Personal Microdermabrasion Kit at home- This is the best thing EVER! This is the most effective way of removing dead skin cells. It is better than having to pay a dermatologist the same amount for EVERY single visit!

The PMD buffs the dead skin away leaving nothing but beautiful, smooth skin. It comes with different heads. The blue is for sensitive skin and the green is for those tougher spots. The smaller heads are for your face and the bigger heads are for using on your body.

You are supposed to use this on clean skin, so it’s best to use this right out of the shower or bath. Wait until you dry off, and then get to work!

and then put the microdermabrasion up to your face. It feels kind of funny at first. Like a tiny vacuum suctioning your face. Then you glide it across your face in an upward motion.

This is a really cool at home treatment, and you see results almost immediately. Within the first couple of uses, my skin was showing a much greater softness, clearer pores, and looked healthier.

This greatly reduces fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation. I have been using this once a week, it IS an intense treatment- and only needs to be used once a week.

I really really loved this because of my Keratosis Pilaris (chicken skin) and the only thing that will help with this is Vitamin A Retinol Creams and microdermabrasion. Being a mother of 2 small kids, I can’t afford to pay $100 a visit just for something that makes me feel uncomfortable in shorts.

Splat Hair Color Review

I absolutely LOVE Splat hair color. This is the first time that I’ve used it, and I am most definitely HOOKED.

I dyed my hair 2 months ago a deep brown with a hint of red- which I LOVE! But I also wanted to do a black lowlight look. The other name brand colors I seen didn’t have a deep enough black for me, so I definitely wanted to try Splat Jet Black.

In the box, was the bottle with a tip on it, the gloves, instructions, and the bottle with the mixture. Because it is a darker color- it didn’t have bleach with it, like the other splat kits do.

Before mastering the dye- make sure that your hair is shampooed, yet not conditioned. If your hair is oily- the color will not soak in as well. I would also get an old towel and stand on it as well as putting one under your hair around your neck.

I was in my mom’s bathroom- taking strips of hair and applying the color. I wanted to make sure that there was enough black, yet not too much. I didn’t want it to look like there were just missed spots on my head. (I’ve actually had that happen before) LOL.

Because I was doing lowlights, I ended up getting it in her floor, and on the sink. I immediately cleaned it up. I figured it would stain anyway because of the color. It didn’t. As long as I kept wiping it up as it landed on the floor- it came right up.! AMAZED*

The color is like any other dye- the longer you leave it in, the more intense it will be. I ended up leaving it in for about 25 minutes, so I still had time to go get my son. Don’t ask me why I started doing it so late in the day. It arrived and I was absolutely ANXIOUS to use it!

I was super glad I did.! While I was in the pickup line waiting to pick Aidan up from school. I could see my hair drying and see the beautiful intensity of the color. I was in LOVE with this color.

See how the black stands out from the deep brown? I love it like that. It makes my hair look so amazing. I will definitely stick to this hair dye in the future.

I also wanted to do a crimson red highlight- but I was absolutely positive that my hair wouldn’t take to the bleach that comes with it. I have always had bad reactions to lighter dye! Can you say “Orange hair?” Definitely wasn’t pretty.

So instead I chose to do the pink extensions instead. These extensions are amazing! I could have cut it to any length I wanted, although I didn’t have to because it was exactly the length I needed it to be.

Each extension box comes with 2 18 inch extensions. They are totally reusable. I wasn’t sure how to do an extension at first- because I had never had used one before.

All I had to do was flip the part in my hair on the left side and clip it in, and then on the right side as well. It blends right in. I can also curl this (with medium heat) just like my real hair! (Don’t use too high heat though- it will scorch).

I am just glad that it doesn’t separate and get all scraggly like other hair extensions and hair clip-in’s I’ve seen. You know what I’m talking about. When there are like 5 hairs way longer than the others, just because you brushed it.. yeah- I hate that!

This isn’t anything like that! I really love that they are high quality! Plus the pink totally offsets the dark making it look awesome!

I have had so many compliments on my hair, and it makes me feel amazing!

My 17th Birthday

The time comes when we know that we are seen as “grown” in the eyes of our parents or grandparents. The time came for me when I hit my seventeenth birthday.

I was so excited! I went to school that Spring morning, came home, and went to work. When I got off work- I had a box sitting on the table. There were thoughts flying through my head about what this could be. It was kind-of smallish yet had such an elegant wrapping.

My mom sit me down and told me that there was something totally different in the box. Something like I’d never received before. At first I thought-“Are these car keys in this box?”

