Roaring Springs paper products review & Giveaway

I was extremely excited to be able to review these notebooks. If you haven’t noticed, I am a notebook NERD. I am always buying new notebooks, binders, and loose leaf paper. I am addicted to office supplies!

I have so many interests, that it is essential for me to keep all the information separate. Because I use so much paper, I am always on the lookout for companies who are environment friendly.

Trees are becoming more and more scarce because the amount of wood being cut down and used for paper, homes, and furniture. True- some of them are being replanted, but it takes years and years for a tree to grow back the size they were when they are cut. So I was glad to find out about Roaring Springs Paper Products, which are made of sugarcane fibers.

All Roaring Spring Paper Products ARE conscious about the environment. Instead of cutting trees down and making them into paper, Roaring Springs paper products are made of sugarcane! Makes me proud to write on these beautifully constructed paper!

They have reduced their landfill waste by 99% and by producing sugarcane paper they help preserve over 60,000 acres of forestland every year! Another bonus is that they are an American owned company!

My main concern was if the notebooks would hold up to me writing, writing, and writing some more. Would they hold up to being placed inside my purse for to-go to notes while I am waiting for my son to get out of school.

Would they write the same as regular paper? Would the notebooks turn easily and not get snagged in the wire-bound part? I am here to tell you all about my experience!

The first products I am going to tell you about are the White and Yellow Wide Landscape Pads. These pads are college ruled, have 40 sheets per pad, and are 11” x 9.5”

I am always trying to organize blog posts, giveaways, and reviews that need to be written. I’ve tried writing them and sticking them in a binder, but needless to say- they end up getting torn and ripped because of how much I write.

It was nice to have these flip-top notebooks. The yellow one is for reviews and giveaways past and present. This way I can keep track of the companies that I’ve worked with, the products I’ve reviewed, and the prizes the companies have offered to my readers,

This has helped me TONS to stay organized. I started with 2010, which is when I started reviewing products. Looked at my blog and wrote down each company, website, contact info, and more. The paper is wide enough that I can get it all on one line.!

The white notebook is for non-review blog posts that I want to write. I have been swamped with reviews here lately, and haven’t gotten a chance to really write any non-review posts, so now I can just put this in my backpack or purse and take it with me when I ‘m in the pickup line waiting for Aidan to get out of school.

I can write thoughts about new blog posts, craft tutorial ideas, and mentions that I want to write. These notebooks were very easy to write on. I could even flip them over, and use the 5 subject notebook as an “underneath clipboard” so that it was easier for me to write on the back of the pages.!

The second are the Mini Wide Landscape Pads (8×6)

These little flip top notebooks are amazing.! They come in a variety of colors; I received the blue, pink, and purple notebooks. Aidan started Kindergarten this year, so he and I have been practicing his letters on the blue notebook.

Because they are already lined.. I just write the Big Letter on one space at the top of the notebook, and then the little letter in the middle of the page. This gives him room to practice his small AND big letters while having them on the same page.

I let Adisyn have the pink notebook because she wanted to practice her letters as well when she seen Aidan doing his. She’s only 3, so it’s mostly scribbles, but they LOVED having their own favorite color notebooks.

These notebooks would also be great for writing recipes, shopping lists, crafts, or just notes to yourself. They are the perfect size to fit inside a purse, so you can just drop them in your purse and hit the store- ready for your shopping with everything on hand!

Lastly, I would like to mention these amazing school or office subject notebooks. Roaring Spring Wire Bound Notebook--1 Subject , 3 subject, & 5 subject.

 

I have to say that these notebooks rank 10/10 on my paper scale. They are even thicker than regular paper. The pages NEVER get caught in the wirebound part like some wirebound notebooks.

It’s easy to turn the pages, so you can write on the back of a page. I love that they come in so many color choices. I got the green, black, and red. It was easy for me to write on the front of them with sharpies, so that I knew which notebook held what.

The inside of the notebook has 2 full pages of class schedules. This would be great for Middle and High Schoolers. So that in the beginning of the year they wouldn’t get their classes confused and end up in the Gym when they were supposed to be in science! =)

Raskullz Radgon Backpack Review & Giveaway

My little man started Kindergarten this year. I am pretty sure that I was more nervous about it then he was, but I couldn’t help it. There were a million scenario’s floating through my head about making friends, learning, lunch, and more.
I wanted him to start his first year of school off right, so of course- I didn’t want to send him to school with just any backpack. Sure there were tons and tons of backpacks with cool characters like spongebob and transformers- but I was pretty sure that most of the kids would have those.
So, when I seen all the cool Raskullz backpacks, I knew for sure that I wanted one for Aidan. They had both backpacks for girls and boys! There were different colors to choose from, so I let Aidan choose his own.

