Dotmine Day Planner Review

Dotmine sent me a 17 month planner to review. I got to choose the color (Granny Smith) and I couldn’t have been happier with a planner. Regular planners didn’t work out so well for me. There was no way to tell which day I was on unless I put a paperclip on the “day” page and usually the paperclip wouldn’t stay.

Here is the front cover and inside pages. I love that when you open it up there is so much color and quality!!

With Dotmine, it comes ready to use! It has it’s on string bookmark built into the planner. It’s so easy to flip to the page and keep reminded of the things I need to do.

 

Other planners are too big or too small. This Dotmine planner is absolutely AMAZING. It is big enough so that I am not running over when I write what I need to do or what I’ve done. It helps me stay organized, and my days go much easier. I can slip this into my purse, my messenger bag, or my laptop bag and take it with me wherever I need to go.

 

I was sent one of the older planners, but they just came out with an entirely new design of the planners. They are great for ANYBODY! Whether you’re a mom who needs to know what kid needs to go to what practice, a writer who needs to know when certain things are due, or a professional/college student who needs to know certain important dates.

They are better than regular planners because instead of 12 months, they are 17 months. They are 17 months instead of 12 because they accommodate the 12 calendar months as well as the school year. Not only does this make the planners great for parents and students, but it makes it easy on teachers as well.

I also love that they are so colorful and bright. I hate bleak, bland planners that don’t bring any pleasure to my life. When I see my bright green planner, I feel something different than just a planner. I feel like it’s personalized to ME.

GreenBackpack Recycled Binder & Coloring Pencils Review

Recycled Milk Jug Binder

The Binders are made of recycled milk jugs. I love when companies find something creative to do with plastic milk jugs. I've seen really cool blocks, tonka-like dump trucks, and other toys from GreenToys- but NEVER seen milk jugs made into binders.

This is something that I can really appreciate. I love love love binders, and I always HAVE. As I am packing my stuff, I suddenly realized that I could possibly start my own library or tutoring service because of the amount of books and binders I have. I packed 16-17 boxes in one night and all but 1 was books and binders.

Since I was a little girl, I have bought and collected tons of binders. I have this NEED and it's a very strong need to learn. I love learning, and I love copying my own notes into binders about books I've read. How could I possibly keep a binder long if it isn't made of something sturdy and it's easy for the front cover to tear off? I've had plenty of binders do that, and they were all those same regular black binders that come from walmart. The cheaper binders, although the other's aren't great quality either.

I love that the front of it is a slick recycled plastic. I was going to write my name on it, and I had already packed up my sharpies, so all I had near was a whiteboard marker. I'm glad I did, because I learned that you can use dry erase markers to write to-do lists such as term paper assignments, homework tasks, notes to study, or for me-- blog post reminders.!

The binder is very thick- about 2 1/2- 3 inches in width, so this could be a binder that could last your child all year throughout a class! Where dry-erase markers can be used on them, you could even use them for several years- just erase the first year's class and write in the new one.

This is by far the most durable binder that I've ever used. Since it's made entirely from a recycled milk jug, you can FEEL the strength. I'm not sure I could rip this one if I tried. I am VERY glad that I ran across GreenBackPack. Not only are they an amazing company who is doing their part to help consumers feel great about their purchases, they have some really cool and amazing products.

Recycled Coloring Pencils

These coloring pencils are awesome. I have been going to the library whenever possible here lately to post reviews and check on my blog, since I am moving and before that was having trouble with my internet provider. Now that I can throw these awesome coloring pencils and a notebook into my bag, my kids stay entertained and I can get more work done.

I love how vivid the colors are. I didn't know what to expect, since they were recycled, but to my amazement- they are EVEN better. They are better because they are made from 100% recycled paper and comes in 12 different colors.

They write and color the same as regular crayola coloring pencils, but help the Earth, the United States, and our Communities by using recycled paper and putting it back on the market for a good use.

I am all about ECO-friendly products. I don’t want to see the Earth, OR America all trashed- people throwing things out on the side of the road and pitching garbage by or in our water sources. Everybody can start somewhere, how about buying recycled school supplies for your children or even yourself?

You wet your hair like regular shampoo and then lather and massage this in. You leave it in for 5-7 minutes. 5 for a regular shampooing with extra benefits, or leave it in for 7 to let it do what it does best, and let it soak into your hair follicles. This gives long dry the suppleness it craves.