I still had absolutely no clue as to what she was hinting at and talking about. What could I possibly get that means so much to her yet I had never received before?

She looked at me with gleaming eyes and held the box out to me. I reached for it- and carefully opened the beautifully wrapped package. What I found inside really DID mean a lot to her AND me.

I ended up getting family jewelry. I got my Mom and Dad’s engagement ring and wedding ring, My grandma’s wedding set, AND my Great Grandmothers wedding set.

I was SO happy. They were so beautiful and these heirlooms meant the world to me. I couldn’t have gotten a better gift. This meant that they trusted me to hold on to something valuable in money AND heart!

Of course, shortly after- I wanted to get a luxury safe for my jewelry since I worked at a fast food restaurant when I was in high school. I wanted to keep them pristine, glowing, and to last forever so I could have the chance to hand them down to my daughter!

Glass Handbag Review & Giveaway

How many times have you been looking for something in your purse and not been able to find it? I am pretty sure that I do this almost DAILY. It get’s frustrating, especially if I am in line somewhere and it takes me forever.                  
I end up dumping everything out, searching for that one thing- and then having to put everything back in my purse! It gets VERY aggravating! It makes a mess of things and usually holds me up in the line forever- making the people behind me mad.
I was excited to be able to review a Glass Handbag. With the Glass Handbag (No-it’s not glass).. It comes with a built in light. So it makes it SO much easier to see. It even comes with extra batteries. Even if you run THOSE dead- it only takes 2 AAA batteries of ANY kind.

I chose the Exotic Snake Print Structured Brown Leather Satchel. I am in love with this purse and have been using it since it came in the mail. I’m not usually the type to use the same purse for more than a week- but this bag definitely changed my mind on that one!
This purse has a light inside so that I can see whatever it is I’m looking for. No more digging and digging and coming up empty handed. Even if I am in a dark parking lot, I can find my keys to unlock my truck!
The little black thing is the battery holder. You put the batteries in the back of it- (has a slip on and off back) and unplug one of the little cords to make it light up. The battery pack has it’s own storage space inside the purse!

The inside is so spacious! There is tons of room to carry my wallet, lotion, perfume, makeup bag, keys, and camera. AND more room if I wanted to add something else.

Here are the two sides. In the big zipper I can hold whatever I want- whether it be a little notebook and a pen to take notes while I wait for Aidan in the pick-up line at school.
In the side with 2 pockets a small zipper- I hold my cell phone, coupons, and MP3 player and earphones- so Adisyn doesn’t get bored while we sit and wait for the pickup line to start moving.

It has a zip top closure on the top. Which I love. I can KNOW that if my purse drops, all my stuff isn’t going to come tumbling out. BUT it also has a magnetic automatic flap closure as well.
If I am being lazy and don’t want to fully zip the purse on my way out of the house- I can just flip the closure over and it automatically grasps the other side of the purse. AND nothing comes out!!

There is nothing like owning a perfectly designed, luxurious handbag. It makes a woman feel classy and sophisticated. These bags are REAL leather, and designed with absolutely NO flaws what-so-EVER!
Not only does this come with the regular handles that you see on my shoulders, but it came with an additional cross body shoulder strap as well. It makes having this bag an even better experience. Two ways to carry it in ONE!
It has the protective feet on the bottom to make sure the leather on your bag doesn’t become scratched or beaten up if you sit it down without thinking (which I sometimes AM guilty of doing!).
Glass Handbags offers handbags, evening bags and duffel bags. I already have my eye on a duffel bag for my makeup. Who wants to be digging around in a regular bag when they can have a lighted luxury one? NOT me.
These are more expensive than most regular bags, but considering that they are constructed with REAL leather and the electronics of a light inside—it’s totally worth it. Moms have to splurge sometimes too, and this is the best way to splurge. I definitely feel that this is right up at the top with carrying a Prada or Louis Vuitton Bag- people stop and take notice of it.
Even my husband said he really liked the purse and he has never noticed any purse I have ever carried in all our 7 years together.. so obviously- if it gets a mans attention- there is nothing to be worried about.
We went out and I was stopped more times than I could count asking about the purse. I was happy to show them the add-ons of the purse and how it worked. They were definitely impressed with it. They claimed they had never heard of Glass Handbags and said they were definitely going to look into it.
I was GLAD to have been able to help them.. I love this purse and so glad I was able to review it. It is so beautifully designed that it’s hard NOT to take notice of it.

Tshirt Wonderland Review

If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you know how much I love wearing funny shirts. Not only do they INTRIGUE me, but I love to keep people smiling. Just wait until you see their collection of Awesome pop culture apparel.