We ended up getting the green Radgon backpack, and he was extremely excited to see it waiting for him! His little face lit up like the Fourth of July!
This backpack is unlike any other backpack that I’ve seen before. It’s basically a 3D backpack with Radgons face as the top of the backpack. When we got our list for buying school supplies, we had to have a backpack that could hold folders in it.

When I unzipped the Raskullz backpack and placed Aidan’s folder inside- it fit perfectly! I can also put his snack in the big part and because it’s 3D- it saves the snack from being squished by Aidan’s back when he walks or runs into the school in the morning.
The first day that I took him to school with his new Raskullz backpack, all the other kids were asking him where he got it at. Of course, like I suspected- they had superman and spongebob backpacks! Their moms looked at me like “HELP”- so I wrote the website down and gave it to them.
For $24.99, these backpacks aren’t just a cool item they can take to school, it’s also a “friend” that hangs in their backpack cubby waiting for them to get out of school and pick them  up.
The backpack also has a small pocket in the front of the backpack so I can send notes to Aidan’s teacher. I was taking him in the school every single morning. That way I could KNOW what he was doing in school, so I could help him along the way.
BUT- they sent a note home saying that parents that were walking their children in school needed to let them walk inside by themselves, so they could understand independence and responsibility.
So, now I just send a note to school asking about what he is learning, and she writes me back about how his day went. She automatically knows to look in the front pocket of Aidan’s bag.
Aidan loves that he gets a cool dinosaur monster backpack, that no other kid has in the entire class, and I love the smile I see on his face when he asks for his backpack in the morning before I head to take him to school.
Before we got this backpack, he was actually not liking school too well. He would cry and tell me “please mommy, don’t leave me here by myself, I’ll get scared”. It tore my heart out to leave him.
Now he is excited in the mornings, and he can’t wait for me to take him to school. On his way in the school in the mornings, I can even see 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders talking to him about his backpack! SCORE 1 for MOM! Not only is he liking school, but other people engage him in conversations about his backpack! Thank you Raskullz!

Itay Beauty: Green Eyes Eyeshadow Stack Review

These shadows can also be applied as eyeliner, you can mix and match them with the ones you use as a shadow to accentuate your eyes even more! BUT- They can also be applied to your lips, hair, and face.

LIPS- Apply a light, non-sticky lipgloss. Then take a lip pencil, dip it in the color you choose, and apply it a little at a time- then cover with a shiny lipgloss. You can also apply a lip liner before applying the first layer of lipgloss and fill in the rest of your lips with the mineral shadow.

HERE is what these amazing colors look like on my skin. You will see pictures of them applied wet AND dry. On the left the pictures are of the shadows applied dry, then on the right- applied dry. Each of these shadows are 1.75 grams.

Clarity (bottom lid) + Purple (Bottom Lid)

Red Wine (Bottom Lid)  + OK (Top Lid)

Espresso (Bottom Lid) + Gold Mine (Top Lid)

Rosa (Bottom Lid) + Sugar (Top Lid)

I am still having fun mixing and matching them all. Since there are 8 stacks in each Best4 (----) eye stack, there are unlimited possibilities. I’ve never seen a mineral eye shadow be great for hair, nails, and body glow as well..

Every single color in this stack is not only stunning but it definitely does make my eyes stand out. I love that I can put a deeper color on my lower lid- lighter on my upper lid, and then also use a deeper color as an eyeliner.

I will definitely try more of these eyeshadows, there are already some I have on my list!! Not only do Itay Mineral Eyeshadows look beautiful but they have an exquisite pigmentation that has amazing staying power. It doesn’t get all over my face like other mineral eyeshadows do! I am in LOVE.

I am also liking that they have such unique names. The names are true to their coloring as well. There is basically no color that they haven’t made even better.. Mixing the deepest colors with the lightest shimmers!

Instructions:

1. For Eyes

In its simplest form, these Eye Shimmers are perfect for any daytime look. Mix and match from the large selection of colors to get the perfect look you want. Wear it dry for the perfect daytime sheen or wet to get that high fashion look, these colors will last all through the day and night.

