Kenra Hair Care Review

I had the chance to work with Kenra hair care. Not only did I get to review 3 items, but they were all from the platinum line. I chose the review the Blow-Dry Spray, the recovery polish, and the recovery mask.

When the mailman brought this box to me, I was excited to open it. The bottles are so elegant and stylish and make my bathroom counter look so sophisticated. I’ve never seen any hair products with the platinum look. They are beautiful.

Platinum Blow-dry Spray

 

This is an amazing blow-dry spray. Not only does this protect against heat styling tools, but it also dramatically reduces the time it takes to blow dry hair.

This is so many things in one. It smooths, detangles, AND helps to keep the humidity OUT while preventing frizz. I had been having problems with my hair becoming damaged from blow-drying and straightening it too much, so I wanted to find something to help me out with this.

You wash and condition your hair as usual, towel-dry it until it’s damp and then spritz this all over your hair. Wait a second for your hair to absorb it, and then comb from your roots to the ends.

Then you can either go straight to blow-drying your hair. I wait 5 minutes before blow-drying it though. The longer you wait to blow-dry it, the less damaged it will become.

This bottle isn’t like a hair spray spritz though, it feels more like a body spray nozzle- that way you aren’t getting an aerosol spray. You can spritz as much or as little as you need to and get amazing results.

I have been using this now for about 2-3 weeks, and I am happy with the results. I am absolutely HOOKED on this spray. My hair is extremely soft and manageable, while it doesn’t even take me 10 minutes to blow-dry my extremely long medium thickness hair.

Before using Kenra- it would take me possibly 25-30 minutes to not have one wet spot on my head. AND my hair would poof right up, so I would have to straighten it right after blow-drying it. This is what led to the damage in the first place.

I have definitely noticed a change in how my hair looks after it’s blow-dried. It is smooth, silky to the touch, and there isn’t any frizz AT ALL. It smells amazing, and helps eliminate the coarse split ends without weighing it down and making it look oily.

Platinum Recovery Polish

You rub this silky cream into the palm of your hands until it becomes clear. You can rub this all over your hair, or just at the ends, depending on where you need it.

This is an ultra lightweight leave in treatment. This is amazing at recovering hair from it’s dry damaged state. It also keeps humidity from frizzing hair for 20 hours!

You can reapply this as needed, so it’s great that it is a thin bottle. I can toss this into my purse and take it with me to the waterpark (chlorine can be horrible for hair). So after I get out, I rub some in (all over my hair) and don’t have to worry about the damage from the chlorine or exposure to the sun.

I used this in damp hair and used it on dry hair. When I got out of the shower one night and was too tired to do anything but crash- I woke up the next morning and rubbed some of this into my hair before straightening it.

It was amazing because my hair was twice as shiny and smooth as it would have been if I’d just straightened it regularly. It kept the tiny little hairs that poke up everywhere down. My hair looked so amazing and felt so strong, not (almost) brittle as it was becoming! AND this product smells amazing!

It is made with essential vitamins and minerals to fight dehydration in the hair and smooth the damaged cuticle layer (outside) of hair to give it a natural beautiful silky smooth shine with natural movement. There was absolutely no oiliness, greasiness, or frizz!

Platinum Recovery Mask

If you have dry, damaged hair and are currently looking for a mask to help those dry, dehydrated locks- YOU’VE found it. I was totally amazed at this mask. Usually masks leave my hair looking like I haven’t had a bath in months.

Not this one- it revitalized and restored my hair without one BIT of greasiness at all. I am in LOVE. My hair has made a 100% turn around with these three products. I couldn’t have made a better choice when choosing something to help me out.

My hair looks like it wasn’t even damaged in the first place. My hair looks thicker, has more shine, and even more volume. The reason this product helps so much better than the other brands is because it’s infused with proteins that fortify, repair, and protect the hair shaft.

It helps to reduce the amount of breakage that hair has, which has made my hair look so healthy. It gets down to the deepest parts of the hair strands with the natural oils that are in it.. so it isn’t just making me think it’s working- it’s actually doing it’s job!

It also helps scalp problems. I have really dry scalp which can turn extremely itchy and irritating. When I put this in my hair, I made sure to rub it all the way down to the root into the scalp.

You leave this in for 3-5 minutes (after shampooing) and then rinse with warm water. You can use this daily, weekly, or bi-weekly depending on how damaged your hair is. My hair was pretty bad off because I wasn’t only blow-drying it, but I was straightening it right after- which led to my non-split end hair becoming full of split ends and looking horribly damaged.

This can be used for any and all hair types. Whether you just need some extra TLC, you straighten and blow-dry it, you’ve permed it, or colored it- this is like the milk to the cookies. This is exactly what my hair needed to retain moisture, lock in softness while locking out frizz.

