before I use Moisturizer mixed with SPF in it. At night, I use it before I put on my night cream.

This face firming serum is lightweight, so you can use it under makeup and not be able to tell it’s there. It doesn’t take much (a dime sized amount) to get my entire face and neck.

Everyday that I use this, I can tell that my face looks firmer, smoother, brighter, and healthier. Having a glowing, firm complexion is what every woman wants. Why use a product that contains tons and tons of chemicals when you don’t have to?

This feels like a magical serum whipped up especially for me. I have really large pores on my nose. I have always had issues with blackheads that I could never seem to get rid of, and only certain products would work for me. The unevenness in my skin texture is also problematic.

I have combination skin- so in some parts, my skin is oily and contains very large pores. In other areas, my skin is normal/dry. This serum is amazing for any type of skin. If you have oily skin, you won’t have to use a moisturizer on top because of the natural moisture that this puts in your skin.

The serum comes in an easy to pump bottle, so you don’t have to worry about it getting spilled, or getting too much at one time. You only get what you need for one use when you pump it once. I bet this bottle will last me 3 months or more at everyday twice a day use. So if you divide 40 by 3, your only spending $13 on an amazing facial revitalizer.

The serum is a yellow tint, and smells like roses.. =) My skin definitely feels tighter at the second week mark, my face is brighter, lighter, and more luminous. I can see my HUGE pores getting smaller.

The best thing about this is that I can use it in the morning and then put my makeup on over top of it. My makeup doesn’t run because of the serum, so I am extremely happy.

I was given the chance to review a pair of glasses from Just Eyewear. I had such a hard time choosing because they had so many beautiful, fashionable glasses that I loved. You can choose from flexible titanium, big plastic frames, progressive lens, transitions, and more.

These glasses are true to your prescription. All you have to do is call your current eye doctor and ask for these certain things to get glasses just like you would ordering straight from the eye doctor (BUT MUCH MUCH cheaper).

When you choose which pair you want, they have options to ADD on to the glasses if you wish. I didn’t get any extra’s added on, I just got the stand anti-scratch coating with the plastic lenses.

They still felt better than most of the glasses that I got from the eye doctor (That was $100+). These glasses- I really liked.

They fit me absolutely perfectly. Most glasses are too large for my head and slip off my face when I bend my head down (these didn’t). They were just the right size.

I am loving the color I chose! Because they have a clear front- They go with any outfit that I wear. The sides are decorated, that way I did add some coloring to the glasses.

I’m not sure if you can see that clearly- the flash on my camera really blinded the coloring. But they are white with black mixed in.

 Having a craft room is one thing, but having a functional craft room where you can create and get things done is something else to consider. There are many factors that are a part of developing a space that you will love and that’s organized too. From finding a sturdy table to revamping a space that will look lovely too, it’s possible to structure a craft room and make it exactly how you want it.

Sturdy Work Table – If you don’t already have a sturdy work table, making cards, sewing, or creating mixed media is a lot easier to do on a sturdy table as opposed to one that’s about to collapse any second. Find a large and durable table that’s either made out of metal or wood and use this to work on every single day.

 Easy Storage Boxes – If you can’t afford to buy hat boxes, boxes from Target, or go to a store like the Container Store to buy functional storage containers, get practical and save boxes such as unused pizza boxes. Other boxes that you can use include shoes boxes and even boxes that you receive gifts in the mail from! Transform these boxes into practical storage containers and you can also make them pretty if you want to! A pizza box is the perfect size to store rubber stamps and other items that are the same size.

 Have a Sink Area Nearby – Having a sink area nearby is recommended, but not necessary. A sink will make cleanups a lot easy to handle and not to mention a sink is also very convenient. You won’t have to deal with carrying messy materials with you everywhere. If you’re not near a sink don’t fret, there are other alternatives such as using a container with a spout or filling a bucket up with water.

 Accessible Materials – Many crafters like to store their scissors, stamps, and other materials in drawers, but having select items out in front of you might be a better way to go. Try gluing magnetic strips to a wall and hang scissors and other tools there. You also could mount a peg-board and hooks and hang other supplies for easy access, as opposed to searching high and low for that one item you can never locate right away. These are just a few tips to get you started on creating a fabulous craft room that’s not only practical, but fun too! If you want to implement other glam furniture (besides just a table) for a pretty craft room, look for a sofa sale online and other sales that are going on. You can continue to add to your fun filled craft room and create a room that’s fabulous!
