Blog Tip: Figure Out a Link for a Scheduled Post on Blogger

 

In the blogging world, being able to schedule posts is a god send. It allows you to have the freedom of writing whenever and wherever you want. Say you know that you’re going on a vacation in 2 weeks, you could schedule posts for that entire week. They would post while you were away on vacation and your readers will still be happily reading what you write. There won’t be a gap of no posting.

Or say that you have a fixed schedule for writing. You write on your schedule that you have 2-3 hours every couple of days dedicated to just blogging. You could write out all your posts in those couple of hours and still have free days. Genius, right?

Well, what if you have signed up with a company that need their review or giveaway URL? What do you do then? There is a way to figure out a link for a scheduled post, so no worries. You could write it AND give them the pre-determined URL so you are on track for EVERYTHING.

This is also handy if you post other bloggers giveaways. You can go ahead and schedule it even if the giveaway doesn’t start until a week from the time you posted. I tend to forget if I don’t send the link ASAP.

SO- now onto HOW to find out what your link will be.

Step 1.

Go to your blogs homepage URL. Scroll down a bit and click on a post that you recently posted.

AS you can see the last thing I posted was a review of the Sol Republic Deck Speaker. SO if I click on it, I get the URL of that review.

If you look closely you can see that the title of my blog post “Sol Republic Deck Bluetooth Speaker” matches the URL. http://sewcraftable.blogspot.com/2014/09/sol-republic-deck-bluetooth-speaker.html That tells you what you need to know.

You’ll need to look at the patterns. For instance, The Blog Post

 

becomes the URL>> http://sewraftable.blogspot.com/2014/09/office-organization-with-post-it-review.html

the common denominator will always be your homepage (mine http://sewcraftable.blogspot.com) plus the /year/month that the post is made. The date is always separated by slashes /.

THEN you’ll start with the first word. See how my URL is highlighted in yellow? Followed by the year/date in red? THEN the blog post title separated by hyphens in blue?

If your post starts with “A” or “The” you will not add those in. It automatically adds the first REAL word, skips A and the every time. For instance, If I was to write a post called “The Sample Post” my URL would be http://sewcraftable.blogspot.com/2014/09/sample-post.html

Get my drift? It isn’t that hard if you’re willing to shoot a little guessing at times. It isn’t that hard once you get the hang of everything!

The soap is very creamy and rich. It has an amazing lather and doesn’t require a whole lot to do it’s job. The best thing is the tiny moisturizing exfoliation beads that are in the body wash. They gently exfoliate away any dirt and dead skin cells without drying out my skin. All the natural oils remain, with the added nourishment from the body wash. My skin feels so smooth and silky.

It leaves my skin feeling extra clean and leaves behind a nice clean scent. I am in love, I tell you. There aren’t many body washes that exfoliate without stripping the skin and making it dry. I don’t even HAVE to use a lotion or body butter when I use this, that’s how moisturizing it is. Genius AND under $5- you can’t beat that.

Sol Republic Deck Bluetooth Speaker

The Deck by Sol Republic is a Bluetooth speaker that has forever change how I listen to music. The flat lightweight design and bright color gives this speaker a modern, edgy look that most speakers don’t. It only weighs 11.5 ounces and is very slim, which makes it easier to put in my purse or bag for on-the-go music!



Ya’ll know lime green is my favorite color, so I was stoked to see that it was a color option. I jumped right in for the lime. If you aren’t into lime like I am the speaker is available in 3 other colors, which are just as pretty. It’s available in blue, red, and black (and of course lime).



I had absolutely no problem connecting to the Decks’ Bluetooth. It popped up and synced right away and shows “Deck” which can be changed if you wish. Don’t let the small size fool you, it has huge sound for such a small package.

It has the ability to connect via NFC, which is where you touch the speaker straight to your phone. I have an Otterbox on my phone, so I’d rather connect Bluetooth rather than take my case off every time. It only takes a second either way, so it doesn’t really matter HOW you connect.

It also has a “heist mode” with allows up to 5 people to connect to it at the same time and add their own song choice. Cool, huh? This is great for any kind of get together; whether it’s a holiday, birthday party, or just a regular party. Everybody gets a chance to listen to what they want, no complaining! Woot.