It also has color care complex ingredients in it, so if you HAVE colored your hair- this will help hold your hair color longer. So you aren’t having to dye it even more than you should have to.

Very awesome product all the way around! This has been a terrific hair (and life) saving treatment for me. Being in the south with all the humidity and heat hasn’t made an impact at all on what this amazingly magic mask can do!

The Dermud line is amazing at relieving dry, cracked feet. I have been in love with this foot lotion since the first time I used it. It is formulated from Dead sea mud which helps to relieve itchiness, redness, as well as scaling & peeling of dry feet.

This is a thick- rich in moisture lotion which is great for relieving the dryness. It’s spectacular because it doesn’t contain ANY greasiness at all. It is made with Aloe Vera & Shea Butter, Coconut and Jojoba oils, and Provitamin B5 and Vitamin E. It is a slight brown color that does LOOK like mud =)

The Aloe Vera & Shea Butter help to smooth and soften very dry skin, The coconut and Jojoba oils lock in moisture for all day comfort. and the Provitamin B5 and Vitamin E protect from becoming dry and rejuvenate the skin.

Having dry feet in the summer is a no, no for me. I am constantly wearing sandals or flip flops and I don’t want dry, cracked skin showing while I’m at the beach, the zoo, or just hanging out the house.

This has really made an impact on the dryness as well as the scaling I was having on my heals. It does take away the itchiness that comes with wearing socks and sweating in them. I love this foot lotion.

It doesn’t have a fragrance like most foot lotions do. I didn’t like using foot creams or lotions that smell like mint because it is overwhelming. I can use this, and know that my feet aren’t going to smell like I’ve blasted my feet with peppermint.

It rubs right in without any problems at all. Ahava does recommend that you wait 15 minutes before putting on socks to that your feet can soak up as much as it can.

After 2 weeks of using this- my feet feel and look amazing. I love this more than any other foot lotion or cream I’ve ever tried.

Green Virgin Cleaning Products Review

I am excited to tell you about a new GREEN cleaning company. Green Virgin Products. This company is an online company that offers cleaning products that are totally chemical free.

I am not going to sit here and say that I am totally “GREEN.” I have been tweaking and adding stuff to my cleaning habits this year to make my home as chemical free as I can.

I have been learning a TON this year about different products and how harmful chemicals can be not only in bathing products, makeup, and home products but ALSO cleaning products.

I used to think that something that could clean that well couldn’t harm my family or me because it IS cleaning.. right? WRONG- Oh, how wrong was I.

Green Virgin Products has just about everything that anyone needs to clean their home.

The Soap Nuts

They carry all natural soap nuts Soap Nuts are the fruit of the Chinese Soap Berry Tree. These soap nuts are harvested and then dried in the sun- SO all natural!

This can be used for tons of items. They sent a little piece of paper with the soap nuts to explain how to use them and what ways they could be used IN. I thought “WOW”.

The soap nut contains saponin, which has cleaning abilities equal to those chemical induced cleaners that we are all used to. The first thing that was said to use this for is laundry detergent.

"Did you know that chemical laundry detergents, fabric softeners and dryer sheets should be avoided at all cost? Yikes! These products contain chemicals classified under federal law as carcinogens, toxic and hazardous. Some are on the EPA hazardous waste list. The list of health hazards associated with the chemicals in laundry products is staggering and extremely serious. There are known carcinogens in nationally advertised brands of laundry detergents, fabric softener and dryer sheets.”

The soap nuts come in whole nuts, so you break them down (which is easy to do by hand) and place 5-7 broken up nuts into the smaller bag and throw them in the washer AND dryer with your clothes. These nuts are completely organic, green, AND hypo-allergenic. Which means that there will be NO rashes, no redness, and no itchiness. You can even use this on delicates and baby clothes.

Saving money is also a big plus with switching to Green Virgin. Most organic cleaning products cost MORE than regular cleaning products, which is why it’s harder for some people to make the switch. Not with Green Virgin. These Soap nuts are both Laundry detergent AND dryer sheets, so think of the money you’re saving.

This is amazing because you can REUSE these many times before they disintegrate and you need more. I really liked them. At first- I was kind of iffy about using them. I had never used a soap nut as a laundry detergent before and didn’t really know if my clothes would be clean OR smell clean.

They did though. The dirt was gone from the kids clothes and the coffee I spilled on my shirt earlier that day was gone. I was impressed and excited to have found such a unique alternate to chemically processed detergent.

This can also be boiled down and used as an everyday cleaner. It can be used as a soap to wash your car, your pets, dishes, or even use it to wash your vegetables before eating them.

I got a pump action bottle with this to try with the soap nuts- I washed anything and everything in my house with this. I used it on my counters, on my refrigerator, walls, bathroom, and stove. THIS was amazing for cleaning everything.