Most people with long hair would agree that it takes a MAJOR quality shampoo to help dry hair regain it’s moisture. This shampoo is amazing. The only thing it doesn’t have is a flowery awesome smell, but since it’s like a medicine for hair- I didn’t really expect it to. It works wonders. I love using this, because I feel like I’m giving myself a pamper day at home every time I use this and the conditioner.

I can blow-dry my hair after using these and I have absolutely NO flyaway's, no static, no random hairs straying everywhere. I usually have to wash my hair daily with regular shampoo and conditioner because I have oily hair and they weigh my hair down. Not this one. I don’t even necessarily have to use the conditioner to get my hair so silky and smooth! After just 1 USE you can tell the difference in your hair!

This doesn’t foam like other shampoo’s because of the natural ingredients, but it doesn’t take much at all to get your whole head shampooed. Once you start using this shampoo, your going to want to add this to your hair care regimen forever. Your not going to look at shampooing the same EVER. This shampoo is like having a cosmetologist giving you a shampoo and rinse at your house every single time you use this!

Masque a l’orchidee

This conditioning mask is formulated with plant ceramides that strengthen the hair, film-forming silk proteins for unparalleled shine and botanical oils to increase hair flexibility. This mask works like a genuine nourishing, detangling and softening treatment for very curly, even frizzy hair. Blowdrying is made easier. Cruls are more flexible and can be shaped at will

This Masque does absolutely everything it promises to do. This leaves frizzy hair VERY silky and smooth. No other masque leaves frizzy hair so manageable without no frizz. Masques either leave hair too oily because of all the extra’s it adds and how much it weighs it down, This masque is absolutely perfect. It doesn’t weigh my hair down AT ALL and takes only a about a half dollar amount to get all my hair conditioned.

This Masque needs to be left on for 20 minutes, but it’s 20 minutes of luxury and relaxation. It smells really nice and leaves my hair feeling so moisturized yet not gummy or oily.  It makes it sleek yet helps make your hair so full and have so much volume.

The amount that it strengthens my hair is amazing. My hair feels so amazing that I can’t stop running it through my hands over and over. I felt like a high school girl twirling my hair—!

Usually when I blow-dry my hair I get some static and frizz, but not when using it with this masque. I can leave it in, relax, and rinse. Let it air dry or blow-dry it and style my hair and all day my hair is so manageable, shiny, and feels so amazing.

If your hair needs some MAJOR TLC or you want to keep it from needing it in the long run, this is an amazing Masque and I definitely recommend it.

There are some other Leonor Greyl products that I am dying to try. They have such amazing products with such high quality. These products just make me feel so great just sitting on my counter, looking so sophisticated- knowing that if I need that extra TLC I have it right at my fingertips.

When blow-drying my hair before using this Pureology Anti-Split Blow-dry, my hair would frizz out and I was definitely afraid of getting damaged hair and split ends. When using high heat to style hair, it definitely CAN harm your hair and it will make your hair break off or make it look extremely frizzy.

Now that I have this, my hair looks extremely better and I am not worried about getting damaged hair anymore. This makes my hair look 10x’s better and looks extremely healthier. When I use this, it makes my hair look like it has been professionally blown-dry. I love this.

It has a creamy, smooth formula that glides right in the hair without leaving the hair all gunky or feeling greasy. My hair is stick straight, always has been. As long as I can remember, there has only been a handful of products that have actually helped hold curls in my hair. This is one of them. and I was surprised because it was a mousse. Usually I can only get mousse to help me get a beach wave look. This helped me style my hair in anyway I want to style it.

See how bouncy, shiny, and manageable this looks? I love this mousse and it doesn’t take very much to get this look.

I couldn’t ask for more from a mousse. Manageable hold without the stickiness or greasiness. Great smell. Great packaging, great customer service, and great hair care at home.!

I have worked with LoveTrueNatural before, and I really love the products they sell. They carry natural products that work wonders. I love that they have the best customer service and are very helpful. If you ever need ANY kind of help you can always email them and they respond very quickly.

This time I received two pieces of mineral makeup from their Benecos Line. I was sent a mineral liquid foundation and a mineral powder foundation. I chose the Nude Liquid Foundation and the light sand powder foundation.

