Review: Toe Juice

Just because fall is here- doesn’t mean you still won’t see me sporting flip flops and cute sandals. I am always fighting dry skin on my feet though. I have been using foot soaks, scrubs, and files to banish the dry skin. Who wants to have dry, rough feet? NOT me!

I was recently introduced to Toe Juice, which helps take care of all that dry skin! It is a fast drying liquid that you squirt on your feet and rub in. After using it, it makes your feet OH so soft and lovable!

Created by a high school chemistry teacher in the 70′s, Toe Juice also stops itching, burning, and irritation from such ailments as Athletes Foot, psoriasis, ringworm, foot fungus and eczema.

Don’t let the name fool you though, it isn’t just FOR your feet. You can use this virtually anywhere; hands, underarms, arms, and legs as well. You have the choice of applying by hand, or by a cotton swab. I just put it on with my hands, it’s totally safe.. and you can just wash your hands (after touching your feet) and reapply it to your hands!

When I first seen the bottle of Toe Juice I instantly thought it looked more like a hand sanitizer, but it isn’t. It doesn’t have the alcohol feel of a hand sanitizer (and alcohol can be drying to the skin).

I am VERY pleased to say that Toe Juice has absolutely revitalized my dry and almost cracked feet. They were so dry that I would get shivers if they touched the covers. I would be putting lotion on them ALL the time. I can’t stand dry skin!

I constantly wear socks if I’m not wearing flip flops or sandals. I can’t stand to walk around barefoot. <UGH, MORE dry skin>. When I applied the toe juice- it did seem as if they were drier at first, but it also kicked the itching sensation. After the first use though- it DOES soften and rejuvenate feet and toes! WOO HOO

Review: Packaways

I have to admit that I am quite the hoarder. I have tons and tons of clothes, shoes, makeup, skincare, books, and binders. As we are living in a smaller home right now, I have to pack some of up until we move back into a larger home.

When we moved I used cardboard boxes to store our stuff in. I absolutely despised it. They are hard to carry because it’s hard to bust through the push in handles. The bottoms busted out of them EXTREMELY easy. I went to the storage shed to move some stuff around so I could bring out the winter clothes and put up the summer.. and when I picked up a box of books, they went EVERYWHERE.

I am a book NERD and I simply do NOT want my books to smell like they are old, get wet and mildew, or be eaten by mice. Have you noticed that mice can just either find their way into a small hole in the box (either at the top or the handles) or chew right through cardboard?

I did. My Christmas ornaments were chewed all to pieces about 5 years ago when we moved. I stored all my stuff at my grandmas in the shed, and when I went to pick it all up- there were mice bite marks EVERYWHERE, and everything was chewed to pieces.

That’s what I really like about Packaways. They are a brand new storage tote made from durable corrugated plastic that simply fold away when not in use. I am certain that mice can’t chew through them and they protect my stuff. I know that my books are safe in these storage totes because they don’t cave in like boxes.

Instead of having to stack totes inside totes when they aren’t in use- these fold flat and slid against a wall in a closet. I love that they not only save space when they are in use, but they also save space when NOT in use.

I LOVE the colors. I looked everywhere for colored totes before, and didn’t see any that weren’t so tiny that I couldn’t fit even 2 pair of shoes inside. These are large enough to accommodate my summer clothes and the kids.

I ended up receiving 2 boxes. A lime green one (SQUEAL) and a blue one. I LOVED that they had green. Green is my favorite!! ♥

When you get them they are completely flat. So to open them up to look like the above pictures- you just press the bottom sides down and in to each other and they buckle in to place. Very VERY simple to do.

They have the easy push in handles on the side- so that they are very easy and conveniently moved when they need arises. They aren’t 100% waterproof, because water COULD leak in the handles and through the opening in the top. BUT if you are using a storage shed, storage bin, or your garage- water isn’t going to be getting in or on them anyway.

These can be used and reused time and time again because of how sturdy they are when they are broken down. I LOVE these bins, I really do. I am definitely going to have to get some to put my fabric and yarn in..

They have wipe off panels on the front so that you can use a dry-erase marker to write what’s in them, wipe it off, reuse it for something else, and re-label. How cool is that! They are easy to use, and then easy to re-collapse and store.

The bins also come in Pink and White- so a total of 4 different colors!

Great Fall Projects for Toddlers

Fall is the time of year when people begin thinking about cooler weather and the changes taking place outdoors. This is a great time to bond with one’s toddler-age children as older children are returning to school and the house is emptier. Toddlers love activities that are colorful and require the use of their hands and their imaginations. No matter what interests a child may have, one of these great fall projects is sure to stimulate them and create a day to remember.