2. For Eyeliner

Passive Aggressive Pajama’s Review & Giveaway

When ordering the shorts make sure to choose a size or two larger than you regularly wear because they do run small. I usually wear small and chose a medium to wear.

ANOTHER tip: when drying these dry them on tumble or delicate. Because they are made of cotton- they will shrink if dried on high heat. I accidentally did this. I left them in my mom's washer, and she threw them in the dryer on HIGH heat, and needless to say- they look more like panties now =(

They sell shorts,  long pajama sets, pajama pants, short pajama sets. capri pants and t-shirts! So no matter WHAT you’re looking for- they have it.

Before I was a mom, I didn’t really care all that much about how much I spent on what. I didn’t have to budget, or think about how my money was going to last me all month. I didn’t think twice about buying the newest rockin shoes, or that handbag that looked just SO awesome.
Now, as a mom of 2 young kids- being responsible is what I have to do. Finding a way to cut corners is what I do now, and I have to say- it’s pretty fun. Clipping coupons to save money on groceries, cleaning supplies, and school supplies means I have more money to spend on my little munchkins and other bills.
I have been having so much fun saving money in regular stores, but did you know that you can save money online as well? There are SO many different stores online that offer coupons now, run deals, and feature free shipping to get and keep your service. It’s nice to know that I’m getting an amazing deal!
Altrec has some amazing coupons running right now. If you’ve never shopped at Altrec, then you’ve totally been missing out. You can buy stuff for the entire family (including your pet).
If your family is active- they have EVERY single item for everything active. Skiing, Camping, Hiking, Cycling, Yoga, Running.. shall I name more? LOL. I could spend all day just looking around at all the amazingly cool items they have.
If you're not all that active- they have shoes, sunglasses, and clothing as well. I am already dreading the winter weather, I know it’s right around the corner. So, while I was there- I was checking out the winter jackets- and I fell in love with the one below.

Bahama Bronze- Spray Tan in a Can Review

 

How to use Instant Spray Tan in a Can

Since Bahama Bronze instant spray tan is an aerosol tan in a can, you simply point it at your skin and spray on in smooth even strokes. However, there are a few other things to remember while applying:

• Use the instant spray tan in a tub, shower, outdoor area or anywhere with any easy to clean floor. It's possible to stain any nearby flooring with overspray so be careful.
• Shake the can well before use. This will help clear up any clumps that may have formed in the can or in the spray nozzle
• Hold the can 10 - 14 inches from your skin and apply in smooth even strokes
• Dab off any excess spots or clumps before it dries
• Do NOT apply lotions, oils, deodorants, makeup, or perfume prior to spray tanning.
• If solution gets on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet immediately wash off with soap and water.
• Do not shower for 6 hours after application.
• Remember that Bahama Bronze instant spray tan is not to be used internally so when applying to the face hold your breath, close your mouth, and shut your eyes.

How does an aerosol tanning spray work?

Bahama Bronze's aerosol tanning spray formula is extremley similar to the formulas used in professional airbrush tanning salons and misting machines. The active ingredient across the board for all of these tanning formulas including Bahama Bronze is DHA (Dihydroxyacetone). DHA causes a reaction with the amino acids in your skin that creates a deep, bronze tan...except without any possibility of getting burned! The result is a perfect tan with no orange tones and no streaks.

While you'll be tan immediately after using our aerosol tanning spray, your tan will gradually darken and set in over the next 12-24 hours following application. The tan will last 5-7 days depending on how thick an application is used. Remember, Bahama Bronze does not contain suncreen of any type. Be cautious when styaing out in the sun for longer periods. My Thoughts*

I was excited to try the Bahama Bronze Spray Tan in a Can. I thought it was going to be like a real spray tan. It seemed simple enough. Almost as soon as it came in the mail, I read the directions and was thinking of applying it right away.

When I read that it had to be applied either in the shower, or outdoors- I had to end up waiting for the application. I didn’t really know what to do about applying it, so I just stood in the shower and sprayed it on myself.

It was kind of like spraying a bubbling mousse on my skin. I’m pretty sure the nozzle is the problem. It lets out too much of the spray, resulting in a HUGE mess, and splatters everywhere. The product ends up not even sticking to my skin. I tried to rub it in with my hands, but I ended up just making it 10x worse.

Then I searched on the internet for ways I could help make it stay without it smearing. It said to apply and then blow-dry your skin in patches with the cool setting.