Benecos Creamy Liquid Foundation

The liquid foundation goes on very smoothly without looking like it has been caked on. It's coverage is absolutely unbelievable, and it is so creamy and smooth. It covers everything; old acne scars, scars, zits, redness, rosacea.. You name it, they got it covered (literally). The foundation looked like a second skin. It lasted forever it seemed, with no running, no smearing, no coming off in certain spots.

It covers up redness and dark circles without looking like it's covering anything. I had people tell me that my skin was flawless, because they thought I didn't even have makeup on. Most mineral liquid foundation is either very thick or too thin to cover anything. This was the perfect consistency to look natural, yet hide all those spots that don't need to be shown in public.

The makeup is pure vegan and organic and doesn't contain any wheat. I'm not allergic to wheat, so it wouldn't be a problem for me, but some people do and it would be an issue for them. It is a certified organic, and has the label to prove so.

The color I chose is for fair skin, but they have other colors, so you don't have to worry if you have another skin tone. They have something for you as well, and you can get the best coverage available as well.

Benecos Mineral Powder Foundation

The powder foundation is also exquisite at hiding imperfections. I usually use both at the same time, and it still doesn't look like I have any makeup on. It blends so well with the color of my skin that it just looks natural. This is the way that all makeup should be, although it isn't. I've seen too many references to being rolled in Dorito's on facebook here lately. I have no idea why women and girls think that if they apply a darker toned makeup that their skin tone is automatically going to look tan. It doesn't and their face looks absolutely horrid.

I can get the tanned look and I don't have an olive or medium toned complexion. The trick to this is to use an absolutely amazing mineral makeup. Use the liquid and then the powder foundations, and make sure they are the same color as your skin tone.

Then use a mineral bronzer and a bronzer brush to slightly brush your cheeks and the places where the sun would naturally touch your face. This gives you a suntanned look without looking like an oompa loompa.

Both of these products are wonderful. The liquid foundation is amazing at coverage of all the unwanted redness, scars, black eyes, puffiness, and anything else that doesn’t need to be there. This creamy, lightweight formula does more than a regular foundation without all the icky smells and it cleans up very well.

The mineral powder foundation is great at blending in and making your face look flawless. It doesn’t seep into pores to cause acne like non-mineral makeup. It leaves your face feeling natural and yet beautiful. You don’t look like your makeup is caked up. I love the coverage that this gives and how it doesn’t sweat off in the middle of the hottest part of the day. I don’t have to keep reapplying it.

How to use Moisturizers for a Glowing Skin

Believe it or not, all moisturizers are not the same. In an effort to save money a lot of companies use
chemical ingredients that can be harmful to your body. With prolonged use these creams can actually
dry out your skin and promote early aging which directly contradicts the point of using them. Before you
take your next trip to the beauty store, reading these tips will give you an idea of what to stay away from
as well as how to use moisturizers to produce the naturally radiant skin that we all desire.

- Stay away from Parabens! In recent years dermatologists have begun to ring the alarm about the
widespread use of synthetic preservatives, in particular the chemical Paraben. If used on a regular basis,
skin creams containing these ingredients have been known to cause breast cancer as well as prostate
tissue damage in men. Unfortunately this ingredient is used in the vast majority of creams as it is very
cheap to manufacture. A far safer alternative would be to use moisturizers that contain vitamin E
instead. Vitamin E is a natural preservative and also a vital nutrient that we need in order to stay healthy.

- Do not use petroleum based moisturizers. Yes, chances are you probably own several products,
including moisturizers, that are based on petroleum. These are a big no-no if you want healthy and
youthful looking skin. This is because petroleum is a mineral oil which cannot penetrate the skin. Instead
of moisturizing and rejuvenating, petroleum clogs up the skin and stop it from being able to breathe and
expel toxins. Because of this, prolonged use will actually dry out your skin and lead to earlier aging.

- Apply your moisturizer when your body is still damp. Beyond a doubt, the most opportune time to
apply your moisturizer is when you have just finished taking a warm shower and toweling yourself dry.
Doing this is important because during the day our skin naturally dries out as we go about our day to day
activities. Applying your moisturizer when your body is still damp will help to lock in the extra moisture
and give you a natural head start to your day.