Nothing had streaks or left behind gunk. I really liked using this and will continue to purchase this for my family. It was so unique and really worked on everything.

Natural Deodorant Stone

I also received an all natural deodorant stone. It is 100% pure Mineral Salts Deodorant Stone that contains no aluminum, carcinogens or toxic chemicals which are typically found in commercial brands.

You can also use this on smelly feet. All you do is get the stone wet and apply it under your arms or on your feet. I used this on the hottest days of the year this year- it was 107 here in July and it was absolutely horrible heat. I couldn’t walk outside without breaking into a sweat.

Of course, we didn’t even have the pool put up until it started cooling down- so I didn’t get any relief there. My kids were BEGGING and PLEADING to go outside. SO- I decided to give the stone a whirl and see if it really worked as well as it said.

This stone can last up to one YEAR! Isn’t that amazing? Not having to buy deodorant for a year. The most awesome thing about this is that you can throw it in your beach bag and take it with you swimming and it doesn’t melt and get all gooey like the other “commercial” deodorants.

This worked amazingly! Even with it sweltering outside, I couldn’t smell even a slight hint of sweat.

GVP Formula 433 All Purpose Cleaner is an amazing cleaner. You can dilute this with water at a ration 5:1 and use it for medium duty cleaning around the house; washing the car, dish soap, cleaning the counters, and more.

I even sprayed this on the floor and used it to mop up some spills that my kids made. It worked awesomely. This cleaned way better than any of the commercial products could.

I’m pretty sure I sprayed this on practically every surface of my house, and I was never disappointed. I even sprayed this in the toilet and in the shower—WITH amazing results.

I even used this an an oven and stove cleaner. It worked fabulously. I didn’t have to let this soak forever before wiping it up. There was no greasy residue left behind. There was no problems at all with any surface I used this on. Everything was clean, smelling wonderful, and germ free without all the toxins.

I AM definitely adding these products to my cleaning cabinet now. Thank YOU Green Virgin!

You can dilute this 10:1 to use it as a cleaner for your babies/kid room as well. Wash the crib, the mattress, or anything else that needs washing or dusting!!

Because I have a really dry scalp- I dripped a couple of drops into my palms and then applied this to my scalp and hair, threw it in a ponytail and let it sit in my hair for 20 minutes while I watched TV with the kids. My hair didn’t look like it usually did. There was no frizz at all. I was surprised. My hair tends to get frizzy and unruly in the summer heat. It ends up sticking to the back of my neck and I end up just putting it into a ponytail- so half the time I wonder why I even bother to style it.

I loved that I could style my hair with this (just a small amount) and the frizz was completely gone. Of course it can’t take away the hot summer heat- so I was still drowning in THAT but at least my hair looked good while I did. =)

You can also use this on your cuticles to moisturize them- Whether you’ve just gotten a really nice manicure and want to keep it that way OR you have dry cracked cuticles, this works amazing.

Just sprinkle a couple of drop and rub into your cuticles and let those babies soak up the limelight. I tend to get these pesky little pieces of skin that break away from my cuticles and turn red and painful. This did help with that. My cuticles stayed moisturized and I didn’t end up having to fight with the pain of a split cuticle.

I love the packaging on this. The bottle looks so elegant and sophisticated. When you open this up it reveals a small hole in the top of the bottle. You just turn the bottle sideways and sprinkle some into your hands. Easy as pie.

Oasap: Fashion Bags Review

Recently I was accepted to be a Oasap Fashion Hunter! I was really excited about this because I am definitely INTO fashion and LOVE just about everything on their site.

You all know that I am a giant purse hoarder, so of course- I used my credits to get me 2 new purses and a small makeup bag!

The first handbag that I selected was the Newspaper Print Oversized Handbag which is only $24 on the website. I chose it because it is unique, fashionable, and cleverly priced. I love oversized handbags. I have tons of stuff and a small purse just isn’t for me.

This has newspaper print on the outside, in terylene fabric (feels like a glossy fabric) Which is awesome if your outside in the rain. The rain will not penetrate through soaking your phone or camera. I love it.

Inside the fabric is just plain grey with a zipper inside to hold small items. It has twin grab handles for wearing closer to your shoulder like a duffle bag, AND has a detachable long shoulder strap for wearing lower on your body.

This purse is 38 cm long, 10 cm wide, and 32 cm tall. This is perfect for my giant collection of makeup. I was keeping all my makeup in a tote but I needed something that zipped and that I could easily take with me if needed.

It holds my makeup perfectly, but this bag is big enough to be a stylish backpack, a purse, a gym bag, or whatever you need it to be. I am very creative with my purses and totes. Most of the time they each hold something different- binders, make-up, my every day purse..