I did this, and it did make a huge difference. I brought the blow-dryer in the bathroom. Sprayed an arm- blow-dried it on cool and it stayed. Same for the rest of my body. BUT this did end up taking forever.. So, I can’t say it was a time saver.

It didn’t streak up once it was blow-dried though, so that was a huge plus. It didn’t look a deeper bronze on elbows, knees, or ankles either. Most bronzers do- no matter what you do or how lightly it’s applied. Most of the time it’s just simply inevitable.

I did like this, but I wish it would have worked like a real spray tan. I don’t think I would buy this though, because it took too much time to blow-dry each part of my body that I just added spray bronze too. This meant that I had to spray and then blow dry- spray and then blow-dry.

Review: Shielo Volumizing Shampoo

Since I was old enough to know about the different types of hair, I wished for hair full of volume. Since I never got my wish, I began my search for a product that could MAKE my hair look thicker.

I was lucky enough to get the chance to review Shielo’s Volumizing Shampoo. I have worked with Shielo before and have NEVER been let down, so I was excited to see what they had in store for a volume shampoo..

This is a modern volume shampoo, thickening hair while removing residue build up from styling products. When residue isn’t cleansed from the hair, it can result in dandruff or other scalp issues.

This doesn’t fade colored hair, and doesn’t strip it of its’ natural oils. Shielo is at the top of their game when it comes to hair care. They know EXACTLY what they’re doing.

The shampoo contains nanofilaments to dive deep into the hair shaft to increase volume straight from the root! GENIUS?, I think SO!

Thin and weak hair is re-strengthened, given structural support, conditioned, and replenished by soy protein and hyaluronic acid.

You use this like any other shampoo- except you leave it in for a minute or two before rinsing. Leaving it in gives the hair follicles time to soak up all the yummy greatness in this amazing shampoo.

The bottle has an easy to use pop top cap. I love that they put symbols on their products as well- it makes the bottles look sophisticated and classy.

Like all Shielo products, it smells simply amazing! It doesn’t have a strong overwhelming smell. In the volume department it was absolutely stunning. I used this without any conditioner involved at all, and it was just as moisturizing as it was volumizing.

I blow-dried my hair after using this, and it was like using a root lifter as well as a volumizer. My hair in no way stuck to my scalp like it usually does (which I usually use a root lifter for this) but I didn’t have to when using this!

If you’ve never used a Shielo product before, you are DEFINITELY missing out. If you aren’t looking to volumize your hair- they also have a moisturizing shampoo & conditioner line, as well as some amazing styling products!

Susan Brown’s Baby All Natural Dead Sea Salt Foot Soak & Foot Therapy Cream

If you are a mom or a mom-to-be, you know what foot pain is all about. When your pregnant- your feet and ankles swell so badly that you feel the need to prop them up at all times. If you are already a mother, chasing kids is what makes the pain so bad.

I am on my feet most of the day, except for when I’m writing. I have a really rowdy 3 year old to chase until 3:00, and then after that- it’s a 3 AND a 5 year old. So my feet beg for me to pamper them and make them feel better.

First, you use the Dead Sea Salt Soak. You fill up a bucket with warm/hot water that is large enough for both feet to fit in. The water should fully cover the tops of both feet. Put the Dead Sea Salt soak into the bucket before your feet. Mix it up a little, and then put your feet in and relax for 10-15 minutes.

The relaxing part isn’t hard to do with this foot soak. It has a peppermint smell, which is very invigorating and relaxing. I could immediately feel myself releasing all the stress from the day. My feet practically broke out in applause!

When you’re done soaking your feet in the heavenly mixture, bring your feet out of the bucket and place them on a dry towel. Wrap the towel around your feet for just a second to absorb the excess moisture, and then pat them dry.

Take each foot and apply the foot therapy lotion. Use as much as you need/want, it is a very luxurious cream that instantly softens and rehydrates the foot skin. Massage this into your skin to give your feet extra relaxation and to give it time to soak into your feet.

Avitalin Skin Care Review: Cell Renewal Night Complex

 

Avitalin Cell Renewal Night Complex is a very unique night cream. This is unlike any other night cream that I’ve ever used. WHY? Because it contains Deer Velvet Extract. Deer Velvet Extract is a very unique extract that is used to support the skin cells regeneration and skin vitality.

I have been using this amazing cream for 3-4 weeks now, and can tell a huge difference in the elasticity and texture of my skin. The first week there weren’t any results at all, which is what I expected. To be able to see results in any skin care regimen, you need to continue to use it to see results. Within the second week- my skin looked 10x healthier than what it did! My skin was well hydrated, which makes it look glowing. My face and neck seemed to bask in the glory of this cream.