- Be consistent with your use. Many people only use their moisturizers when they notice visibly dry and
flaky skin. But yy then the damage to your epidermal layer has already been done. The best thing you
could ever do for yourself is to prevent this from happening in the first place by using your moisturizer as
much as you can. This does not mean over applying it, but instead applying it consistently every day and
it will only be a matter of time before you get the healthy and radiant skin you want.

Beyond a doubt, obtaining beautiful and youthful skin is a dream that is shared by a majority of women.
But if you follow the advice given above, you can realize this dream faster than you might think. The key

Borghese Hair Care Review

Borghese Modena Moisturizing Shampoo & Borghese Modena Moisturizing Conditioner have a light, warm scent that I can’t really put a finger on. It seems like there is a hint of vanilla, although it doesn’t really SMELL all of vanilla. There is something else in it, but I’ve never smelt a combination like this before. I really like it.
The Modena Moisturizing Shampoo Enriched with Aloe and Pro-Vitamin B5 provides deep repairing moisture to dull brittle hair and restores body and sheen. The Modena Moisturizing Conditioner provides smooth feel and shine to dry hair. Improves color depth and longevity and protects against heat damage while styling.
These leave my hair silky smooth, very easy to manage, and not weighed down like some moisturizing shampoo’s. I really love that I don’t have to wash my hair daily because it doesn’t make my hair oily. Even on the third day, my hair looks the same as it did when I washed it. This is from someone who must wash hair daily, usually.

Borghese Milan Volumizing Mousse. The Milan Volumizing Mousse offers outstanding volumizing benefits to straight hair and smoothing defining benefits to curly hair. I really really like this mousse. It is light and doesn’t make my hair stiff, although it holds extremely well. It is easy to use, and doesn’t take too much to get the job done. I have used this in two different ways and it worked perfectly for each.
I used this on slightly damp hair and crunched it up. It made my hair look like I just came from the beach with perfectly amazing waves. The only other hair product that I’ve had WORK on making my hair wavvy (I have naturally straight hair) is Aussie Sprunch, and although I liked it- my hair felt stiff and never once budged an inch.
With this mousse, I can get the acquired wavy look without the hassle of having hard, non-moving hair. It looks perfectly natural and yet holds as well as a hair spray would. I love it!
I also use this before blow-drying and it makes my hair have tons more volume and looks so sophisticated. I have never had this from a mousse before. Most of them didn’t hold very well. This mousse is very foamy, and doesn’t have a problem mixing in my hair.
This is an awesome volume mousse, it works very well. My hair is in the middle of being fine with a little volume to it, but not enough that I don’t want more at some points! Besides adding volume, this works very well to speed up the blow-drying process. It makes the blow-dryer work so quickly!




The Borghese Giovanni Volumizing hair gel is infused with botanical oil and Pro-Vitamin B5 provides super hold, high shine and superior humidity resistance,
Directions: Rub a small amount between the palms of your hands and apply evenly to dry hair. Comb through and style as usual.
Out of all the hair gels I have tried in the past, this one is the VERY best. The other hair gels would make my hair stiff and it wouldn’t look naturally styled. I hate my hair being stiff, so therefore I didn’t keep with the other gels. This hair gel has a very strong hold but doesn’t make my stiff.
Other hair gels would take a long time to dry and my style wouldn’t stay in place before the gel would dry. This gel dries very quickly, letting my style hold in place without being stiff and knotty.
It smells the same as the shampoo and conditioner which is a warm light scent with a hint of vanilla. This gel is very high quality but yet doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I love that the names of the products are so unique and classy.