With this new shirt that I received from Tshirt Wonderland, I felt like it fit me to a T. I received the "Without ME, it’s just AWESO” shirt. I chose a small, and I hit it right on the head. Usually smalls are more like mediums, but not with AM Shirts.

Their small is really a small, and I appreciate that. I hate guessing on a shirt size- whether it’s going to be too small or too large. This shirt fit perfectly.

I’ve had it for 3 weeks and it has been washed a number of times, and the paint on the shirt has never faded, peeled off, or stuck together..and I dried it on high heat.

I was and am amazed. I really liked this shirt. Because it’s black it can be fitted with jeans, black pants, or shorts. So anything really. It’s a cool shirt just to wear around.

Even though it’s black- I’ve been wearing it in the summer and it hasn’t made me too hot at all. It is made from cotton, so my skin can definitely breath when I wear it =)

Adam thought it was funny because he says that because I am always taking pictures of myself for my blog and the reviews I do that I am “into my self” so he thinks this shirt was perfect for me.. lol

Konvine Roll Up Shoes Review & Giveaway

If you are a regular reader here at Made.By.Jess then it isn’t a surprise that I am a shoe hoarder- especially high heel boots. I am in love with the way they look with any kind of pants, jeans, skirt, or dress.

BUT- I hate the way they make my feet hurt after a couple of hours of wearing them! My feet ache so bad that I feel like I’ve walked on rocks for 12 hours straight with absolutely no shoes on. The soles emit achiness and feel like fire.

So, when I heard of Knovine shoes, I was pretty sure I could hear my feet give a little sigh. These shoes are amazing. When they came in the mail they were in a small black box. When I opened the box, the shoes were rolled up.

As I unrolled them- they were absolutely stunning! Even more so then on the internet. When you see these shoes up close in real life- you can tell that they have a shimmery look added to the black- so they not only look comfortable, but they look dressy as well.

Mixed with the small silver skull on the top- these shoes were heaven! I immediately put them on my feet and OH MY JESUS were they comfortable.

I have been wearing these with everything! Jeans, pants, pajama’s, skirts.. you name it- I’ve done it. I probably didn’t take these shoes off for an entire week straight- this is all I wore EVERY DAY.

BUT They are designed to roll up, so you can stick them in your purse and take them with you. When your out and about and your feet are crying for help and comfort- just slip these shoes out of your purse and onto your feet—simple, simple!

But I loved them so much that I wore them without them having to save my tootsies during a day out! They were already THERE because I put them there. They feel like ballet shoes because they are bendable yet strong enough on the bottom that you don’t feel like you’re walking on nothing.

I chose the Black Shimmery shoes with a skull because black goes with everything and I love the skull look. The skull gives these classy shoes a bit of rocker edge which I love.

They have other prints- so you don’t have to choose black. They also have snakeskin, camouflage, leopard print, denim, shimmery white, giraffe and more! AND they have other options other then skulls as well. So no matter what style you have- there will be a perfect pair for you- CALLING for you to buy them.!

The box that these shoes came in was abducted by my 3 year old daughter and used for her horses..so mommy didn’t get to keep the box. It also came with a rather tall black bag to keep the Konvine shoes in while they are in your purse! This is an amazing idea- they didn’t get lost in my gigantic purse. All I had to do was reach inside, find the bag, change shoes, and put my boots inside the bag and back inside my purse.

Thanks to Klout I was able to try out Aveeno Active Naturals Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes. The packages of wipes contain 25 large wipes, with a flip top opening (like a baby wipe case).

The wipes are thick and durable, yet soft and work SO well. It takes ALL the makeup off- even mascara. The wipes smell absolutely amazing, and they stay wet for a long time. So you can take one of the wipes in the bathroom with you before showering.

You’ll have time to run your water, get undressed, and then wipe your makeup off. I was really stunned at how much makeup was on the wipe. Even If I’m not wearing makeup, I’ll wake up and use this- and you can actually see all the dirt, scum, and germs that is wiped off.

The pads are so large that it is more than enough to get face, neck, and behind the ears. You could even cut them in half to get more use for your money. Half a pad works perfectly.

One side is the cleansing side, the other is an exfoliation side. You can exfoliate and then cleanse- or vice versa. It removes all the dirt and makeup off my face while leaving it fresh, clean, and moisturized.

They sud up really really well- better than any other cleansing pad I’ve seen or used. These don’t contain “soap” so they do NOT dry out your face while cleaning it. Just PURE clean with a hint of fragrance that smells heavenly. Will definitely buy these in the future.