It contains DMAE which helps to firm skin up and reduce the sagging. Although I don’t have saggy skin, it doesn’t hurt to try and tag it before it begins. I don’t want to get to the age of saggy skin and wish I had done something about it before. My skin is firm, but I still seen some progress in the tightness I seen. I really loved that my skin felt renewed and regenerated. This seemed to create an almost instant plumping effect, which was awesome.

My skin is SO smooth and soft because of this cream. It comes in a little tub with a screw on lid, so it’s easy to just dip your finger in and get as much as you need out. You don’t need very much though. It isn’t THICK but it is very great at spreading easily. I only needed about a nickel size amount to get my entire face and neck. This is hydrating, but yet not greasy or oily in the least bit. I use this with a 3 berry serum from MadeFromEarth, and it still doesn’t make my pillow damp, even if I go right to bed after putting it on.

It has a light pleasant scent, so it isn’t too strong. The ingredients include a ton of nourishing oils (e.g, jojoba, olive, palm, rose hip) and extracts (rooibus tea, green tea, calendula, willowbark - all are conditioning extracts, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), sodium hyaluronate, and vitamin antioxidants. So it isn’t a huge list of ingredients that are hard to pronounce or have never heard of and can’t pronounce.

I am happy with the results that I’ve gotten in such a short amount of time. I would definitely buy this for myself. It feels so silky and soaks right into my skin without a problem. I’d even go so far as to say that I’d even use this as a day moisturizer because it isn’t heavy at all.

I would love to have a bottle of this for the winter, when my face and neck skin can become dry and difficult to put makeup on. I can see this helping to keep makeup on in the morning because it helpfully nourishes skin. If you’ve ever had dry skin on your face, you know what I’m talking about when I say that the makeup balls up and comes off a little too easily for me. SO- if I used this at night to renew the cells and rid of the damaged, dry, chapped skin- it could definitely work for me!

The price for this is right on the money. It is a very high quality product with a ton of natural oils and extracts in it. I love how nourishing this is to my skin. The extracts were definitely researched for their ability to heal damaged skin. My skin has definitely benefited from using this!

Caudalie Paris “Thé des Vignes” Perfume review

The Caudalie Paris “Thé des Vignes”  is an amazing perfume, I LOVE the way it smells. It is so captivating and sensual smelling. You can smell the white musk in it, but it isn’t really strong because it has hints of ginger and honey. It also has orange blossom and jasmine in it as well. So all these combinations mix together to make the most romantic and sweet smelling perfume that I’ve ever had the joy of trying!

It is inspiring and beautifully put together, giving off such a delicate fresh smell. It is subtle yet flirty and fun. The bottle is absolutely STUNNING. As you can tell from the inset picture, it starts at the bottom with a deep pink almost purple coloring. As the bottle gets taller, the color gets lighter.

The bottle is travel friendly. It is small, but yet not petite. I bet I could use this perfume daily and have enough to last half the year or more. It is a circular bottle, so it can either lay flat in the bottom of your purse or be put inside a pocket so you can take it with you.

I have other perfumes in my collection (Some that I absolutely adored).. (EX. Amber Romance from Victoria’s Secret, Davidoff Coolwater, and Lucky) but I find myself always reaching for this one. It has such a unique scent unlike any other perfume on the market.

The musk is a brilliant undertone foundation for this perfume. Adding the layers of floral just added to the seduction of the perfume. Although this isn’t going to cost you an arm and a leg like some perfumes do, it has an even better quality than most of the high dollar perfumes.

I am really REALLY loving this. I find myself lost in the sweet somber scent of this intriguing scent. I praise the owner for thinking of this beautiful scent. I can honestly see this becoming my “to-go-to scent”. Basically, it already has.

It was a great hit at a garage sale we threw at my moms. I swear it was 103* outside and I was basically sweating buckets, yet I kept getting compliments on how great I smelled. So- obviously even though I had about a gallon of sweat on me,

The other perfumes on my vanity have become very lonely, because they have been left out! I know I shouldn’t hurt their little perfumy hearts, but I can’t help it. When I like something, I use it and use it, until it’s gone. Kind of like listening to the same song on repeat.. LOL.

I am hoping that the company NEVER EVER discontinues this perfume. I know companies bring new products in from time to time and some get the old switcheroo.. please don’t let this be one of them!