Borghese Salermo Silking Hair Oil
The Salermo Silking Hair Oil with passion-fruit seed oil encourages healthy hair growth, improves shine and color depth. Restores moisture to dry, limp hair. I love this. I have used plenty of Hair treatments/oils that claimed to tame the frizz in the summer months and reduce the amount of static, but haven’t yet found one that didn’t leave my hair oily, greasy, and looking like it hadn’t been washed in a week.
This is perfect. I can use this when I’m blow-drying, straightening, or just letting it air dry. My hair has never once felt oily or greasy, and it still has it’s just been washed look. It tames the frizz (even in the sweltering heat).
Most products that help tame frizz also make my hair greasy and look unwashed. This Hair Oil never has. I put it on my hair when it’s damp, and it only takes a dime size amount to go over my entire hair!
I can use this before I blow-dry and it looks like my hair has been professionally salon blown dry. My hair still feels lightweight and I can’t think Borghese enough. It’s hard having oily hair and finding products that don’t add to the oiliness.
I can also use this before I let it air-dry and my hair still looks shiny, smooth, and manageable. Even without blow-drying it, it still doesn’t add any weight to my hair, and doesn’t make it look greasy like other hair oil’s.
I really like this Hair Oil, and I recommended this to my mom. She recently got her hair permed and it tends to frizz out a little. So, when she put this in her hair, she had nothing but curls. No frizz, static, or fly-aways!
Overall.
I love the packaging that these products have. I’ve never seen any hair products in brown bottles. They look so classy and stunning. These would be perfect for a hair salon, because they are the highest quality yet don’t cost an arm and a leg.
All the products have a clean spa scent. And none of the products are over $20. I love that these products are so cheap, yet they have the quality of expensive products, and work just as well, or even better.

My Thoughts*

 

I have been taking Prevagen for an entire month, and I have felt that it did help me to concentrate more than before. I can now sit down and read for hours (even with kids acting crazy in the background) and remember every single thing I’ve read.

Before taking Prevagen, I had a hard time concentrating because it was always up and down, getting up from the book and getting the kids out of something and then back to reading- I would lose my place and have to start the page all over.

As a writer, I need that extra focus. Sometimes, I need to sit down and organize and think clearly about what needs to be written, what needs to be reviewed, the blog posts I need to write, and so on. Before, I would lose interest after a short amount of time because of all the distractions, but that isn’t a problem at all anymore.!

Now I can read and be interrupted, and continue where I left off, with no problems whatsoever. This also tends to lift my mood and make me feel better. It seems to lift the “fogginess” from my brain that I get every now and then. I get into moods where I don’t want to do anything because I get such bad headaches. After taking Prescription Ibuprofen 800 and the Prevagen, my headaches have gone away, and life feels so much better.!

I have also noticed that I tend to sleep more soundly now, and feel as if I wake up more refreshed than I ever have. Usually I feel groggy and disoriented for awhile, because my daughter, Adisyn, still wakes up during the night. So, I’m not getting the deepest level of sleep. Now I can wake up, take a Prevagen and feel significantly better.

My energy level has boosted as well as how organized I feel inside. I have always have rapid thoughts because of my bipolar. I couldn’t concentrate on one single thing for an extended amount of time. Now i can sit down and do the tasks at hand without my brain going haywire and malfunctioning.

My thinking has been quicker, and I feel sharp as a tack. I’m only 23, but I like to stay on top of things. I don’t want to be up in the years, failing to remember, having problems doing tasks that need done, or having issues with memories.

I will absolutely put this in my daily regimen of vitamin pills. You can’t be too cautious these days about side effects of medicine, but Prevagen hasn’t had any. There is no letdown to taking this medicine. The only ingredient is apoaequorin.

For use as a mask: Smooth a generous amount evenly over damp skin, avoiding eye area. A rich foam mask will immediately form on skin. Leave on for 1-2 minutes. Rinse well with water by massaging in a circular motion. Use mornings and evenings.

I used this as soon as it came in the mail. The bottle looked amazing, and I couldn't resist just using it upon first sight. The bottle is clear glass with a pump top and you can clearly see the green liquid Mask inside. Looked very classy and appealing.

You can use this on dry skin (as a mask) and leave it on for 2-5 minutes. When the cleanser is dispensed into your hand- it feels like any other cleanser, but you can feel the unique texture! It feels like putting mousse or shaving cream all over your face. When it starts drying, it tickles because it creates these tiny little bubbles that pop all over your face. I like it. I've never had a face cleanser feel like this before.

The mousse isn't necessarily green though. It's white with a slight green tint. It smells refreshing- like cucumbers and melon. It invigorates my skin, makes it feel fresh and moisturized, without any oiliness. I love that it can be used as a Cleanser AND a mask, so your getting twice the face care.

