On the way home from work in the fall of 2004, a young homemaker did something most women have done—she spilled on her favorite handbag. Frustrated by the thought of hunting for a replacement then transferring all the contents, she wished there was a way to just change the outside of the bag. The idea immediately popped into her mind to create a bag with changeable covers. Not to be deterred by her lack of sewing skills, she grabbed her super glue and some scrap fabric, took apart the stained bag, and made the very first prototype. With her rough creation in hand, she set out on a mission to bring the Miche Bag to life.

How do you change your Miche Bag shell?

There’s a choice of four sizes: Petite, Classic, Demi and Prima.

I ended up choosing the Prima Base and 2 shells. I am a Big handbag kind of girl. The Prima Base & Bags are  5″w x 15″l x12″ tall. I loved that they offered all 4 choices, so that no matter what your purse needs are- they have it!

The base includes 20.54″ long handles that are one inch wide. Once attached, create a 10′ handle drop.

The inside of the purse is very big and open. It has 2 interior pockets that are open, so you can slide your cell phone, sunglasses, glasses, or whatever you want inside. It has 4 card slots, so they are at the ready when you need them to be, and a zippered pocket and 2 pen/pencil slots.

Once you have chosen what size base you want, then it’s time to select your shell(s).. The most EXCITING part! There are so many fabulous and beautiful designs that it was SO hard to choose.

I ended up getting: The Parker and Chelsey shells. Oh how beautiful they are♥

I am loving this faux leather crocodile pattern in Chartreuse green. I can wear this bag with just about anything to give it such a great pop of color! It has the metal MICHE emblem in the front and 2 side pockets for extra storage.

It is easy to clean because of the faux leather.. just wipe it down and go! I am loving it! Both of these bags have added such a classy look to my wardrobe. They might just be FAUX leather, but they look and feel real. The only difference is the price tag. Instead of paying $500, you’re only paying $50.

As a mom and a purse hoarder, I am loving that I can just collect the shells and change the outside when and where I want to, without all the hassle of dumping everything out, resorting it, and putting it back.

It takes a max of 1 minute (if that) to unwrap the shell’s magnetic closure, pull the base part of the bag out, and put on a new shell! Wa-lah. Transformed from work day to night out within seconds.. Most easy to do thing I’ve come across in years!

And because I carry so much stuff with me, it’s not only a time saver, but a life and fashion saver as well. Now I won’t be caught with a leopard print purse with nothing leopard on at all.. BRILLIANT and cheap! What mom OR fashionista could turn THIS down? Certainly not me.

I even went to the Doctor for refills and she was asking where I got it. She didn’t know that it changed shells, she just loved the design of the parker- until I explained the convenience of the shells. SHE was amazed, and I was smiling!

The Chelsey bag is a multi=tasker- it can be worn as a purse OR a backpack. It has small loops at the bottom of the bag so you can clip your straps in it for a Backpack- or clip them up top for the purse!

AND- this can be attached to a very long handle (which wasn’t and isn’t included) but this can also triple as a messenger bag. What woman wouldn’t love that? I know I do. I’m totally loving that I can decide whether I need a purse or a backpack for the day! =)

It is a white faux leather which makes it a dream to clean. Just wipe it down when I’m done using it and it’s good to go! Because it’s white, it goes with EVERYTHING no matter what color, so that’s a giant plus!

Instead of having to zip and unzip- all Miche Bags close when you touch the two sides together. It’s the magnetic inside the purse that holds the shells on, that also doubles as a purse closure. I am seriously loving these bags and not sure how I EVER lived without them.

They aren’t just convenient, but made PERFECTLY with storage in mind. I have 2 kids- so naturally I carry my wallet, camera, lotion, perfume, little cosmetic bag, and random stuff that the kids hand me!

Learn How to Raise a World Changing Child with Tips from Christy Little Jones

Depending on the age of your child, volunteer at an animal shelter or dog sit for a friend. If reading is your child’s interest, bring her to read to seniors at a retirement community. It’s a great way to serve happiness and impact someone’s life for the better.

3. BE CONSISTENT – Consistency requires commitment and discipline. Consistency is going to be the glue that holds your child’s strategic plan together. If you are wishy-washy or don’t follow through, you can’t expect to gain the same results. Be intentional and have integrity with what you set out to do, so that you can be sure to keep your commitment.