The pads are so much easier to get eye makeup off then using a regular facial cleanser. The regular cleansers end up running the mascara- making me have to re-clean it a couple times before the raccoon look is completely gone. With these pads- one SWIPE over my eyes and the eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, AND foundation GONE!

Crayon Rocks Review

Adisyn is my little artist. She is always drawing, writing, or coloring. Even though she's only 3, and scribbles- she does it with all her heart. I'm not sure how many boxes of crayons I have bought her in the past year, but it's been quite a bit.

She ends up losing them, or breaking them. I was excited for her to be able to try these amazing crayon rocks. The name says it all. They are shaped like rocks, so it's easier for her small hands to hold. She can't break them because they are designed specifically for small hands.

They come in 16 colors, so it keeps her pretty busy choosing from all the colors. She has had so much fun tracing her hands, coloring me pictures, and scribbling her heart out. I love to see her sit for awhile and get into it.

She spreads them out on the floor and watches cartoons while she colors. The colors are grey, black, brown, light brown, orange, dark orange, red, dark blue, periwinkle blue, purple, light purple pink, goldish yellow, bright yellow, light green, and dark green.

Because it comes with a small beige colored drawstring bag, she puts her crayon rocks away as soon as she's done with them. I was very impressed. I have bought her many crayon boxes and pencil pouches for crayon storage, but obviously she would rather have the drawstring bag.! I'm glad that she has found something that she can enjoy AND keep up with!

Great for taking to the doctor, out to eat, or in the car. She can bring a coloring book and her bag of crayon rocks and stay busy instead of whining that she's bored.! My family has come to love these crayon rocks.

I got the chance to review the Lavera Naturkosmetik Sun Sensitiv Self-Tanning lotion. I am IN LOVE with this self tanner. Not only does it give me a quick tan (within 3 hours), it also smells really good.

It has a lavender/Citus scent to it, and is certified naturally organic. Organic macadamia nut, organic Jojoba oil and organic Sunflower Oil for easy application and silky soft, smooth skin.

The trick to applying any sunless tanner is to exfoliate the skin first. So get yourself and amazing body scrub and loofah and go to town on those dead skin cells. This is so your tan is blended well and not blotchy- sticking to the dead skin that everyone has.

I am using TreeHut Coconut & Lime Body Scrub to exfoliate. Then pat your skin dry- apply the tanner all over your body (with your clothes off, of course). Then let it dry before you put your clothes on. Sunless tanners will stain clothes if you don’t let it dry before putting clothes on.

Organic Lavender, Aloe Vera and rose water offer moisturizing benefits and leave skin feeling refreshed. My skin was very moisturized after applying this sunless tanner. I loved the way that it was thick and creamy- which allowed for an easier spread.

I didn’t have any streaks what-so-ever when using this. I used this on both my face and body, avoiding the hair lines of course. No orange spots, no dark brown ankles or knees. Oh- yeah, I’ve been there and done that! Not a pretty site to have dirty looking knees and ankles.

Make sure you wash you hands after using of course, so that the insides of your fingers and palms do not turn brown. Wash immediately after applying. And wait at least 6 hours before beginning another application on your body/face.

This Herbal Nonsoap cleanser is certified organic, and is very gentle on the skin. This is perfect for those who have sensitive skin and need something that will not dry their skin out.
This cleanser has a strong (herbally citrus) smell, which was okay. I didn’t expect it to really have a fragrance smell because it IS organic. It is a cleanser, a mask, toner, and makeup remover all in one.

This is an amazing shampoo. Not only does it cleanse extrememly well, but it feels like there is conditioner built in with this. It smells amazing, and did wonders for my hair. It’s absolutely chemical and sulfate free- so I even used this on my kids.
Adisyn’s hair is thin, but somehow she ends up with tons of tangles in her hair. This leads to her crying and screaming that it hurts when her hair is brushed. I either had to end up using conditioner on her hair or using a detangler every time and she is only 3.
It is made with Goat milk and infused  with luxurious pure silk. This is what gives off the moisture to the hair follicles- so that hair is naturally silky to the feel, manages tangles, and takes away the frizzy part of hair.
This shampoo is also amazing for the scalp as well. With it being natural and organic with a blend of herbs- it moisturizes the scalp without leaving behind any unwanted residue- which is what causes the scalp to become unhealthy and start to flake.
When using this shampoo- I didn’t have to use conditioner or detangler on her hair, and I didn’t get any protests from her when brushing her hair. Her hair smelled great, was extremely shiny, and of course tons more manageable.