Art Projects

§ Finger painting is a great activity in the fall since it can be done indoors on cold or wet days. The colors of the autumn can be great inspiration here as children mimic the bright colors of leaves. To make an individualized tree for finger painting, the child can dip his hand into brown paint and create a great tree with five finger branches.
§ Crafts with real leaves, pinecones, acorns and more are a perfect way to celebrate the fall. Create a wreath made of pinecones glued to a Styrofoam circular wreath form. Glue leaves onto construction paper or poster board, then laminate both sides for unique autumn placemats.
§ After choosing a pumpkin at a local pumpkin patch, the toddler can use finger paints or large foam paint brushes with washable paint to decorate the pumpkin safely. Finish the pumpkin by gluing on craft eyes and a felt mouth.

Outdoor Projects

§ Picking apples at an orchard is a great way to get into the crisp outdoor air while teaching the child about how apples grow. The apples can be eaten with peanut butter for a snack or can be made into applesauce.
§ Raking leaves is a fun and necessary fall project. Even a toddler can help with a child-sized rake. Make it a vigorous activity by jumping into the pile afterwards, or create a game by hiding a toy or sucker in the pile of leaves and searching for it.
§ Nature walks are easy to do at multiple state parks, in city parks or around the yard. The child can use simple white printer paper and colorful crayons to make leaf and bark rubbings.

Cooking Projects

§ Baking cookies is a fun way for a child to get involved in the kitchen with mom. The child can mix dry ingredients together, help mom use a measuring cup and shape cookies into balls.
§ Rice crispy treats are fun for a child to shape into fall objects like acorns, pumpkins and turkeys. The treats can then be decorated with sprinkles, frosting or other goodies to make personalized designs.
§ Caramel apples can be made with apples picked at a local orchard. Although children should not be allowed to heat up the caramels, they can help put a stick in each apple, dip the apple and decorate it with sprinkles and other fun baking accessories.

Holiday Projects

§ Helping create Halloween costumes is a great way for a child to become involved with something created just for him. Creative costumes can be easy and homemade by using leftover material, duct tape, string, fabric paints and other household staples.
§ For Thanksgiving, toddlers can help to make table decorations. Making a tracing of their hands on construction paper and cutting them out can create the feathers of a turkey. Other projects include construction paper pumpkins and paper cornucopias filled with candy pumpkins. Letting the child become involved in each place setting will give him the feeling of involvement and importance.
§ Stuff a scarecrow for the yard with old work clothes, a straw hat, some burlap and hay from a local farm. Toddlers will love to create a decoration for the yard and will enjoy personalizing the scarecrow’s face.

These are just a sampling of some of the fun projects that toddlers will especially enjoy in the fall. My Thoughts*

I absolutely FLEW through this book. I couldn’t seem to put it down. The characters are so enticing and just make you love them. This isn’t your everyday romance novel. This brings laughter AND tears, aggravation and excitement.

As I am reading through this book, I actually felt like I was reading the life of a friend- I totally got lost in the characters, especially the main 2. The words and characters just wrap themselves around you and put a spell on you..

I couldn’t break away from this book. I took it with me to pick my son up from school and sat in the car reading it. Usually it takes forever.. this time I was actually thinking to myself “My god that was fast” as the traffic started moving forward.

This is an absolute MUST read, even if you don’t read romance novels. This isn’t some kissy face book that can’t hold a candle to real life. This is all about REAL and I believed every single bit of it. Yes, it does include romance, but the fiery love romance- not some muscled up man loving a raven haired beauty that he spotted from afar..

I just don’t usually dig romance novels, but I’m telling you—I LOVED this book!

Finding a Laptop Backpack for a 17” laptop is pretty hard. When I got the laptop, I looked everywhere for something to store and carry it in. They didn’t have any at walmart, target, or best buy. I was saddened.

Then when I seen that Airbac had a backpack that not only would fit my huge laptop, but would also help protect my back from all the heavy weight, I was IN and totally excited!
With a regular backpack, there tends to be a ton of weight shifted onto the back, shoulders, and spine. This is giving kids, teens, and young adults back problems not only more frequently, but at a younger age.
This Airbac backpack helps to disperses the weight evenly, so I am not being weighed down and hurting with shoulder pain. This has something called “an Air-bladder” which is in the lower part of the backpack and sits on your lower back.

It helps the backpack to sit more evenly with your body instead of having issues being too high, or too low. The shoulder straps are also padded, so if you carry your laptop and textbooks, the shoulder pads help protect your shoulders from being cut into.
This backpack is like a dream. I SO wish I had this when I was in high school. I don’t know how many days I come home with an aching back because I had homework from every single class. All the books were pulling on my shoulders, causing major pain in my neck and back.

This helps with the weight, it’s comfortable, AND stylish. I love how this backpack looks. I love how many pockets it has, and how it protects my laptop. When you sit this bag down on the ground while you’re in class the “air-bladder” protects the laptop and keeps it from touching the actual floor.
It comes pre-pumped with air. It holds the air for a year, and it can be pumped with a regular hand pump or an electric one. You just put the pump tip into the little circle and refill the air.
Not to mention that it’s protected by the extra insulated laptop sleeve that is inside the backpack. It has a velcro strap that lays over the laptop and velcro’s the laptop in.