4. ALLOW ROOM FOR EXPLORING – Experience is the best teacher!  When we create the space for our child/ren to explore, learning and development takes place at any age. A child who explores their ideas, thoughts and beliefs through action gains the freedom to engage with others on a deeper level. Exploring helps us to discover who we are, what we like and what we don’t.  Can you imagine creating an environment for your child/ren where “failure” is embraced? What a wonderful gift to give your child.

5. BE YOUR CHILD’S CHEERLEADER! Your words hold power and your position has long-lasting influence. Make the decision to support and encourage your child throughout the trials and tribulations of parenthood.  Be careful with your words; choose them wisely. Be a parent that your son or daughter can trust with their innermost secrets and fears. If your child trusts you, he or she will give you their heart and you will gain access to walking with them along their journey to changing the world!

Geri G completely and thoroughly knows how the skin works and what it is that we need to feel and look beautiful. This isn’t just another product that makes you feel good, these products are actually GREAT for your skin.

There isn’t a mile long list of ingredients that I can’t pronounce. These ingredients get to the root of the issue, instead of just masking it. It is very confusing what to choose in the world of makeup today. There are so many different types, colors, and choices available that make it nearly impossible to choose the best for your skin.

You can use this alone as a moisturizer or under foundation. You add it to your skin after it has already been cleansed and moisturized. You can blend this directly into your skin or mix with foundation before applying.

This can also be applied to your eyelashes before putting mascara on them. This primes the lashes and keeps any and all mascaras from clumping up. This is a beautiful and GENIUS product!

Mixing Hints
For long-wearing results, apply Transceutical™ Canvas to the skin before powder foundation.

The Foundation

This is the most nourishing and hydrating foundation that I’ve ever used in my life. This not only hides imperfections but it also brightens my complexion. This is a water based formula- so I wasn’t smearing un-natural oils all over my face.

I dislike foundations that make my face feel weighed down! This foundation is so weightless that I couldn’t even tell that I had it on. Not only did it help to conceal my darkened eye bags, but it just felt great to wear!

This has a matte finish and stays on all day with a wonderful coverage. When I was out in the heat- and sweating- and was talking on my cell phone, I didn’t have those makeup smears everywhere like I usually would!

Application Techniques
Apply one pump of Innocent Foundation to skin that has been pre-treated with PriMixer or mix Innocent Foundation directly into PriMixer for a fast and easy application. Use the M Brush to stroke foundation into an even, airbrushed finish and flawless look.

I am loving that it only has a handful of ingredients: Water, (Nanomarine-5®, Green and White Tea, Squalane Oil from Olive Plants, Vitamin E, Rose Water) all of which can be easily searched and come up as beneficial for the skin.
A little goes a long way, so you’ll have this for 4-6 months (sometimes even more).. I love that the bottles are clear, so I know exactly how much is in it. There are never any air bubbles or problems with it coming out.

They have pump action bottles, and it comes out in a little creamy stream- just ready and waiting for your to make your day as fabulous as the makeup! I love both of these products and will definitely buy these when I run out. Also- Geri G sells other products, so be sure to check them out!

I was excited to be able to review the BeautyBox5. If you sign up for BeautyBox5, you get a box every month with different full size beauty products inside!

Inside the August BeautyBox5, was 2 Freeman Face Masks (Facial Anti-stress), Makeup Geek eyeshadow refill-sensous, Bodygraphy Foundation primer clear, Everyday Minerals makeup- Girl Friday Blush, & Pssssst Dry shampoo.

The way I am going to explain these, is the way you would use these in your daily routine. For example- You’d use a dry shampoo, then the masks to cleanse, Foundation Primer, Eyeshadow, & Blush.

The Psssssst Dry Shampoo-

Directions

Shake can vigorously. Hold 6 inches to 8 inches from hair. Lift sections of hair and lightly spray scalp and roots. Shake can between usage to ensure optimum results. Wait a few minutes, then brush thoroughly. Style hair as desired.

My Thoughts*

I have long straight and dark hair with oily roots, so I was expecting this dry shampoo to leave a little bit of white residue in my hair. I was excited to see absolutely NO grey or white spots anywhere.