The second purse I got was the Black oversized Check Detail Shoulder Bag. This bag is $39 on the website, although they are out of stock right now- they should restock them very soon. This bag is amazing. I got it to use as a laptop tote. I have a 17” laptop and it’s hard to find a classy looking laptop case, so I found a sophisticated purse that it could fit in. =)

I love the way that this look and actually even feels almost like a real leather purse. It’s big enough to fit my laptop, my planner, my agenda, and the cord to my laptop.

It even has a big pocket lined off with a zip pocket, which is great for storing my USB plug ins. I love how much room there is inside of this. Also- even though I have a huge laptop and other items in the bag- it isn’t heavy at all. It balances the weight so that it doesn’t weigh down my arm! A HUGE plus!

It zips on the top, so I didn’t have to worry about the purse falling over and my laptop taking a plunge to it’s death. It also has some really cool tassles attached to each side of the purse that can be brought up and tied on top of the zipper.

I also chose a Croc Effect Makeup Case which isn’t the color shown in the picture. The one I got is garnet red, which was the only color they had left. I didn’t get this to be used as a makeup case though. I got this to use as a coin purse or for my cell phone.

My makeup collection is HUGE and I can’t choose just “some” small items to put in there. I am SO possessive. When I pack, I tend to pack the entire house just to go somewhere for the weekend- Have NO idea why.. Just a dork like that! DON’T LAUGH =P

I am really liking this chic, classy, and sophisticated little case. It can be used as a small makeup case, an evening bag (because it has a little wristlet attached to it). OR you could use it for plenty of other items.

 

Overall:

The items came very quickly, quicker than I even expected them to! I was SO excited to open this package. I live for PURSES! I am a fashion hoarder and I admit this VERY openly. I have tons of everything. From shoes, purses, hats to clothes.. Everyone I know makes fun of me saying I could have an outfit for every single day of the year and STILL have clothes left to wear.

I’m getting VERY close on purses as well. I can’t help it. I truly can NOT. I can’t pass up a great bargain for awesome stuff. I’m pretty sure if I were rich, I wouldn’t be for very long =) LOL

I love that on the website that you can create an account and “LOVE” items, which means that you can go back and look at those “loves” when you log-in. That way- if you are waiting for payday to get here and don’t want to search through all the items again to find what you’re looking for- it’s RIGHT there.

There are plenty of items that I have MY eye on. More purses.. lol and some really cute boots.

As a mom, I have tried several methods for better sleeping with both Aidan and Adisyn. I am a worry-wort and was horribly sleep deprived when my kids were babies because they would wake up crying all the time.

This hand soap gently cleans the skin with natural ingredients and absolutely NO added chemicals. The mixture of Lavender and Bergamot is something that I’ve never smelled before. It smells good but the Bergamot takes over the Lavender, it’s still a relaxing smell.

In our house, with 2 small kids- we are always washing our hands. So we needed a soap that didn’t dry our hands out. This does offer a barrier from dry, cracked skin.

This hand soap is hand-pumped, and only gives you the amount to wash your hands. It doesn’t overflow your hands and get everywhere which is a big plus in my book. The pump wasn’t hard to work- my 3 year old could work it. BUT you can turn the nozzle to the right so it locks the top where they can’t get it in without your permission. ANOTHER huge plus.

My daughter is like a monster tornado when it comes to getting into stuff she shouldn’t. Whether it be makeup, lotion, fingernail polish, body wash, or soap.. she loves to play in it. So I really liked the fact that I could sit this on my counter and know she couldn’t get it, yet it was in access when we needed it.

The other great benefits are that it only contains natural ingredients and they all work together to give you fresh, clean, germ free hands.

The Aloe in it helps to keep skin moisturized. Washing your hands too much with a soap that doesn’t contain Aloe will definitely lead to dry hands and patches of cracked skin.

The Coconut oil in the soap is a natural moisturizing ingredient. Although it is moisturizing, it won’t leave your hands feeling greasy or oily. Coconut oil also helps to naturally strip dead skin cells from your hands while helping your hands to soak up the moisture.

The Olive oil contain vitamins A & E, which are antioxidants. These antioxidants help to protect and heal your skin at the same time. The lavender provides the amazing scent as well as helps with the antibacterial part of the soap.

There is nothing I would change about this, it is a very high quality hand soap for a great price. My kids love using it better than bar soaps and it is totally convenient because of the hand pump.

 

Tree Tea Oil Bar Soap

I was really excited to try this. I was watching Dr. Oz one day and he said that Tree Tea oil is great for infections (especially in the toenails)! Although I don’t have infections in my toenails, they have turned a slight yellow color where I keep them painted at all times without letting them breathe before applying another coat.

Tree Tea oil also relieves inflammation and pain while helping to prevent infections. Because it has such healing properties, it will also help to heal any problem areas with your skin.

This soap also contains Shea butter, beeswax, and avocado, palm, coconut, and olive oil so it is moisturizing as well as healing.