There bigger zipper compartment with the 2 zippers is a store all pocket. It has a smaller version of the major compartment. It has a space to put a tablet or ereader, pencils, pens, smaller notebooks, a calculator, anything you need.

There is an even smaller pocket in the front that I am SO glad is there. I can stick the charger to both my laptop and the charger to my camera, so that if one of them start to die I can just break out the chargers and not have to worry about it.

The two side pockets can hold wallets, sunglasses, or anything small. I use these two pockets to store my USB plug-ins and SD cards, so if I need my blog designs or pictures they are right at my fingertips.

The backpack comes in red and blue. This is the PERFECT gift for high school students, college students, or working people who have to take their computers and tablets with them.

Review: Made from Earth Peppermint Conditioner

Review: Perky™ PLUS Stain Remover Review

I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old, and a pit bull puppy. The kids seem to be little tiny tornados. Between all 3, it seems they can create quite the stains. Stains are a part of our everyday life.

Whether it’s spilling stuff on the carpet, or dragging dirt and mud on their shoes.. I have to jump on the stains right then and there or I am left with dirty, icky SMELLY stains.. ICK. But the stained life just got a bit easier when I received a full bottle of Perky Plus Professional Spot & Stain Remover.

Perky Plus safely removes grease, blood, pet, and other household stains from carpet, upholstery, vinyl and other fabrics. Groom Industries has been in the business of stain removal for over thirty-five years, so they know what they’re doing when it comes to stains!

We have beige carpet in our living room, which I absolutely despise because it shows EVERYTHING. There is nothing that doesn’t turn into a big brown spot on this carpet. I sure do wish I had hardwood floors.. lol.

We have worked our way through every carpet cleaning product on the marker, and even bought a shampooer. But.. getting the stains out isn’t so bad since the Perky Plus came into our home. All I have to do is flip open the flip top bottle, squirt the stain and wait 2 minutes, then scrub with the WHIZ GROOM brush.

My kids have spilled everything from milk, coke, tea, and even food such as marinara sauce on my carpet. So I have spent most of their lives scrubbing and scrubbing carpets just HOPING the stains would come out.

Now that we have a puppy, he can be quite the tornado as well. His tail has knocked over stuff, he has peed in the floor before I could grab him and take him outside- he has even thrown up in the floor once. SO- the Perky Plus isn’t just a stain cleaner to me, it’s a life saver and time saver!

My husband works outside all day. He is a foreman for our local tree trimming service, so you can just imagine the mud splatters. A couple of days ago somehow she squished a quarter size pile of mud into the carpet. No matter how many times I tell him to take his shoes off at the door- he doesn’t listen.

So—this happened.

I swear it didn’t even take me 4 minutes to get BOTH of these stains out. You dab with a washcloth or towel after using the Whiz Groom Brush. The stain just seems to go into the washcloth and right out of the carpet. This IS a magic stain fighter and I LOVE it. I SO wish I had known about this when my kids were toddlers and we had leaky sippy cups. Oh how much sanity it would have saved me.

Review: Pouchee Ultimate Purse Organizer Pouch

 

My purse can sometimes look like a disaster area. I tend to carry a larger purse so that I can fit items either I need or my kids need at some point during the day. BUT this can make it SO hard to find something when just reaching in.

I end up having to dig around for at least 5 minutes trying to feel around until I discover something that feels like what I am looking for. Sometimes I hit the spot, sometimes NOT! Just depends I guess. It seems the more hurried I am, the less I can find. Weird, huh?

I am also sure that there might be a little furry monster living in there that steals my pens and hides them somewhere deep deep inside his cave of a home- and maybe my change as well..

So- the conclusion? It’s a gigantic disaster inside there. Well, it was until I found the amazing Pouchee Purse Organizer. The pouchee has helped me organize all my random stuff that was always somehow stuck to the bottomless pit.

Inside I have room for lotion, spray, hand balm, and anything else. It has a zipper pouch on the inside of one side, I can stick change or my medicine in it, so I don’t have to search forever and a day for them.

I LOVE green- for all of you who didn’t already know. I flip OUT over anything green, so I loved that they sent me the Apple Green Version. It’s made of cotton, and feels so amazingly soft.

When I opened the package, I immediately dumped everything out of my purse and started organizing everything. I was VERY surprised at how roomy the POUCHEE was. Of course, I have found room for more stuff inside my purse now that everything is in order. I now have room to stick my camera bag inside, so I can randomly snap shots of my children at the park!

Of course- this was designed by a brilliant mom who was gifted a beautiful purse that had no inside pockets. She thought she wouldn’t ever get to use it because there was no where for her to put her things, so she thought up the POUCHEE.