This cleans my hair thoroughly because it soaks up all the extra oils without completely drying out my scalp and making me look like I have dandruff. It smells GREAT as well, so that’s a huge plus! I hate dry shampoo’s that smell like old lady’s perfume!

Since the bottle was only a smaller sample size- I have been using this only where the oil is a problem. My roots can become oily within 1 day of washing it, and I used to wash daily until I learned that it was unhealthy for my hair and can cause splitting and damage,

So- using a dry shampoo for those days that you shouldn’t wash your hair is a must. You don’t want to go around looking like you DON’T wash your hair- a dry shampoo soaks up unnatural oils that build up.

The best thing about it is that it adds volume- so if you have thin hair- you could even use this on the days you shampoo to add volume! Love this stuff!

Freeman Face Masks

My Thoughts*

I am in LOVE with this mask. Not only is it a bright green/blue color- there are IMMEDIATE results when using this! It fights breakouts and clears up all the oil on my face!

I put this on my face before showering and let it sit for 5-7 minutes to give it time to dry. Sometimes I leave it on longer than that! I put this on and break out the cucumbers and have an AT HOME spa day! This mask is REALLY relaxing! (And of course- Mini Me Adisyn had to have some as well) =D

It has reduced the redness in my skin due to microdermabrasion and at home peels. My skin is not only tighter, but it is softer. My skin feels so amazingly fresh when I get done washing this off. My pores seem smaller and my skin silky soft.

When it’s on, you feel like you’ve had a bit of botox- you can’t move your face at all because of the clay in it, but after washing it with warm water- there is nothing left except soft rejuvenated skin!

This seems to make the oil in my face disappear, along with the uneven texture. My skin has definitely benefited from this amazing mask. The results go away once the mask is stopped being used, but I bet if I used this a couple times a week- the results would still be there! I am definitely going to purchase more of these.

As with any mask- don’t put this close to your eyes or it can cause irritation such as burning and watery eyes.

Bodygraphy Foundation primer (clear)

With anti-oxidants, vitamins A and E, Green Tea and Grape Seed extract, this weightless oil-free primer fills in fine lines and wrinkles, prevents collagen breakdown and gives the skin a silky smooth, long lasting base.

My Thoughts*

With this primer- a little goes a long way. There was only a small sample size in the box, and I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and still have some in the tube!

It felt like rubbing silk into my skin. It really helps other products just glide right on with absolutely no problem whatsoever! Rub it in, but don’t keep rubbing after it’s dry or it flakes up. Works wonderfully after applied- just make sure you add your makeup RIGHT after applying the primer.

Now that I’ve been using this- my regular foundation seems a bit off if I don’t use this first. AND there is absolutely no fragrance. It’s a great primer for people with sensitive skin!

Makeup Geek eyeshadow refill-Sensous

My Thoughts*

This color is absolutely beautiful- it is a deep shimmery plum. Makeup Geek offers cruelty free makeup which is a huge plus! This has an amazing pigmentation and staying power.

No creasing at all, even when worn all day long in the summer heat! There was also no fading. After the day was through, the eyeshadow was still there looking as beautiful as the minute I applied it!

This is a very pretty, sensuous, and fun color to add to any makeup collection. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten to experience their makeup brand, so I was excited to try it! It had quite a bit of shimmer to it, which is great for a glammed up night on the town

It looks beautiful and glamorous by itself, with a black eyeliner, or when shaded together with just about any color. I am absolutely LOVING it and planning on adding more of Makeup Geek’s eyeshadows to my collection!

Not only are these affordable, but they are high quality as well. They come in little samplers, so if you’re ordering them one by one- I would suggest you get a refill pan (such as MAC or Z-palette). Since I only received one, I just kept it in the pack it came in.

I haven’t had any issues with it breaking up or spilling out. I just pull it out when I need it, and put it back in the case. 

Everyday Minerals: Girl Friday Blush

A soft plum berry shade that is perfectly feminine and matte.

My Thoughts*

I love how soft yet feminine this color is. It gives off a touch of a pink/plum look but it isn’t over the top and too obnoxiously colored. It is easy to apply and isn’t messy, which is a great plus for me.