I am loving how long this stays charged. It automatically tells you how full the battery is when you turn it on. For instance it’ll say “fully charged” “half charged” or “needs charging”. I love this feature, because I know how long before I have to charge it back up. It also will play WHILE charging, which is cool. AND if you run off without your charger, it can be charged with most phone chargers (My Galaxy S4 and Nokia Icon charger will charge it up).



I am in LOVE with this speaker. It goes everywhere with me. I love plugging this up to my Iheartradio app and just letting the songs play while I work. Gives amazing sound and is very high quality.

Office Organization with Post-it® #Review

Working from home has it’s obvious perks; I can work my schedule around my kids, I have unlimited access to coffee, and I can work in my pajamas if I want. I can set my own hours and work at my own pace. There are also hassles that come with working from home though, the fact that I was having a hard time staying organized.

I never seemed to get the time to organize my office, and stuff just kept piling up. When I realized how much time I was spending looking for items, I quickly reconsidered and made time.

Disorganization was wrecking havoc on my productivity time, I was spending too much time sorting through stuff to find what I needed. I need that time to work, not search for stuff.
Post-It definitely helps keep me organized.


Post-it® Dry Erase Planner lets me keep my daily schedule visible so that I can stay on track. It is a peel and stick planner, so it can stick anywhere. I put mine to the right of my workspace. I’m not spending time thinking of what needs to be done, I can glance to my right and already know. It helps with productivity and keeping distractions at bay.


You can stick this anywhere, yet it comes off just as easy as it goes on. No sticky particles or a mess left behind on your walls or refrigerator. You can stick this horizontally or vertically, whichever you prefer. This is perfect for chore charts, meal planning, kids homework and activity schedules, doctor appointments.. etc.

I love that even though it’s a thin sheet, the dry-erase markers come all the way off. Usually with thin sheets, the markers smear or don’t come all the way off. I can start a new week every week without the worry that it’s going to turn into one giant mess.



Post-it® Grip Board helps me keep my important papers from being discarded. They aren’t just laying around in random spots, stuff being piled on top of them. They are in full view so I don’t miss an appointment or meeting with the kids’ teachers.


The grip board can be mounted anywhere, I added mine right beside my calendar. It has extra durable adhesive Command™ picture hanging strips. The board can be mounted horizontally or vertically, whichever works best for you. I just wanted to use it for quick reminders, so I didn’t need it for larger papers.

It’s very useful and helps me stay on top of things I may have otherwise forgotten. I need to write myself little reminders every now and then. We all know the “I’ll remember that later, I don’t have to write it down” thoughts NEVER work out so well. That’s why I am glad to have this little cutie at my fingertips!


The Post-it® Binder Tabs keep me organized for obvious reasons. Of course, there are other binder tabs, but they can’t compare to these. The others are non-sticky, where these are sticky back. They can be put straight on paper, in a book to keep a place, or in your binder.

I used these in my blog binder to separate the different subjects I write about; blogging, beauty, D.I.Y. I can now easily flip to that part of my binder to write down ideas as they come. I don’t have random papers inside that might not ever be seen otherwise. Everything looks so amazing and is grouped accordingly! Genius.


I also added these to my file folders. This was a very easy and inexpensive way to sort the different ideas I have as well. That was my main problem, I had papers EVERYWHERE. I would get an idea and jot it in my notebook and then forget all about it.

Country Girl Store: Frayed Mossy Oak® with Country Girl® Logo Cap #Review #countrygirl

Country Girl Store has done it again! I got the amazing hat that you see above. Made just for us country girls who love camo. Frayed with a pre-curved raw-edged bill to give that broken in look and feel. Super comfortable to wear for long periods of time and helps keep my hair out of my face.

This is the Frayed Mossy Oak® Cap with Country Girl® Logo. The hat has Mossy Oak® camouflage inside the frayed parts. which I love. This is a very well-made hat, high quality material. I am loving that it has a velcro attachment in the back instead of the old school snap closure. I have a very small head and it makes it easier to get the perfect fit without it bunching up in the back or being too loose. 

This is now my favorite choice of all my hats, I love wearing it. :D