As soon as I put it on (as a mask, on dry skin) I just keep massaging it into my face for the 1-2 minutes that it is on there. After the first 30 seconds of rubbing it in, it becomes invisible, so it isn't on your face like a regular face mask. You don't have to keep it on as long as regular face cleansing masks either. Usually it's 10-15 minutes. With this cleanser, it's 1-2, or if you want- 5, but no longer than that.

I can put this on my face as a cleanser (on damp skin) and it also works very well. My skin feels smooth, soft, and no oil anywhere. I have naturally oily skin, so I love when products benefit my skin and help instead of making the oiliness worse.

I can tell that my pores have unclogged (the ones on my nose are the worst) and seemed to bring out even the deepest blackheads. This DOES dissolve makeup very well. It doesn't take minutes of hard scrubbing or pressing hard for it to do it's job.

This has made my face naturally healthier, and definitely more supple. I can say that this is one of my favorite skin products that I've tried this year.

It's amazing that this can also double as a shaving cream. Not many cleansers can claim to do that. Although I have used many of body washes as shaving creams when I ran out and forgot to go to the store. They didn't work quite as well as this does though.

Because it automatically reduces redness, it helps with redness, irritation, and razor burn. It's soft but yet strong enough to do 3 jobs! I mostly use this as a mask though, because I love the way it feels on my face. I've used it as a shaving cream, but would rather save it for my face.

I've used it in all three ways and it's high quality face care without a giant price tag.

My Thoughts*

I like that there are only 9 ingredients involved in this wonderful little tube. There isn’t a long list of ingredients that may contain harmful chemicals that will eventually hurt you. It is sensitive enough for contact wearers and those with sensitive eyes, yet is SO strong that I never once even had to check whether it was still there or not.!
I love how this doesn’t just paint your lashes. The formula that it is created with creates a tube that covers each individual lash. It holds tightly, so you don’t have to worry about it running or smearing once it’s applied. I have tons of mascara and this is by far the best one out of the bunch.
The wand is small enough to get every single lash, without fail. The mascara doesn’t clump up, and it easily washes off in the shower. Even if you aren’t taking a shower before bed, just wash your face as normal and the warm soap and water will get it off.
I love that there isn’t a huge mess of paint on my face after taking this off, as with other mascara’s. I never get raccoon eyes, and I don’t have to worry about getting it everywhere. It’s more “wet” than other mascara’s, so you have to work fast to get the desired look.
For a natural look, just do one layer of the mascara. If you are looking for dramatic, sexy eyes- apply the mascara one eye at a time, making sure you hurry and add a second layer only seconds after the first. If you let the tubes dry before adding the second layer, your lashes aren’t going to be as pretty as you thought. If you hurry, there’s nothing like it. No other mascara can compare to this.
My other mascara’s are totally lonely, sitting in my makeup bag untouched since I received Blinc. I have never used anything like this before, and love the volume I get with this. I have always had long eyelashes, but other mascara’s made the lashes clump together.
Not only are you getting a great mascara, but you’ll also be saving money on makeup remover and remover pads. Plus, this Mascara is all natural vegan.!

My Thoughts*

I didn’t particularly like this, but it wasn’t the Mousse, it’s because my eyebrows are so thin that you could tell that there was colorant on it. I let my mom try it, and she loved it! She said that it never faded all day! She works 8-9 hours a day and the mousse was still in-tact when she returned home.
It didn’t run or smudge, which is what she was afraid of. She thought that she would look like a clown at work with colorant dripping from her brows, but that wasn’t a problem at all. She said that she used hot water and soap to remove this, so you don’t HAVE to use makeup remover.
She said her brows looked amazing all day, it filled in the spots were hairs were thinner and looked ghastly. She said that it definitely increased her skin’s moisture, but didn’t make her skin oily underneath. She never got zits or anything from the added moisture to the brows.
Although this product wasn’t for me, those of you with thicker brows would love this. I don’t know why I keep my brows so thinned out, but I think it’s because I had a mishap in high school with a eyebrow thinner and it shaved off half of one of my eyebrows and it never grew back the same. So now I keep it thinned out so you can’t see that the brows grow in patches!

Here recently, I’ve been thinking about hiring a Maid once a week to do the Heavy Duty stuff, so that I have more time for work, the kids, or just relaxing. Maid to Please kept popping up, and although it isn’t in my area, their services seem spectacular! Maid Services in Reston VA