I usually only use bronzer blushes which give off a sunkissed glow.. but this is a great turnover for me. I really liked how nicely it blended. I put it on with a blush brush and had no problems with it being too bright.

I looked like I’d been at the beach or poolside for a little while, which I really liked. It has a silky smooth satiny feel and blends right in with my foundation. If you are looking for perfectly kissed cheeks, then look no further than the amazing blends from Everyday Minerals.

Whether your heading to work, the mall, or the club- Everyday Minerals has a color right for everybody! The Girl Friday adds just the right amount of pop to my cheeks!

It is brilliantly pigmented, has a luminous luxurious color and feels very velvety. You can also apply this to your chin and forehead for an even better kissed look.!

Pear Tree Greetings Review & Giveaway

As all of you know, Aidan started Kindergarten this year- and it really scared me to think that they might lose him, or not know where he belongs. I was so relieved when Pear Tree Greetings let me have a $25 Gift Certificate to their store.
They had so many cool items, that it was hard for me to choose which ones to get. I wanted something sticky that had Aidan’s first and last name and address on it so I could stick it on his backpack, lunchbox, and jacket.
Since he has been in school, we’ve already had problems with kids taking Aidan’s snack containers. I have sent a little lunchopolis tubberware container with some cookies in it and a snacktaxi that were both never returned to me.
Now that I have these amazing “Name Stickies” which were address labels to begin with, we haven’t had any problems with anything not making it’s way home. AND I’m glad.
I also got some for Adisyn as well. I couldn’t leave babygirl out. When we went school shopping for Aidan we had to buy Adisyn a backpack as well. We told her- backpack or toy; and she chose the backpack! So- I got her some “Name Stickies” too.
They have some very beautiful designs, mommy cards, birth announcements, address labels, and more. The prices are so incredibly cheap that I was excited about how much I could get for just $25. I ended up getting 72 address labels for me, and 24 each for the kids.
When they came in the mail- THEY were of the absolute BEST quality. I didn’t really expect them to be the quality that they were because they were so cheap.

I got address label Peek a boo Flowers and made them into business cards for myself. It’s just tons more fun to stick my name and website on stuff then handing out business cards! Plus- the designs on these are irresistible!

There were 25 colors to choose from and it comes with corresponding color matching text. I just left the colors the way they were because blue and lime green are my favorites! You can buy these for .17 each!

For Aidan I got the B is for Baby Address Labels. These address labels were easy to peel, stuck with no problem, and had no issues at ALL looking fantastic on both paper and Aidan’s snack packs, inside of his jackets, and backpack!
They have become so handy! I can just whip them out and put them on his “new” things that I send to school. I desperately wish I had them before school started- I would have labeled every single crayon I sent to school with him. He has already lost 4 packs of crayons in 4 weeks.!

For Adisyn I also got the B is for Baby Address Labels except for the girl version. Both of these address labels are 100% recycled. I haven’t really had to use Adisyn’s address labels yet, but I have them just in case I need them. They are so pretty!

Womens Sandals on Sale

Just because it’s September, doesn’t mean that the sandals, shorts, and bathing suits have to be put up so soon. Here in Kentucky, it’s still really hot. When I’m sitting in the pickup line to pick Aidan up from Kindergarten, I swear that I sweat buckets.

If you’re on the lookout for cheap sandals right now, Houser shoes has womens sandals as low as $7. These are really cute too. Even if you live in New York, or somewhere where it gets cooler much quicker- that it’s a great idea to stock up right now for Summer 2013!

Bright colors are definitely IN right now. I’ve seen tons and tons of magazine articles and websites where the brightly colored skinny jeans and colorful sandals are the rave!

These would definitely go with shorts, skinny jeans, flared jeans, or skirts! No matter what you wear with them- they definitely pop with the neon colors! They have sizes from 6-10 and even have half sizes as well. 6.5, 7.5.. I like when companies offer half sizes because I wear 8.5 and if I buy 9’s they tend to be too big while 8’s are small.. These shoes are knocked down from $42 to $6.88.

I am loving these because they are real leather, turquoise colored, and look so amazingly comfortable!

Big Fish Games: Bejeweled 2 Deluxe

I have been playing Bejeweled 2 Deluxe for the last several days and this game is awesome.

This game is incredibly easy to learn and highly addictive. With so little spare time, I don’t usually play many games online.. BUT this one is a game that I see myself playing on a daily basis.

If you’re a fan of puzzle games, this game is MUST try! If you’ve ever played the original Bejeweled than you know how addicting this game can be. I lost myself in this game and ended up playing WAY after I was supposed to be in bed.

In the Bejewled 2 Deluxe, they have added many new levels so you get even more hours of fun! This features sharper graphics and ingenious special effects. They’ve added much more than the original has, so it’s 10x better than the original.

This is a game that will never be zapped into the world of game trash. You know- when you’re done playing because you’ve achieved the highest level or simply have gotten bored out of your mind because you’ve played every aspect? This isn’t one of those games. This game is kind of like a classic- you’ll always find this on your desktop, ready to be played time and time again!

In classic mode, there are 64 gems that need to be swapped out and matched up- to create vertical or horizontal rows of the same color. Three in a row is the minimum, four in a row creates an explosive powerful gem that can be used to knock out other rows, and five in a row creates a hyper gem that can be swapped with a color to destroy all gems of that color!

The gems click when you move them around, so it’s nice to have a real-life sound effect going as you play. The gems really glisten and sparkle as if they were real, so this isn’t just a cheap thrown together game. There are actually knock-offs of this game everywhere- but NOT ONE of them actually compare to the real thing.

If you get stuck and take longer than 16 seconds to make a move, a hint will appear. The gems will kind of sparkle even brighter letting you know that there is a move close to that gem.

Puzzle mode is my favorite. You need to clear all the gems exactly right for the puzzle to be clear and to go on to the next level. In Action mode, you have to race the clock to clear all the gems before the time runs out.

AND of course, endless- lets you just play and play to your heart’s content.! Each time you finish a level- the game shows you your best score, how many gems have been collected, how many power and hyper gems have been created and more! WHOOP WHOOP!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

I have oily hair. REALLY oily, always have. It got extremely out of hand when I was pregnant with my son. The over oiliness means I wash it daily, or it looks like it hasn’t been washed in a week. If I didn’t, my skin would break out extremely bad!

I learned overtime that it isn’t such a great idea to wash hair daily. My hair was falling out in alarming rates. Every time I’d wash it, it would look like I’d ripped out my hair in the bathtub. There were millions of strands it seemed like.

So- I began my search for the perfect dry shampoo. When I got a chance to review the Batiste Dry Shampoo, I was excited. When the package arrived- I pulled out the shampoo and it was in a hair-spray type of bottle, and was pink with flowers on it. It also came with a smaller bottle of TRESemme Dry shampoo to compare it to.

To instantly refresh your hair by banishing oil and boosting volume- Vigorously shake the bottle for you use it. Keep the bottle about 30cm away from your head, spraying it into your roots. Massage through with your fingertips- then Brush and style.

At first I thought I was going to have a huge problem with this not blending into my naturally dark hair. I thought I was going to have HUGE white blobs on my head. Massaging it in with my fingertips was just NOT doing the job. It was just making it worse. It looked like I had dumped an entire bottle of baby powder on my head.

BUT- thanks to the amazing Thermoactive brush by Olivia Garden, I eliminated the white blobs! It grabs the dry shampoo and perfectly blends it into my hair AND gives it more volume!

The trick to using a dry shampoo is go slow with it. Instead of blasting your head- just give it little spurts and massage it in with a brush or your fingers (if it works for you). Make sure you blend as you go- so you don’t look prematurely grey!

It doesn’t take away from my hair’s natural shine as it soaks up the excess oil. It doesn’t leave a residue or come off on my hands after I apply it. So I can style it after I get it and not have a mess all over my hands!

The scent is very pleasant and not overpowering in the least! I would love to try the Batiste Dry Shampoo for dark hair- I bet it’s amazing! Now I can have instantly clean hair that looks healthy without having to shampoo it everyday! Batiste rocks in the volume department!

The trick to this dry shampoo is the rice starch. Most dry shampoo’s are made with corn starch which doesn’t always soak up all the oil, and doesn’t add hardly any volume at all. Batiste is like magic in a spray can!

10/10 for this dry shampoo!
